Wondering if you are planning to skip the areas of the trail you have already done in the Sierras. I've been all over the San Jacintos. Used to be one of my back yard playground when I lived in Riverside County. I was only an hour and a half from there. I used to Trail Angel from under the Hwy 10 bridge.

You disappeared and showed up way later talking about poodle bush. Had to grin. I PCTed in 2015 and still remember the hike down that mountain.

NO WAY! I can't wait till the Seirras! Lol. I feel like I'll see them with fresh eyes and it'll be a totally different experience.

Are you using a cell phone for the entire trip? I can't imagine you ditched all of your awesome camera equipment!
Burn the boots, trail runners are the answer.
My feet feel great. I'm almost at mile 800. The answer to footwear has always been, "whatever works best for YOU."
