BACnet IP Advantages Over MSTP

One question we often get asked is: “how do I choose between BACnet over IP or BACnet over MSTP for my network?” These are the two most popular network types the BACnet communications protocol supports. For example if a chiller (HVAC) Trane supports Bacnet protocol. This chiller is connected to BMS of the plant (single port is available, which is occupied by BMS). If I need the chiller to be connected to another gateway which can send data to our cloud. Is there any possible way that BMS as well as gateway can be connected to the chiller simulatenously. For example let say as Bacnet splitter kind off.. please express ur suggestions here.
