10 minutes Fish and Chips. (batter, crispy fish, skinny chips, tartar sauce, lemon slice)
Batter: (slight runny consistency, just dropping through whisk)
Self raising flour (120g)
Baking powder (tsp)
Curry powder (colour)
Ice cold beer
Aerated egg whites, whisked 3/4s(touch of salt not too early)
Crispy fish:
Cod fish slice
Lightly season
Into self-raising flour touched with curry powder
Knock off excess flour
Coat/dip completely in batter
Shallow fried (3-3.5 mins)
Finish in the oven for crispy finish (2 mins)
Skinny chips:
Dry potatoes, rid of starch and moisture (rub with paper towel)
Shallow blanch (touch of cold oil to reduce oil temperature)
Shallow fry (crunch and colour)
Touch of salt
Pat them dry
Tartar sauce:
Crème fraîche
Mayonnaise
Gurkins (diced)
Tabasco (touch of heat)
Salt (touch)
Shallots (chopped)
Squeeze of lemon
Serve with slice of lemon.
Oil temperature control:
Shallow fry, splash of cold oil if frying oil gets too hot

This is not a true 10 minutes cook time. Chef already had the fish prepped and ingredients set up and measured out. That prep time needs to be added to the 10 minutes.

My husband is English, born and bread in London and let me tell you, he makes the best fish and chips I've ever tasted. He deep fries the chips twice and it makes such a difference and the batter for the fish is outrageous.

I made this tonight as I so miss the fabulous fish & chips I used to get on London streets, hot, wrapped in newspaper, with malt vinegar. I just sat on the step outside the shop and ate it. Incredible. I knew GR would have an amazing recipe and he did not disappoint! Took me longer than 10:30 second tho haha. Especially because I had to turn my all purpose flour into rising flower. But this recipe is easy and SO worth the effort. Will definitely be doing this again. Be sure to watch this video and another video he made regarding this recipe before you do it as it helps because this all cooks fast. Also don't make the mistake I made and stack the fish in a pie pan with foil and a little vinegar drizzled over it, then covered in foil when keeping it warm. It will mush your bottom pieces. That's how we learn, right? :) THANK YOU CHEF!

I used to work at one of the famous fish & chips in Scotland & his Fish batter secret is 100 gram rice flour & 100 gram plain flour mixture with 70 ml Cold Vodka & 110 ml Cold Dark Ale/Beer in to Fish batter mixture with 1 spoon honey & little salt and add Yeast half a tea spoon... keep it in to fridge for 30 mins. Take out from fridge. take cod/haddock dry it & dip in to dry plain flour then dip in to fish batter mix & fry it on 360 degree F. . Enjoy & give it a try at home & enjoy with your family & friends & please don't forget to give me bless...Please...Remember me in your prayer...Thank You & love you all..

@@jesustarin7501 same, actually an abusive relationship which lead to no relationship until they died. I have 4 daughters and they are all in their 30s now. Every one of my daughters can joke with me about their relationships and even intimate mishaps. I realized my parents supplied me with the knowledge of what not to do and made sure I passed on something much different to my children. I have 6 grandchildren and they are all happy and healthy and have a loving mother and father in their lives. If I do nothing for the rest of my life I know I've contributed to society in a good way and my grandchildren will pass those traits on. Peace.

@L Le honestly they deserve it have you seen how dirty those kitchens are, some of them really deserve to be yelled at. and hells kitchen is supposed to hell; it's all planned that he would be tough on them! but as you watch more and more videoes of him you realize that his "anger" is mostly just for show and the cameras, he's really such a good dude with a big heart!

@@Grayson4795 I don't have any sort of hospitality background so it was interesting to watch one of his shows with a chef friend of mine who's run kitchens before. She was saying that she'd get pissed off too with a lot of the problems shown, and that she's had to kick asses before when a service starts going off the rails.
I'd like to talk more with her about the issues of bullying in the hospitality industry because I'm not in a position to judge. But normally she and I get together for wine and jokes so it's never really come up, haha.

I used to work at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay as Station chef for a year and everyday we hoped he didn't show up because he would go crazy on us for tiny reasons. Hes literally the same as shown on Hells kitchen. He yells at everyone and it really makes some of us pissed of by the way he treats us.

I think this video correctly humanized Gordan for a lot of people who thought him a lesser person. I'm sorry I ever thought less of him. He truly does seem an honest loving father that just kicks ass at cooking great food!
@@jamesswan1788 He is just far more serious about his passion than the average man, to the point that he comes across as mean. But professional cooking is a cut-throat business and you only survive if you deliver constant quality (i know i couldn't do it). He got bitten in the back often enough to know how fragile every restaurant project is. His TV image stems from the fact that TV productions are focusing on the drama and by now people really should be aware that this never tells the whole story.

It's not really a burn though. Gordon Ramsay can cook as fast as he talks. I've been cooking for longer than you've been alive (assuming the "97" is your birth year) and I've never seen someone as skilled as Ramsay. I've seen faster, for sure, but they are nowhere near as good. And I've even seen chefs who are more refined than Ramsay, but they don't have the speed or the wide range of abilities. Gordon Ramsay is in a class of his own. He may let his family take the piss out of him, but make no mistake: that is no burn.
