I always appreciate how detailed your videos are. You are not just an artist, you are an educator and a role model.
Thank you so much 😀
I love seeing the finished project in the thumbnail, and then watching the intricacies of how it was achieved. For me that was what first caught my eye, then watching and listening to you talking the viewer through the process.
Thanks for watching!
Yes! Samesies!
Yep, exactly!
Exactly
@@SpragueWoodturning love the piece in the thumbnail!
I seem to be in the minority who doesn't want to see the finished item in the thumbnail. I understand that the finished look will probably attract more viewers but I am always going to watch your videos anyway. I really enjoy them and learn so much. Thanks.
Fair enough, thanks for watching!
your loyal fans will watch no matter what the thumbnail is, finished thumbnails will bring in everyone
Thanks!
My Dear Friend - you can't please everyone, usually not even a few. Most of us are here to see you work your art from start to finish - that means your thumbnails and what you plan to do with your art. For the critics, I bet they're having problems with control in their own lives and are trying their frustrations on you. Just do you 💘
Thank you very much!
I'm sure already that this is going to be great. Re. The he thumbnail, final product every time - it makes it a bit like a traditional detective story (which I love). Every time something goes wrong, I'm sitting here exercising my brain, thinking - " how is Jim going to get there from here?
Awesome, thanks!
Don't apologize for long videos -- they're long because you have lots to say and I want to hear it all. Also, I prefer thumbnails of the finished project because they highlight YOUR favorite perspective of the objects. Your thoughts are informed by all the elements of planning and execution, which can be very different from the thoughts of a casual observer.
Thank you very much!
I totally agree. You cater to a certain demographic that wants to learn and understand as much as possible. So more is better if it's important. And you're really good at determining what is important. As a decisive person, your vids don't wander aimlessly as your audience wonders where you're going with it. You say what must be said and keep it all moving, so we trust there's a reason it takes a while to get there!
My vote is to keep the thumbnail...I love to see the finished project first, and then watch you create the piece of art that you show in the thumbnail.
Thank you very much
I love to see the finished piece in the thumbnail,it draws people to watch it if they don’t know your channel. This is a beautiful project,I know it’s hard work but it’s going to be awesome.
Thank you so much 😀
When I saw this week’s thumbnail, I was surprised. My first thought was: Jim has a surprise in store for us! Anticipation/surprise is always good; however, I rewatch many of your videos more than once and I choose the videos to rewatch by the end product.
So I guess I like the finished product thumbnail better. Recommend that you occasionally toss in one like this when the end product is going to be a surprise. Also recommend adding part1, 2, 3 etc if necessary
Thanks, your advice is always welcomed. Thanks for watching.
The thumbnails are what help me decide which videos I'm going to watch. I look for the interesting-looking ones and then work my way through.
Thank you very much!
I vote for the finished thumbnail. Designer Epoxy.
Thank you very much
I love seeing the finished pieces in the thumbnails. Sometimes that's the only reason I click on the channel. I know this piece will turn out beautiful just like all your others do. No matter what ever mistakes were made in making it, the piece always turns out awesomely beautiful.
Thank you very much
Both finished and beginning stage thumbnail pics have their merits. I do enjoy watching and wondering what it is going to become, but the finished pic probably draws more attention. Personally, I will watch either way, love the content, both your work and personality make your videos highly entertaining.
Thank you very much
I'm a relatively new viewer. The thumbnail is why I clicked on your first video. I was interested in learning to turn bowls. I saw a beautiful bowl thumbnail and clicked it. Now your my primary bowl turning channel. I'm still working my way through your back catalog.
Awesome! Thank you!
thumbnail of the finished project is what got me to watch most of your videos.
Thanks!
I love watching you work. So relaxing after teaching 3rd grade all day. I'm going back and watching your older videos during the week. It's so fun to see you develop your technique.
You poor woman, I feel for you, lol. Thanks for watching
Love the idea. Love the colors. Can't wait to see the finished project. As for the question of the thumbnails, I like to see the finished project first, and then watch to see how it was made.
Thanks for commenting, I don’t know how you seen this video yet, it wasn’t supposed to go live until 9am eastern? This happens occasionally and I don’t know why, lol.
