Aerosmith is from Boston. And they do have a unique sound, but itâs mostly blues rock based. Tyler has spoke to his main influences being Led Zep amd The Rolling Stones. They definitely add their own flair and style.
their main influences are The Yardbirds, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac and The Beatles...
and The Rolling Stones regarding their image, which Tyler admitted finally in the 90s after 2 decades of the media pestering them with that
Steven Tyler is from NYC
Why does everyone try to separate rock and roll from rock and roll always try to separate it something else like rock and roll is bad when obviously it's part of some of the best music since classical really like to know why you jackasses keep doing that it makes no sense to me like you're ashamed of rock and roll whether it be heavy classic hard soft it's rock those I can understand but everyone tries to throw other s*** like it's jazzy rockets it's blues yes it's bluegrass Rock it's this rock it's that rock like that makes a f****** difference other than your assumed of rock and roll
Aerosmith.... incomparable.
Rhythm and blues rock and roll. Love Aerosmith .
Gotta love Aerosmith!
Aw. Hell. Yeah!!
This is not just incredible music, this beat and his vocals are just sexy.
Aerosmith headlined my very first concert. It was Cal Jam 2 in 1978...I was but 15 yrs9mos, and was there for more than 26 hrs. Had to hitchhike from the track tunnel (tunnel going underneath the race track) to get home. I called out; "anyone going to San Bernardino" maybe five times before someone shouted "you can come with us." Turned out they lived just a few blocks from me. I was hooked and have since seen more than 100 bands Live. It's too bad that record labels have opted out of producing records for rock bands. Resulting in less and less live shows.
Hitchhikin bad boy, lol. So was I!! Get this....I had a 66 Mustang....needed much work and I was really pushing it by driving 2 miles to a Bob Segar concert and then 2 miles back. Well I almost made it there ...a few miles away. So the car breaks down. Two guys puck up me and my girlfriend and we just leave my car on the highway becuz we had to get to the concert. Well the only thing I remember is going to this dive bar. Mind you, I was 17 and my girlfriend was 16. We got drunker than hell ...I remember my girlfriend dancing on the tables!! And I don't remember the concert at all.... Just Bob in a white tux. Oh this was 1980!! So many good crazy times! Oh, I never got my car back!! Lol ....
Aerosmith is unique. They have their own sound.
Soul eater, you are right and Tyler's voice is as recognizable as Jaggers. When you hear it you know who it is.
Permanent Vacation had several hits on it including my favorite track "Angel."
Hangman Jury is mine from that one
I'll take pre MTV Aerosmith, thanks.
Definitely their best song from the second half of their career and possibly their best ever. LOVE this song, such a great New Orleans vibe to it.
The building with the green shutters was my parents old apartment in the French quarter
I wouldn't go that far, but to each his own ;)
It's my favorite song of theirs, even though it's not a hard rocker. It's just so damn FUN.
@@erykvonritzmann4741 Eryk....nooooo way
no way close to best ever
âSomething about this bandâ- is right; EPIC- in my personal top 5 of ALL TIME-đ„đ
Classic jam
Aerosmith is from up north, they toured with KISS on their first tour. The opening band for KISS is a great place to be seen and heard. They are fantastic showmen.
The lady he's kissing at the end was actually Steven Tyler's wife at the time.
Lex was right... That's Scat! Ie. Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong! It's totally badass. And her ear recognized that sound. đđ
It's so awesome to see Aerosmith's 2nd or 3rd comeback attempt referred to as "vintage." I love that.
Attempt?
Nah, they were successful man, they were SUPER popular lol.
In school girls would say, "I like this new Aerosmith band" like they didn't exist in the 70s&80s đ đ
Most of this video was filmed in Johnson City, TN (the concert part and the houses were on frathouse row near East TN State Univ). We were at this concert. Love me some Steven Tyler.
Aerosmith is Americaâs greatest Rock & Roll band ever! Theyâve been together and putting out great relevant music for over 40+ years. All the same people since their debut album, Dream On in 1969. Listen to the title cut from that album and take it from there.
Too many great songs to list here.
"Woman of the world" is my favorite Aerosmith tune.
And god she knows itđ€
Turns my head every time she shows it.
