I love that just before they did the cover, the host had that smirk that said "There is no way". Then after the performance, it was a "Holy shit! They did it!" Oh Wang Chung, what can't you do?
I have been looking for this exact specific friggin version of this song is since I watched it on the show that night and this is the first time I found it they did a phenomenal job I like their version better than anybody else's including those I'm just
You're welcome. I'm just glad I was fan enough to record it when it was on so I could upload it when no one else did. I don't know if you've heard their new stuff, but it's really good, too.
thank you for uploading this.... i have been wanting to see/hear this again since i saw it live. they totally NAILED that! still hard to believe. my deepest bow of respect down to my feet to W.C..
So Popdose did an interview with Jack Hues that's awesome! And the new music is out! And it rocks!!!!!!!!!! Now I have to find a concert within driving distance!
@chainyrabbit That's sweet! I talk with (to) him on Facebook a little. I'm sure he's got better things to do than chat with me. But I've been a Wang Chung fan since the beginning, and I've been doing my part to spread the "gospel" of Wang Chung everywhere I can.
I like it! Good memories at the clubs with both of those great tunes back in the day. During spring break most of the white girls found a way to dance nasty when Nelly's song came on. lol
@dfarmbrough I like to think they told people who would be on the show, so fans could come. And while Dance Hall Days was their breakthrough hit, Everybody Have Fun became a cultural phenom. I have friends who send me birthday cards with the phrase, and WC's site has a video with tons of shows using it. You should check it out. Their new music is just as good and inventive.
@CartoonsAndGameShows Yeah, there was some good and some bad on that show. And it seemed the better acts didn't get the recognition they deserved. Like Wang Chung and The Knack.
@kingdomofchrissmith Cool, he's a really cool guy. I'd never heard them before a few days ago. I might starting singing Everybody Have Fun Tonight in class next week
Lol! Jack was my songwriting lecturer in my first and second year at uni (CCCU). Makes me laugh that he says that Jack Hughes is his stage name and that he's not a center of attention kind of guy because he used the name Jack Hughes as his uni name and found any excuse to play us his music haha. While he seems to have been rather successful as a musician, I found him to be a rather biased lecturer. Instead of marking our work based on the grading criteria, he graded it based on his personal preferences. So basically, if he just didn't like your song or the genre that your song was written for, you got a bad grade. Strangely enough, he seemed to favour the singer/songwriter types, so if your genre is metal, electro pop, country etc. you were screwed lol. He's basically a pretty cool guy though.
@kingdomofchrissmith I don't think so in the short term, they have come out with new tunes such as ABDUCTED BY THE EIGHTIES, STARGAZING, AKASHA to name a few, word say they are touring the USA in a couple of month ahead, you can check WCH tickets sale on e-bay for this forthcoming shows, hope this helps...

I remember watching this when this show was on..Wang Chung nailed that Nelly song!
A couple of old white british guys doing a rap song. How is this not ridiculous? But they sound great! Wang Chung was an underrated band.
A combination I didn't know I wanted, but apparently I did

I have officially seen it all. Now THAT's how Wang Chung... well... Wang Chungs tonight!
Looking back, I wish I would've watched this show when NBC showed it that one summer. I love 80s music.
Wouldnt be the 80s without these guys, love em!
You're welcome. I'm just glad I was fan enough to record it when it was on so I could upload it when no one else did. I don't know if you've heard their new stuff, but it's really good, too.
that dancer is fucking mint

Friggin Brilliant version of Hot in Here...well done!!!
I have been looking for this Hot In Herre for sooooooooooooooooo long. Thank you. Now I can prove that it exists! Gawd....I LOVE WANG!!!!!!
Lol! Wang Chung is the shit!
4:55 .....that's when my Jaw dropped...actually it has its charm
All the cougars in the house say ho!
So Popdose did an interview with Jack Hues that's awesome!
And the new music is out! And it rocks!!!!!!!!!!
Now I have to find a concert within driving distance!
So great...
If SNL’s Rachel Dratch went blonde again she could pass as Jack’s double.
Love it!!! thank you!!!
They are soooo brilliant!!!! :D *thumbs up* thanks for sharing Chris!!
This made me smile!
they are good
Talk about owning 'It'. Dang. What an impressive cover.
@owendavian It just goes to show that true artists know how to entertain. I'm glad you liked it.
That chick is hotter than the one in the Nelly U.S. video! The European one, set in the St. Louis Arch does have a hottle in the elevator with him.
I saw Huang Chung at Gateshead open air in 81, they were fantastic, much better than the pop stuff they are known for.
There is so much more to Wang Chung than "an 80s band".
Their cover of Hot in Herre sounds like something from the Ghostbusters 2 soundtrack. Weird.

Everyone keeps telling me there's a new album coming out. All I want is new Wang Chung. However I can get it. So covers will do for now.

Nelly must have been honored that Wang Chung covered his song?
Wang Chung is better at rapping than most actual white rappers.
@JemioPerez Thanks. I'll keep my eyes peeled for them.
@CartoonsAndGameShows Yeah, there was some good and some bad on that show. And it seemed the better acts didn't get the recognition they deserved. Like Wang Chung and The Knack.
That chick is hot!
@kingdomofchrissmith Cool, he's a really cool guy. I'd never heard them before a few days ago. I might starting singing Everybody Have Fun Tonight in class next week
LMAO!!! Not bad at all!!!
@keeler01 That's freakin' awesome! If he was my tutor I would definitely work on honing my songwriting skills. He seems very decent.
Does anyone have a guitar tab for this? Looks great fun to play but can't at all figure out how to.
@kingdomofchrissmith He's my tutor too! He's a really cool guy, didn't know Jack wasnt his real name, thats a shock
This is what I remembered most years after watching it done on tv. Actually better than Nelly
Who? Because Jack Hues and Nick Feldman still live in the U.K.
i liked this version more than nelly's version.
Nelly will be lucky to be playing state fairs and indian casinos in a few years.
@vcsnatch1 Glad I could help.

did he lose his english accent living decades in L.A.?
They broke that song down better than Nelly! Hahaha!
