Meet Me in Montana! A Father-Daughter Week

    This was my fun filled week at my dad’s house in Montana. Hik’n, fly’n, shoot’n, and drink’n. Good times! We weren’t able to make the epic flying video with my dad’s plane. It was having some oil pressure issues but mostly it was the fact that it kept storming and raining! The day before I left, the weather finely cleared and we were invited to go up in friend Rick’s old biplane. I got some good ideas for future flying videos.
    You can see that my father means the world to me. He's always been a hero and kindred spirit. Thank you, Dad, for letting me keep some shots of you in the video. Much better than a blurry blob!

    I just saw your conversation from 3 days ago. Please don't pull your channel down.
    I have never left a comment on your videos I think, but I have watched many.
    Your videos have really inspired me and I plan on hiking the JMT next year.
    Your channel is great and I hope you keep it up, I know it can be upsetting to get trolls, but they are everywhere here on CZcams. You are one of my favorite creators on here and it would be a shame to see you go.
    I know I am not the only person who feels this way. I am here in central Cali so I hope we see each other on a trail some day.

    Hey Brooklyn. I hope you are doing OK. Like previous posters, I want to encourage you to keep uploading your wonderful videos. You are one of the most creative, adventurous, fearless and smart people I've come across on CZcams. I would be very sad to see your channel taken down! I especially love your backpacking videos. You have so many followers who greatly enjoy all of your work and eagerly hope for MORE, and patiently wait for even a morsel of anything you create so we can get our "Brooklyn fix." I don't know the details, and I'm so sorry to hear that you have received negative, hurtful responses. But please don't let the bad overshadow the good. The fact is, you have brought a huge amount of enjoyment and motivating encouragement and vicarious adventure to SO MANY PEOPLE! I'm sure there are many folks out there like myself, who will physically never be able to accomplish what you have done, or go where your treks have taken you. We, too, may feel the call of the wild in our souls, but for some of us who can't really get out there, that call is wonderfully answered by Brooklyn-binging on CZcams! It's almost like we are there with you, seeing the natural beauty you record so artfully. We can almost feel your awe and excitement, your frustrations, your scary moments, your strength and inner fortitude, your pain, your solitude, and most of all your love of the outdoors! You share a bond with other trekkers, who can identify with you and you can support each other and pass on tips, advice and stories. I think you would be surprised how many different kinds of people, from all over, are being lifted up and blessed by your sharing, by your personality, and your great sense of humor. Losing your video creations would be like losing a best friend! But whatever happens, just know that your unseen, appreciative CZcams buddies are truly grateful for all you have shared with us over the years. In my mind, dear Brooklyn, you are a heaven-sent treasure. I just want to say a big THANK YOU from my heart and I wish you only the best, always!

    I'm hoping more vids are coming. There's something about a gal solo backpacking the JMT, drinking Jack, car camping on the side of the road, making knives, welding and shooting guns that is either, disturbing to people in Cali or awesome. Then the Berkeley sweatshirt from a previous vid combined with mentioning the idiocy of Cali gun laws made my head spin! In a good way. :) You're just a BadAss! Your dad is definately beaming with pride. Carry on and carry proud.

    What a cool vid. That bi-plane is the safest plane to fly. Ol dad was a seat of the pants flier(no instruments). He loved flyin so much that when he would drive his truck he would act as though he'd be flying.(leaning into every turn) Funny thing, in ww2 he fixed planes among other things and in Vietnam he built airports. At 70, he finally got his pilots license. I didn't have him too much longer and that was sad. Good thing your doin, that "dad" trip. it was good for you and him. I remember on the day my dad died we celebrated, his life by going to a park. He was an avid outdoors man(hunt,camp and fish) A lot if that I did with him and it was a learning experience. While we were at this park we saw fire flies(a memory of him catching a bunch for me when I was a pup) and then there was this wild fly over of a plane too close to the ground just like it was my old pop sayin goodbye. Thanks for the vid, sweet lady. ATB, Jb.

    • @LandmarkAdventures
      @LandmarkAdventures  Před 8 lety

      I love Magix, however, I've never used anything else! So feel free to shop around. And important thing to consider is shoot in "RAW" so editing ability is at its best. And when importing the video to the edit program, DO NOT let it "adjust" to fit whatever specs it suggests. Import as-is. And don't edit, export, then import it back for further editing. the video degrades every time you convert it.

    • @LandmarkAdventures
      @LandmarkAdventures  Před 8 lety

      Oh, and make sure your in-program playback it HD. Sometimes programs, to save computer processing speed, plays back at a lower quality. Double check you are exporting full HD as well. Sometimes the defaults are set lower due to computer specs

      Susanfaery " Ya gotta love a woman who is comfortable with a gun" Why? So you can end up having an argument and her shooting you. But you are from the Ca Bay area so it figures!

      cagno1 Wow, such hostility. I might be from the Bay Area, but I am definitely not one of those liberal brain washed douches. I am a card carrying NRA member and if I were to have an argument with my GF the guns would most likely be locked in the safe and we would have to wrestle or some other fun way of resolving it. ;) I only live in the Bay Area for work. If I had my preference I would definitely be out in "Free" America! And I personally like people who are comfortable with firearms.

      Susanfaery My point is its a necessary evil. You must never be comfortable with a gun. Just like a chainsaw a mistake can happen. The gun should be taken more seriously and never treated like a household item. I believe in the constitution and do not trust the GOP. The bill of rights is going and whose side are they on? I fear it can only get worse, so to clear the semantics; I interpreted your remark to be easy access to and common use of a gun which in turn leads to disrespect of its danger. Accidents then happen. At a time when the civil liberties of the people are threatened by the corrupt establishment on the hill backed by the unseen enemy, treat the gun with the most respect. It may be needed to save your way of life.

      cagno1 Cagno1, I completely agree. And you make excellent points. I should have worded my comment better. Being comfortable with a weapon to me is being able to handle it safely, with all of the respect required and not be afraid of the boom or of when something happens and it stops working properly. Being complacent on the other hand to me would be treating it as a household item. I have seen so many idiots at the range spinning a pistol on their finger, and I will call them on it right then and there. Rule number 1, a firearm is always loaded. I have seen negligent discharges at the range before. In a class I was taking a woman next to me shot herself in the foot because she wasn't paying attention. (Luckily I am a trained medic and had my ventilated operator kit handy). So I pay the utmost attention to what I am doing when around weapons. I teach firearms part time as well and more than anything else I stress the safety rules. As for the idiots in the District of Criminals, I don't trust a single one of them. If they sound like they want something good for us, you can bet some other idiot is giving them lots of money to say one thing and do the exact opposite. Anyway, before I turn this into a rant, It is a serious responsibility to own firearms. And I like to give it the seriousness it deserves. I have to date never had an accident or negligent discharge and I strive to keep it that way.

    Are you sure he is you dad. I cannot see the resemblance. Maybe that's why he doesn't want to be videoed. I'd take the test if I were you.
