  • Seven years ago we published a simple video about building a high horsepower street based Ford V8 engine. Today this video has millions of views on CZcams and thousands of comments. We have consistently been asked by you guys for a more in-depth look inside what really goes into building a high output street V8 engine. So when Frank Marchese of Dandy Engines informed us of a small block Ford V8 powered Aussie delivered Falcon XB project they had become involved in, we were more than happy to jump on board.

What is with everyone running Powerglides? C6s can be built to take 1600-1800hp at the dragstrip every weekend for years. It's really nice to be cruising around 40-50mph (65-80kph) without revving at 3800rpm. That motor is an absolute beauty! Extremely well built to last forever. Craftsmanship on the car build is top of the line. Just throw in a C6 with a locking converter and a Gear Vendors overdrive unit. Gear Vendors will make you guys the only shop to go to. You can have a Turbo 400 and a GV overdrive attached to 2500hp engine giving you a mechanical 6 speed auto. Lock up converters can be controlled by switch or the ecu.
A monster that will go on the highway under 2500rpm is next level.

Don't build many cars do we ! The GM power glide has one gear , first as top is just a locked shaft just like top gear in a manual ! That means once it changes to top no gear drag, power loss, light weight , simple , a C6 , well heavy , never fit under a Aussie Falcon , different tail shaft. And extra gears you don't need with that much power .

You had me at 'building a high horsepower NA V8'. Everything after that was like watching a supermodel born of metal come to life at the perfect photographic age. Ooo's and Aaah's abound!
Add: Damn, a rare moment of jealousy! We never got the Falcons like this stateside, the lines on that car are amazing! Love the way it looks, sleek and mean! Oof, want want want!