@@lastchild6153 and there's nothing you say nothing you do.
@@BROU-bb2uc She might be gone tomorrow oh Lordy whatcha gonna Do.
Hell yea! Love Aerosmith. Been killing it since the 70s (We donât talk about most of the 80s lol)
Pump and permanent vacation were in the 80's and wonderful
@@Shawn-mo6dh late 80s, yes. Hence why I said âmost ofâ lol. Iâm a huge Aerosmith fan (joined Aero Force One in the 90s lol), but Rock in a Hard Place is terrible, and might as well throw Night in the Ruts in here too lol. Done With Mirrors is passable, but thereâs a reason Permanent Vacation is called their comeback album. The boys all got back together and on the same page.
@@LeglessWonder Night In The Ruts is a great album. I have been a AEROHEAD from the very early Daze of the 70s. Have seen them and the Joe Perry Project so many times. Have met and hung out with them a few times throughout the years. Even though Night In The Ruts was put together during a time of total chaos for the band on a personal level and didnât get the AirPlay that Toys or Rocks got it baffles me that you would overlook and dismiss the Brilliance of songs like Bone To Bone,No Surprise,Reefer Head Woman, and the Awesome cover version of the Yardbirds song Think About It.I mean thatâs cool and all but I think you should give it another listen or two.Let it grow on you a bit .Peaceâïžand Keep on Rockin đ€đžđ„đčđ·
When Tyler starts to scat at the end of the song is when he takes this song on a whole different level. Classic rockin song đ€đœđ€đœđ€đœđ€đœđ€đœ
Theyâre from Boston. One of their nicknames is âthe bad boys from Bostonâ. Tyler and Perry also got âThe Toxic Twinsâ.
They are East coast. Started in New Hampshirite but really got going once they moved into an apartment together in Boston, they are nicknamed the âBad Boys from Bostonâ
Yeah. This was my favorite Aerosmith song/video back in the day. I had a bit of a crush on Joe Perry (guitar) back then. Look at the coolness 3:16 đ
Iâve seen so many 80âs bands but always wish I could have seen Aerosmith live.
I love this song. đ
The Boys from Bean Town is probably in the top 10 greatest. I saw them twice in the 90s and they were incredible both times.
Lex the more you two have a chance to get deeper into the AEROSMITH library, you will appreciate, Tom Hamilton (BASS), Joey Krammer (DRUMS), Bad Brad Whitford (GUITAR), Joe Perry (Lead GUITAR), for the amazing band that they are. True Steven Is the Voice of Aerosmith, But these Bad Boys from Boston, go back to the very early 70's when they were all roommates at 1325 Common Wealth Ave. (See The Concert Video).
Wiki says This about AEROSMITH; Aerosmith is the best-selling American hard rock band of all time, having sold more than 150 million records worldwide, including over 85 million records in the United States.[18][19] With 25 gold, 18 platinum, and 12 multi-platinum albums, they hold the record for the most total certifications by an American group and are tied for the most multi-platinum albums by an American group. They have achieved twenty-one Top 40 hits on the US Hot 100, nine number-one Mainstream Rock hits, four Grammy Awards, six American Music Awards, and ten MTV Video Music Awards. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, and were ranked number 57 and 30, respectively, on Rolling Stone's and VH1's lists of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.[20] In 2013, Tyler and Perry were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and in 2020, the band received the MusiCares Person of the Year award.
Seen them at free concert on Comm Ave, great time!!
When the song is finishing, Steven is mumbling singing with his voice, that's called Scat. New Orleans and scat music go back a long ways, like 1890's. So yes, it's filmed in New Orleans, Bourbon Street and probably just a theme for this song. Sort of like one of their other songs "Back in The Saddle," has a western, cowboy theme to it.
Mick Jagger, and Steven Tyler, are both completely insane. đ
What a tribute to Delta Blues masters, BB, Robert Johnson, Muddy and all the rest.
They are the Bad Boys from Boston!
Yep, they are indeed from Boston, I can remember them busting out nationally and becoming a big deal after the first album became a hit. I saw them just before the album came out, they opened for Mott the Hoople and kicked butt. They should do Season of Wither from the second album, one of their best deep cuts and dripping with atmosphere. Enjoy! đ”đžđ€đčđ¶
Mott the Hoople is Joe Elliottâs favorite band. Heâs always raving about them.
