I am fascintated by Link's relationship with food. I admire how he can appreciate each bite and isn't pressured to consume his meal quickly.
I think he said he calculates each bite.
@@sybaritesphynx8057 Really? He's just like me frrrrr 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
He's a dweeb
ah yes, because him taking a bite, enjoying the flavors, and giving it a rating of 5. real fascinating and much appreciation goes on there 😂😂😂
I finally agree with Link on something! The best bite should always be saved for last. Especially with steak
I was surprised to learn that people don't do this haha!
I don't know, I like my steak warm. If I save the best bit for last, it'd be cold.
But then it's cold and you're full, so you can't fully enjoy it. Makes no sense to me.
I agree with you guys when it comes to cold or fresh foods. But I like my steak warm warm ^_^
Yeah that’s also what I do!
The best thing about the More episodes is Link's lackluster explanations of what they're going to do. "We're going to be cuttin some stuff and showing you the superior way to do each of the things." OK, got it.
A good mythical more where Rhett and Link have to guess what that utensil is used for - with things like pastry forks, sugar tongs, chopstick rests etc. Would maybe be interesting and I sort of bet Rhett would know more 😂
I work at an auction house and we play this game w all the fancy single purpose silverware! Would be fun to watch them play
they did something similar before: are u using the wrong spoon
Y’all keep forgetting to do the “unscrew the arm, lick the fingers, slap the wrist”! That would have been the perfect ending to the rap-spelling!
I've been waiting for this! 😂❤️
Do you remember which episode this was? All I remember is that it was fairly recent
@@kly617 pretty sure it was the most recent food crimes vid
@@cowboylikebri you're right! It's at 15:19 to be exact
Please note that in an episode involving knives, only one of the guys stabbed themself today....and it wasn't Link. 😅
Except, Rhett stabbed himself with the fork, not the knife. lol
Swapping forks is American etiquette. In Australia (and I assume some other countries) you are meant to keep the fork in the left. It's interesting how etiquette can vary between countries.
Most of Europe would say you're correct. Especially at the "posh" venues.
I’ve never heard of swapping the fork to be fair, even at some big fancy, tuxedo-only banquets I’ve been to, I’ve never seen that.
Canada too. I've never heard of the switching hands thing.
Swapping the fork is what kids do.
American here. I never swap fork hands.
It really sounded like someone started a halfhearted clap for Link after he whittled his mango, but he deserved a full hearted round of applause from everyone
We'll give him a round of applause Misty. 😊🌎✨
For the pancakes, I enjoy cutting an X with a knife through the center of all the stacked pancakes. Then pour the syrup on the top where it can soak down into the center of every pancake below it. That way each pancake has syrup already soaked into it and the bottom cakes won't be dry when you get to them
I take this a bit farther, and will cut the entire stack into a grid, so the syrup gets into every bite.
@@marutakelers1856 Thats called a waffle lol.
@@AJTheriot3 Literally lmao
I’m 41 and I love pancakes and I’ve never done this. You just changed my life. Many thanks.
I haven't had pancakes in years, but I always used to pour syrup on each layer as I stacked them.
It's also the majority UK and European style of slicing and biting for steak, and not impolite at all there. Also, it saves time and kinda makes more sense than switching every bite, right? So, Rhett: we're still good!
Switching seems very weird, I’d never heard of that before
It's good in southern usa too
@@nicholasm3265 oh I didn't know that!
Kinda a them thing
Like Link I'll save the best for last, but I cut it like Rhett does.
I'm impressed with the way Link peeled that mango. Mostly because there was no blood involved.
The amount of sheer willpower it took for Rhett not to bite that sandwich is commendable.
Both bethods of mango preparation gave me such awful anxiety.
No kidding! I thought someone was going to try the glass hack and break it but… nobody even… I hated it.
I can’t believe they actually let Link hold a knife for more than 10 seconds. I’m even more surprised there wasn’t blood 😂
I couldn’t watch-I had to cover his side of the screen because he made me so nervous!
that bit got old
Very proud of Link for cutting the mango leaving all fingers intact.
I'm with Link, I always calculate every bite
I wholeheartedly agree with the way link cuts his sandwiches. u get a whole sandwich pocket. while it feels like 1/3 of a diagonal slice is just crusty edges
The pause and judgmental laugh link did before saying “you like to be alone don’t cha” had me floored 😂
Watching Link successfully whittle the Mango was actually rather satisfying!
Fun fact: Mangoes are in the same family as poison ivy and as a result contain urushiol. I've had students come on trips with me down to the Lesser Antilles who'd never eaten a mango bite right in to the skin and end up looking like they had the herpalerpalerpalies.
WHAAAAAT
Herpalerpalerpies 🤣
Yep, I’ve unfortunately had a few reactions to mangoes. I don’t bite into them, but if the same knife that’s used to peel them is used for slicing, the residue remains and gives me a reaction.
