I had to look it up, I found that it's used to get rid of dark underarms because cucumber is soothing and calming and has bleaching agents. Interesting
That makes a lot of sense considering people put them on their eyes to help with dark circles and puffiness

@@aSinisterKiid there are skin conditions that cause discoloration in skin folds, such as an armpit. Almost like calluses.
Oh I have that issue and that could be pretty useful for me
@@LO42191990 (also if you have a darker complexion you are more prone to hyperpigmentation. so skin irritation, when healed, can lead to dark underarms. and also genetics, diabetes and pcos. basically i’m saying there are many causes of dark underarms that don’t have to be a skin condition, if anyone’s worried)

I love how we _completely_ get that Link meant that you should feel comfortable and empowered to ask why your friends do weird things to you. But also came to the self-realization of it sounding like victim blaming for not doing it. AND then over-explained both anyway.

In order to get rid of dark underarms, you can use cucumber to soothe and calm the area. Furthermore, cucumbers have bleaching agents that lighten the skin.

Cucumber decreases the darkness of the skin. Googled it. Darker skin in places on the body is a thing and unfortunately people are insecure about it.
i googled it, just like it helps lift dark circles under your eyes, it helps with dark under arms. so it helps sooth your underarms and help clear up the darkness

Person of colour here: anyone with olive/tan to deeper skin tones sometimes have to deal with pigmented underarms. A natural way to I guess "lighten" the area if it bothers you is to apply stuff from cucumbers to lemons to weird baking soda pastes. That's without a doubt what the roommate was doing and I guess they were embarrassed to talk about it.
Apparently some people use cucumber to lighten up their armpits.... Not sure how that works but alrighty

It took like 30 seconds of googling. But apparently it lightens and helps reduce swelling. Apparently it's the same reason they use cucumbers slices over the eyes at spas and stuff, cuz it gets rid of the dark circles under your eyes.