Probably my favorite song of theirs. đ„đ„đ„đđ
Great great song!
Aerosmith is amazing!
Parts of this video were shot in New Orleans (obviously) and parts in Johnson City, TN. Great song and video.
I just happened to be on Bourbon St when parts of this was filmed. It was awesome!
I saw Aerosmith on this tour, Permanent Vacation. I was in my teens & my friend wanted to see them & I wanted to see Dokken. It didn't take me long to be a much bigger Aerosmith fan. Permanent Vacation is still one of my favorites albums.
The bad boys from Boston. đ€đ€ Anything and everything from done with mirrors. Best ass kicking album of their comeback!
Aerosmith!!!! Yesssss!!! Please do more!! Check out Sweet emotions, Love in an elevator, Janies got a gun, Dude looks like a lady, Angel, Crazy, I don't wanna miss a thing & sooo many more đđ¶đ
I've always liked this Aerosmith song. One of my favorite of their songs.
Also this song has a bit of Zydeco slide style in it at times which is probably where you're hearing the New Orleans sound.
We love those boyz from Boston!!! â€ïžđ„łđđœ
Lex is right, the song without question has a New Orleans vibe because of the horns. Everyone in this band are talented musicians, Steven being the most knowledgeable with music theory and working out a lot of the complicated stuff.
We had this album and boot leg tape of this when I was a teenager đâ€
@Brad&Lex I got the entire bands autograph at their book signing tour for their autobiography. Itâs a great read btw! You are learning one of rocks best bands ever! Got the autograph in late 90âs, then saw their concert around 01â youâre right totally not southern rock! Thatâs example lynard skynyrd! Sweet home Alabama prime example of âsouthern rockâ lol but good but not same! Steven Tyler is amazing and this band is a legend! He Steven Tyler actually played in couple bands read their autobiography
Steve Tylerâs dad along with himself are classically trained pianist 1:44 Aerosmith was a mainstay for Super Bowl halftime shows
You guys have the best selection of songs reacted to, I love this channel
Takes me back to 1989 when Aerosmith's huge "comeback" LP, "Permanent Vacation" caught fire and Steve and Joe were clean for the first time in 20 yrs....
Thank you. Id forgotten this song its been so long since Ive geard it played anywhere, love his voice still!!
Guys- Try Kings and Queens by Aerosmith, easily one of their best songs!
I've always called Aerosmith unique they have a combination of rock, jazz and blues. No one else has a sound like they do when you hear a song from them you know it's them
jazz???
Just ol' Steven Tyler tootling along in HIS Shelby Cobra, saying Hi to all his "friends". Just another day as a Rock Star of the first order. Aerosmith is a BOSTON band, through and through. They even own a bar on Lansdown Street behind the Green Monster in Fenway Park, called Mama Kin, after a song on their first album.
Awesome song, Tyler wrote it on his way to Rhode Island for a tattoo. Tats were illegal in Massachusetts.
Such a good song and band.
Last part of video where he was driving waving bye to all the ladies was made in Johnson City, Tn. They were there playing a concert at Freedom Hall Civic Arena, home of ETSU Basketball.
Love this one! I wore this album out. It is an amazing one!
THE MYSTERIOUS SCREAM IS HIS NATIVE AMERICAN SOUL SCREAMđđcheck the AEROSMITH music video. đŒ LET THE MUSIC DO THE TALKINGđŒ đ©đžđ¶đ¶đ¶đ đŹ
The horns and Steve Tyler's vocals make this track.
I totally get the New Orleans vibe, Lex
Theyâre from Boston. The girls in silhouette in the windows are reminiscent of the Red Light District in Amsterdam.
Nothing like 30- 40s sound mixed with rock.
Check out Brian Setzer ( Stray Cats fame) 'Jump jive and wail' or Christine Aguilera's ' Candy Man'
I guess unless you have been there, you can't really recognize New Orleans on sight but this is not just N.O. this is Mari Gras and I think most people can associate the crowds dancing in the French Quarter, tossing and catching BEADS with a drink in your hand, many wearing some type of costume. I mean it is one of the iconic events in this country that happens every year!!!