I definitely think you should keep the thumbnail showing the finished product as this way you are attracting more followers. It was one of your peacock vlogs that caught my eye. As a result I am totally addicted to your vlogs and have nearly watched all your wood a resin projects. Scary really as I only found you a few weeks ago. I absolutely love you showing all the ups and downs you go through a find myself chuckling along. Very entertaining. Thank you.
Welcome aboard! Thank you very much!
If it's a natural log, I like to see it as the thumbnail, because I'm intrigued about what's going to happen with it. If it's a segmented piece, I like to see the finished piece as the thumbnail. However, you are one of the turners that could post a picture of Barney the Dinosaur and I would still watch, because you never disappoint!
Lol, thank you very much!
Don't change the thumbnail. Part of the "wow" factor for me is having the glimpse of the end the seeing how far away the finished product is. It gives me hope and helps me see what the wood in my workshop might become.
Thanks for watching
Agree!
So looking forward to part 2. I like the finished piece in the thumbnail. Thank you so kindly for sharing your wonderful talents with us. Take care, keep warm and safe.
Thank you so much!
I think it’s cool to see the finished project in the thumbnail. It’s why I choose to watch
Noted, thanks!
I like seeing the finished project in the thumbnail. That's how I found your channel. I thought the project looked neat and I wanted to see how it was achieved. I can see where loyal followers would like to be surprised, but I think showing the finished product will help draw in new subscribers.
Awesome! Thank you!
Man what a big
piece … lovely wood .. love the rings .. and that new colour is gorgeous , can’t wait til next week 😊❤
Thank you very much!
I love all of your videos especially the awesome effects that you create using Designer Epoxy with wood or seed pods or pine cones. Nice work 👍🏻
Thank you very much!
I watch your videos for your work. Don't really care what your thumbnail shows, but it is nice to see what your finish product will look like. Keep up the great work.
Cool, thanks
I think most people would want to see the finished product. As for me, I know that whatever you’re working on is going to be really interesting so I’m watching regardless. Looking forward to seeing the results.
Thank you very much!
Jim, as usual your off to a great start! Turning such a large piece is very impressive. Combinations of colors is nice. For the thumb nails I would do a finished piece. Your building quite subscriber count!
“Designer Epoxy”
Many thanks!
Loving it so far! I agree with those who’ve said it would make a beautiful side table! But it will be beautiful whatever you make it. As for the thumbnail, I don’t like to have the surprise ruined, but I understand that people will see it, be intrigued, and click to watch the video and see how you got there. I suppose you kinda have to go with a finished piece in the thumbnail, so I just won’t look too closely.
Lol, thanks for watching!
As to the question you asked everyone, I am frustrating in as much as I know what to expect from you, so I will watch no matter what you put in the thumbnails. On a different note, I would like to work a week in your workshop for a week or so, I would learn a lot.
Thanks for that!
The finished piece is what attracts me. The thumbnail is small enough that the end product is still different when on the video itself.
Thank you very much
This looks cool so far. Can’t wait for two weeks to see final piece. As far as thumbnail, I think you could mix em up. Show some finished and show some at various places in other projects. For me, I am tuning in when the video launches so doesn’t matter for your projects. Keep up the good work!
Ok thanks!
This is looking amazing so far! Can't wait to see the finished piece. As for the thumbnail, I personally like the finished thumbnail because I like to see the process of what you go through to get there. However, I can also understand not wanting it to be spoiled. Is there a way to make the thumbnail be the raw materials and then when you hover the curser over it the finished product will show? That would be pretty cool. But, I'm a complete youtube novice and don't know if that's even possible. One last thought, I think the technique of filling the cracks with gold is very cool, and a nod to the Kintsugi process. However, when working with the cooler color tones, like the blue in this piece, I think that putting silver in the cracks would be absolutely stunning as well. Keep up the great work!!
Don’t think that technology exists yet, silver certainly would of worked too. Thanks for watching!
I personally love to see the finished product in the thumbnail. I do believe it draws people to the videos. You see this gorgeous item and you are just absolutely intrigued by it and how it could have been created.