Wow that was fun?
Rhett's drawing of Link is adorable
Rhett gaslighting Link into thinking he's peeling incorrectly 🤣 Come on Rhett! We know he's dangerous with sharp stuff, but you gotta do him like that?! 😅
My grandfather once told me, that in WII you could tell if someone was a spy by how they ate. Americans switch hands after cutting, others did not.
Yeah I thought it was strange that etiquette in the US. In the UK you just keep hold of your cutlery and keep your elbows down
Link's relationship with food amazes me.
Everyone says switching hands is "American" style, but many of us have never heard of it, and America is huge! It's more likely regional. Maybe New England? We don't switch hands in the South.
It's still American, much like something can be European but not applicable for all European countries. :) Also, these guys are southern... so... probably not only New England.
@@thespankmyfrank No, it's not. Shut up.
I would love to see an entire series of Rhett and Link to Ettiquette Classes!
The story behind that shirt is the sweetest thing ever!!!
"You also have all these items over there too." (In Rhett's mind he's thinking "You have all those items so stay over there with the knife.") 🤣
This episode was a lot better than I initially thought it was going to be
Link's argument about the sandwich crusts is something I've never thought of
Good mythical morning everyone
Me at 10pm
Good mythical afternoon
GMM 👍🌍
I freaking love More, it's so chill and personal. This was great, happy vibes.
I recently found you can just use a potato peeler on a mango. Never dreamed one would be able to get through the skin.
of course I calculate my final Bite, need to make sure I have enough of main and side to get the perfect mix for the last one
Huh, you know what when they were discussing this on the episode I immediately thought that's weird. But I think I do that too, I just don't think about it. It's just something I do and It's just a part of most meals I don't realise I'm doing.
You gotta keep it serrated...very clever Rhett, I laughed hard at that one!! 🤣😂🤣😂 I don't know if anyone else caught that reference? 🤔
Tattarrattat - the new, alternate evolution to Rattata!
Rattata was literally the first thing I thought of when that word came up! 😂
You know what they should’ve used to cut things? That sword! Then place it in a better spot🗡
If you don't switch hands it is continental style (European), if you switch hands it is American style.
I'm jus gonna say, discovering you guys (mythical) helped a lot. Just the good natured, carefree, and untethered approach in itself means so much it's impossible to put into words. It's nice to have moments of a connected yet freeing distraction through relatable innocent humor not build on the backbone of just satire. thank you.
At 18:22, did Rhett just make a 'The Offspring' Joke?
Definitely
Definitely
When he started saying Stephanie I was so tickled 🤣😂🤣
we are all oddly proud of Linky.🥭🥭🥭🥭🔪🔪🔪🔪
Rhett's "you gotta keep em serrated" joke was disappointingly unappreciated 😂
The things they do with food when nobody else is around is so funny
I like the icing on the cake more than the cake itself so I go for the cake first then the icing
At our house we are always debating between NY strip and a ribeye …. We have bought both many times with my husband trying to convince us that ribeye is the better one , but my oldest son and I keep picking the NY strip. My youngest is non verbal and a very picky eater , however will down some steak. He doesn’t care he just likes steak. (We all agree using our pellet grill makes the best steaks)
I greatly prefer ribeye to a strip.
Filet
Ribeye
Then NY Strip
With pancakes, I cut it like a cake or a pie, like how link was suggesting to cut a cake
That’s exactly what I do! And I never thought anything of it until I was at IHOP with a friend of mine and we ordered breakfast and I looked up from my pancakes and he was just staring at my plate and I said ‘What?’ And he reacted like that was the weirdest thing he’d ever seen in life 😂
I always cut the whole stack into bite sized pieces so the syrup get more evenly distributed instead of the top pancake getting it all.
Rhett’s attitude in this is giving me anxiety. Who cares how others do things? Let the tigers tiger! Let the Link Link!
More bites with crust??? Cutting it diagonal doesn't change how much crust there is link! Haha.
once Link got a hang of peeling the mango 🥭 it got pretty satisfying
Oh my - the pancakes - where is the butter?? Also hope that is pure Canadian maple syrup (I'm CND) or from the upper New England states! We Canucks are peaceful and willing to share the glory of true maple syrup with our US friends. 😀
The way Rhett cut that mango is revolutionary. 🤯
Isn't tataratat also an onomatopoeia? That also has to be a record. It's the only palindrome (and longest) that is also an onomatopoeia (also longest?).
I always told my kids that cutting a sandwich on a angle makes it taste better and of course they would say NO IT DOESNT DAD. Lmao. But I did some research and it's true. Cutting a sandwich on a angle does make it taste better cause you take a bigger bite and get more flavor. According to studies that have been done on this topic
Link fixing the pancake stack was very in character
i love bread crust so i don't care if i get more crust lol, i am likely one of the few who stars with the ends of a loaf before going to slices.
