I STILL can't believe that Vanilla Ice beat The Knack in this competition. I always missed Bruce Gary on Drums, but Pat Torpey was near perfect replacement. GREAT BAND! RIP Doug and Bruce.

My Sharona was their big hit. Came out in 1979. They were really over-hyped, as the "next Beatles" and so that turned a lot of people off to them and they died out quickly. That's a real shame because as you can see here, they were quite good. And the lead guitar solo in My Sharona (long version, not the pop radio version) was absolutely inspired.