My favorite band. I would call Aerosmith the American version of the Rolling Stones. đ
Aerosmith called Boston home, when they broke out. Watched them film some of this in New Orleans. Saw Toys, Rocks and Pump tours. They bring it live. đ€đ
I agree that it sounds southern and big band. And they did show some New Orleans buildings. Then again the Stones sound southern as well and they are British.
Aerosmith is an east coast band with a heavy blues influence. They are from Boston.
Bad Boys from BOSTON.
Tylor and Pery know jazz, Sole and Rock.
Not sure if Boston is mysterious but thats where these guys hail from
Aerosmith is a BOSTON rock band
Nice video with a great reaction. Their first 4 albums are must have classics after that they are hit and miss but I still like em
If this is vintage....I am flippin' prehistoric!!!đđ đ
This song has always reminded me of King Louie from the Jungle Book
Bad boys from Boston, Screamin Demon and Mr Sweet Emotion aka Toxic Twins đ€đ„đ€
totally nailed it picking up the new orleans vibe there lex. No one swings like Aerosmith.... they are one of the grooviest rock bands out there.
The horns guy on this came from Canada. This is my favorite of the few later period songs I like.
Love your views, about time you checked out Status Quo their catalogue goes back 50 years and are a through and through British institution....
Listen to Nobody's Fault from the Rocks album. Heavy Aerosmith written by Brad Whitford who also play the solos on the song. Another hidden gem are Lightning Strikes from the Rock In A Hard Place album
The Bad Boys from Boston! â„ïž
This isn't vintage Aerosmith. This is the more recent Aerosmith (late '80s, '90s, '00s) when they went more on the poppy rock side. The vintage flavor you probably hear is the blues rock, which they have influences from. New Orleans big band feel, horns is the jazz style from the South. Even does the scat (rapping random words) which is typical of jazz music. Some of their songs sounded like this. Others had slower ballad styles.
Vintage Aerosmith is more hard rock, early metal, punky style that they did during the '70s and parts of the '80s.
Yo, Sheck out Dillenger, cocian around my brain ! Love you're reactions!
Aerosmith is an American rock band formed in Boston in 1970. The group consists of Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford. - Wikipedia
I saw them live, Chicago, Cominsky Park, 1978. It was AC/DC, Frank Marino & Mohagany Rush, Foreigner and Aerosmith was the headliner.
Lead singer Steven Tyler is from Yonkers NY in Westchester County, NY.
You should try Falling In Love (Is Hard On The Knees) from the Aerosmith.
the bad boys of NEW JERSEY
Love your Zeppelin shirt Lex
Bring itđ
They should just scream "Boston" (that is where the band is from, the eastern half of Massachusetts) definitely not an LA band like Van Halen, Guns and Roses, or Motley crue. All their songs are based on blues rock platforms.
They were called the bad boys from Boston.
You should do guns n roses - bad obsession
Got that bluesy new orleans hard rock
Loved it
I understand Lex's NOLA vibe from this song. Especially when you hear the Cab Calloway scatting at the end.
Aerosmith- Permanent Vacation
2 words.
Steel drums.
They were having a pretty surprising comeback about this time
BTW, the only "Vintage" Aerosmith is pre 1978, their first five albums, Aerosmith, Get Your Wings, Toys In The Attic, Rocks and Draw The Line. After that they went a little downhill for a decade or so and so.
What about night in the ruts
@@Shawn-mo6dh Meh. Only a couple of good ones on that album, and don't mention "Rock In A Hard Place", if you please.
Aerosmith is considered a Boston band, although Steven Tyler and Joey Kramer come from about a mile away from me here in Yonkers, NY
Similar to the Cars. Ric Ocasek and Benjamin Orr were not from Boston either but the Cars are considered a Boston based band.
J.Geils Band also... In a lot of cases they are there for school and start bands there.
First time Steven Tyler saw Led Zeppelin play was in Boston back in '69.
They are also good in concert Lex...seen them in 88 GnR opened up for them!
There from Boston
Lex called it.