I totally agree! Thanks
Spoken like a true Canadian, “the reason I’m using this….because that’s what I’ve got”. Classic Canadian. That made me chuckle. Then you saved the hot glue, Red Green would be proud, and Wayne and Shuster too. Lol Thought I’d throw those two in the end, for the old Canadians. Lol 🍁
Looking forward to part two. Sounds like I’ll have to wait two weeks though, and I’m not the patient type. Sucks to be me. Lol
Designer Epoxy
Too funny, thanks for watching!
We like to see the finished product on the thumbnail is our vote
Thanks!
Definitely the finished product for the thumbnail.
Designer Epoxy
Got it! Thanks for watching!
I am drawn to the thumbnail picture because I want to find out how you made it. I also very much enjoy the good, the bad, and the ugly truth about how you make your projects. That is very educational for me to see the whole process even though the video my run long. Or have two parts. I feel that is why your videos are so good and popular. Your are creating very real content as it happens while practicing your craft.
Keep up the great work.
Thank you very much
I found your channel because of the beauty of your piece in a thumbnails.
Thank you very much!
Really looking forward to seeing the finished piece. For what my opinion is worth, I prefer to see the end result in the thumbnail, and the journey to to the fabulous creation in the video. Keep up the fantastic work, it's appreciated by us all! 👍
Fair enough! Thanks for watching
I like thumbnails showing the completed piece. Designer Epoxy.
Thank you very much
Two weeks! That’s going to be tough waiting out.. thumbnail…doesn’t matter to me, I enjoy watching the beautiful work that you do. Designer epoxy
Thank you so much!
Jim, I personally like the finished thumbnail that gives a glimpse of what we can expect.
The wall art looks to be a beautiful piece in the making. Can't wait for the big reveal
Awesome, thank you!
It's usually the finished thumbnail that draws in new viewers, however I will watch it either way.
Thanks 😊
The finished Thumbnail is going to attract more viewers. I watch all of your videos now so it doesn't matter what the thumbnails look like!
Thank you very much
I love seeing the finished piece in the thumbnail. Then the video to get there is the learning experience. It’s your channel, you do as you like to do. I’ll still be watching
Thank you very much!
I also will click on an interesting thumbnail. I believe to grow you channel you need folks to click. A finished project helps me to decide how to spend my time. I’m sure others feel the same. Looking forward to next week.
Agreed, thanks!
I can go either way on the thumbnail...I'll watch it regardless as I watch all my subscriptions!!
Thank you very much!
I personally like the finished thumbnail in the beginning. For me it’s the hook, so I agree with you there. I’m a bookmaker and painter so I am fascinated with your art! I have always loved all things wood and I can’t tell you how much I admire your obvious love of and understanding as you approach different wood possibilities. I so appreciate your commentary and discussion of different challenges, it lets me feel as if I am there in your shop. Thank you for educating me about wood and sharing your creativity and artistic visions! I really love your channel!!
It’s my pleasure! Thanks
I’m guilty… I watched part 2 first! It was so much work that I had to skip the first part. It is so beautiful! I love the outcome of this giant piece of beautiful wood.
Great job! I love it!
Thank you very much!
The thumbnail is what brought me to your channel in the first place!
Got it, thanks!
Either or, providing a thumbnail image is nice. Your explanation on what happens during the process is great to know.
Thank you very much
I prefer a thumbnail with the beautiful finished design.
Fair enough! Thanks for watching
The thumbnail is what grabs my attention and I enjoy watching how you get there.
Thank you very much
Hi Jim, I didn't know DESIGNER EPOXY makes fast setting one, thanks for sharing that. I like thumbnails showing the finished product, rather than the raw material.
They sure do, don’t do what I did though 🙄🙄. Thanks for watching
You really are pushing the envelope on what Designer Epoxy can do with this piece. Looking forward to the finished piece.
Stuart
Thank you very much!
I prefer to see a finished thumbnail
This is really going to be beautiful can't wait to see the finished piece
Thank you very much
Keep the Thumbnails. It's what drew me in at the first.🌿
Got it, thanks!
Designer Epoxy. I can't wait to see it finished.
You and me both! Thanks
As for Myself, I prefer the thumbnail to be the finished product. I think it's a better advertisement for the channel. Designer Epoxy
Agreed, thanks!
I like having a finished project preview in the thumbnail!!
Thanks for watching
i like to see the finished piece, then the process... if people want to be surprized, then squint at the thumbnail then click on it! can't wait to see the whole thing!