!! I'm the only person I know who does it, but does anyone else cut their sandwiches into 4 squares or 4 triangles?
◼️◼️
◼️◼️ Or that but with triangles
You might have just changed my life
@@MrDemarius1for better, I hope😅 that makes me so happy 🤭
Many people do. I've done that multiple times throughout my life.
4 triangles. Especially for pb&j.
@@englishatheart I'm sure😅 it's just that I didn't know of anyone else who did. They're so much more enjoyable that way 🤭
Link’s shirt is adorable
Rhett's face and exasperated "Why?" after Link cuts the sandwich is all of us.
18:22 Was that an Offspring reference/pun? I caught that.
My mind immediately started singing, “You gotta keep 'em separated” after he said it.
Then I wondered if he did it on purpose.
Then I thought, “Yea, he definitely knew what he was saying.”
I've had a lot of mangoes over the years and I was just wishing the whole time in this episode that I could go there and show them how it's done, or at least the ways my family has always done it. Like making a mango cheek flower!
This is one of my favorite GM More episodes, it was enjoyable 😂
Those steaks look good. Rhett's hair also looks good today.
Don't know exactly how to explain it, but cutting a sandwich down the middle leaves the contents of it more intact if that makes any sense. Diagonally seems to smush everything more.
This episode is HILARIOUS! 🤣🤣
5:45 rhett got personally offended about how link cuts his sandwich😭 me too tho! mans went “why?”😟
I cut pancakes on diameters until all of the “triangles” are bite sized. So it’s like a wheel of cuts that make perfect bite sized pieces
If you have a moustache, triangles are a must
I can see that
I recently bought a set of three vegetable / fruit knives, and the first time I used them, I managed to cut myself twice. Somehow, watching Link peel that mango reminded me of that.😀
Rhett's favorite is a tenderloin and then a New York strip. I'm surprised he doesn't get a T-bone and have both?
Filet and New York strip. Not tenderloin.
@@hideyourloveaway128 Filet Mignon is cut from the beef tenderloin. Filet is tenderloin.
@@hideyourloveaway128 Tenderloin IS Filet
Hi from Scotland hope you're all safe and well my friends 👍😉✌️
Fellow Scot hello 👋
Hi this is really sweet
The mango bit is like Kendall and the cucumber
New York strip is fire; right there with you Rhett.
This is my favorite GMMOREROMOREROMOREROMOREEE to date
As time goes on some episodes are WTF? Keep them coming!
I think a square cut sandwich looks nicer, but I always prefer a triangle because it gives you nice starting points, if you cut its square its just easier to handle than a full sandwich
I love the way this cake is cut
As an Australian I have to say that watching people cut with a fork as their preference is so hard to watch. The violent attempts at cutting through things with a fork when a knife exists for that exact purpose just hurts haha...
i love the opening scene🤣🤣
The sandwich part of this episode is so funny
For sandwiches it’s triangles if it includes salad, rectangles if it doesn’t. Facts
We actually had rules similar to that when I did restaurant work so that we could make sure all of the orders were right without having to second guess anything ...
the last two minutes of this More were golden
I think it depends on the type of bread. Sometimes a diagonal slice makes the sandwich look strange. I cut it vertically because that way I get my favorite bite, and that is the little part where top and bottom crust meet. You cannot get more crust cutting on a diagonal, the bread slices will have the same amount of crust to bread ratio whether it's cut or left whole.
with pancakes I need a knife to cut it like a pie, my father always questioned why I ate them like that. All I can say is that each triangle is the perfect size for one bite of pancake, I don't have to work through my meal, it's all done at the beginning.
Tattarattat is the first word I've been able to know the definition for What's The Word 🤣
Syrup is a sauce.
NY strip is definitely the most consistent cut
Watching yall cut those mangoes was painful!! LOL
I’m going to assume link’s inability with knives is now legendary
Well it never cesses to amaze me that link has all his fingers by the end of a knife episode
The mango situation reminded me of that song, “Wango Tango!”
🤣😂
"Ya gotta your steak at a bias!"
Good ol' 90 days fiance.
I love Link 🤣 but who in their right mind let him hold that knife!
18:31 Link sounding like his dad 😂
I'm like Rhett for cake and cutting a sandwich...it's the best part!
Wait, that intro was actually surprising because I couldn't even spell something forward, let alone forward then backward that many times, consecutively
That Steve Jobs joke was underrated. My stomach hurts from laughing so hard!! 🤣🤣🤣
I hope the guy from the wheel video is watching this! I would be so stoked if I was him!😂
Fantastic episode
On a Sunday roast here in the UK I aways leave my Yorkshire puddings till last because that my favourite part of the Sunday roast 🙂