Thanks 😊
This piece is stunning. Personally I prefer the thumbnail. Love the Designer Epoxy colors in this piece. Looking forward to seeing the finished piece
Thank you very much!
I definitely like the finished result thumbnail so I can easily find older videos to watch again. Looking forward to part 2 !!
Designer epoxy
Awesome! Thank you!
We like seeing the finished product in the thumbnail. Looking forward to next week
Thank you very much!
(Designer Epoxy). I prefer to see a thumbnail with a finished product. It’s gives me some design ideas as well as a reason to follow your process to achieve an end product. Thanks , Ken- in warmer Texas.
I’m jealous of that warm weather! Thanks for watching!
I would watch no matter what you put in the thumbnail! Keep up the great work.
I appreciate that! Thanks
Don´t change the way of your thumbnails, please. I love to see the finished pieces there. And then I click it to see how you achieved it. ;-) Looking forward to see this wonderful piece in part two!
Thanks for watching
Thanks for taking time to teach some in this video. As far as thumbnails, I don't pay attention. When Friday comes, I know there is a new video from you to watch, so I watch.
Thank you very much!
I love seeing the finished product in the thumbnail.
Thanks 😊
I like the thumbnail. I watch every video you produce regardless, but I like seeing the finished product then the process to get there.
Thanks for watching
I love seeing the thumbnail of the finished project. That way I understand why you’re doing what you’re doing during the project and I can follow you more easily. Thank you.
Thank you very much!
I fell asleep my first attempt to see this to the end. I cant WAIT to see part 2. As always Jim you create something unique and outstanding.
Thanks for watching
I like seeing the finished project in the thumbnail
Thank you very much
What a project! 🥰. I definitively prefer to see the final project in the thumbnail, I always look at the videos with the perspective of seeing how to get to that final result.
Awesome! Thank you!
I am a fan of the thumbnails. I like to know what’s coming. Designer Epoxy.
Me too! Thanks!
I like the finished thumbnail...it's what catches the eye.
Thank you very much
I like the thumbnail of the finished product.
Thanks for watching
Designer Epoxy give away. As for thumbnails....when I first started turning it was the finished product that caught my eye to watch the video. But lately it is the name of the turner. I look forward to Friday postings from you, and other favorite turners on their weekly day. Cheers, keep up the great work
Thank you very much!
Jim never really thought about the thumbnail I just go to see your video each week but for new people just coming across it probably putting the finished piece is the way to go. Looking forward to part 2.
Thank you very much!
Oh that Butternut is so pretty! I am like you Jim, if I see a thumb nail that catches my eye I tend to click on it and see what it is about. Those new colors are so beautiful!!!!
Thanks so much!
I like the finished thumbnail. When I scroll if it intrigues me I’ll watch it except for a couple channels which I watch every issue like yours.
Wow, thank you very much!
Can't wait to see the second video. "Designer Epoxy" 🙂 As for the thumbnails, I have to agree with you in that if the thumbnail looks interesting, I'll click on it. Again, looking forward to the follow up video.
Thank you very much!
After watching that, I have a new respect for hot glue. Great job 🇦🇺
Thanks for watching!
I like seeing the finished thumbnail. That’s what makes me watch a new channel. If it’s you or someone else I already follow I’d watch it either way.
Thank you very much
I like seeing the thumbnail. The projects you are the best looking on you tube. I have watched other turners not only are they not doing the quality of work you are doing they don't explain what they are doing. That being said if you want to come out in a clown suit and do your magic I'm still going to watch.
Hold on, let me get dressed up, hahaha. Thanks for watching
I like the thumbnails. There’s always going to be naysayers! You do you! It makes me anticipate the process of how to do it!
Thank you very much
HELLO, THEIR BUDDY. THAT GOING TO LOOK GREAT. I CAN'T WAITE TO SEE THE FINISH TURNING. FROM DOUG

Wow, thank you!
Just sticks in the thumb nail for me! Designer epoxy for the win 🎉
Thanks for your input!

I totally agree! Thanks
Thumbnails are attractive. I say keep ‘em as is!
Will do, thanks!
I have learned so much from you. I hope you never stop your teaching thank you very much
