I applaud you for calling people out for giving Liliac a hard time for their new look! THANK YOU!
They have their musical skills down. They have their "Live" skills down. Dad's production and Sam's editing skills continually improve. Now they are really concentrating on defining the "Vamp Metal" image, looking for something cool and original. The concept has always been there, but now, they're looking for an image as unique as their sound. Something fresh, but also familiar.
I am a big Metallica fan for the last 26 years and they killed this cover, I highly approve. I also love the guitar squeals Sam put in that were not in the original. I heard them do this song Live when I went to go see them in concert and it sounded amazing and plus their stage presence was awesome, and ofc they changed it up a little more Live, at least vocally Melody did. As far as their look, it's about music, not looks. As far as them doing covers as much as originals, they are Independent so they can do what makes them happy.
Show us another band that can come close to this cover?

In terms of changing their looks, I’m reminded of the quote by Lemmon from Motörhead “If you're going to be a fucking rock star go be one. People don't want to see the guy next door on stage; they want to see a being from another planet. You want to see somebody you'd never meet in ordinary life.”. Let them look like they want to and change when the choose to. The music continues to be incredible.

Seeing them in June and can't wait. Like you, I feel they need to be themselves - and honestly, for a family to continue to do what they are doing, they need as much creative freedom as they can get. It will get stale to them otherwise. I followed an artist recently and went to 3 of her shows over the course of a few years... by the 3d time, she was going through the motions and lost that "fire" of enjoying what she does. She did her job. I would hate for that to happen to Liliac. Keep if funky fresh! BTW - love you guys. I probably watch your reaction to "Nothing" at least once a week. Get a kick out the eyes bulging and jaws dropping!

Hey! Wanted to say before, love the new logo. That being said, I agree. According to Papa Liliac, this new album they are recording the kids wanted to get some more Fangs their ages. Plus after turning 20 MeloDia is designing the outfit styles. I think it looks like a little retro sheek. Pardon spl. I do not care how they evolve. Music is what's important. Do you remember in 1975 I believe, when Alice Cooper took off his image and had an album completely different? I was 16. The album wasn't bad. His fans didn't go for it so his image came back. That guitar solo at the 7-minute-plus mark is as close to and nearly indistinguishable, from the original. Top notch musicians the lot of them.
Which is very cool that he can do a Kirk Hammett solo that closely at just 18-19 years of age.
I like it better when Melody played the bass. I prefer the full sound with the added rhythm guitar for a metal band. I know it is a bit of a challenge for the lead singer to play an instrument [damn, look at Dany from The Warning!], but I think she did a fine enough job with one in hands myself.

You elude to their beginnings in this reaction. Melody became a Dio fan at 15 and things evolved from there. In the beginning, the focus was on Sam becoming the lead singer and Abby was using an accordion. Just for fun, Check out the CZcams channel, The Cristeas. Their first massive hit cover was Crazy Train.
You guys should listen to The Warning next, another band of siblings. Money (Official performance video), Choke, and the live session videos of "Z" and "Evolve" are good places to start.

We the true fangs love the band and their music no matter their look or their direction as long as they stay true to their vision.there is no other metal voice even close to melody. That being said, here's a few videos I would love to see you guys do from liliac. A piece of my heart live Cummings ga, we are the children, mystery, paranoid, somebody to love, wildthing, and earliest videos from them as the cristeas, stay, say something, hey ho, and of course thriller.
Last night, Sam was on Vinny's vlog and he said that he just wanted to try something different. On Chat, I suggested he do a bright red mohawk next. lol

But, as far as no other metal voice even close to Melody, Floor Jansen of Nightwish destroys Melody as far as metal talent goes. Melody is fantastic, but definitely not "the greatest metal voice" out there.

Great reaction great new studio just a tad to much echo , thanks for saying what I've been saying since Liliac have their cool new look , every band that I can think of has with the exception of KISS changed their look as they evolved, best example is the BEATLES who changed their look several times as well as changing their music style , and I bet theres not a BEATLES fan out there who didn't love each and every incarnation , (I do admit i was a bit pissed off when the BEATLES went psychedelic because I had bought all the original look suit, boots cape and accessories and I sported a great BEATLES haircut ) but I still loved the music . Liliac is still the talented band they were when they performed this song which now has over 11 million views , they get better with every song and we fangs are lucky to have discovered them . I'm an old bloke but don't say anything bad about them within touching distance of me or you'll be wearing a thick ear .
You need to do Aldious. Another Japanese band. Do the songs Dominator, Die for you, We Are, and instrumental 3 from Radiant A Live at O-East. This band will amaze you. The singer is their ex singer.

My son, who is 36 now, likes Metallica but says they are now a bit generic. His opinion of this cover is that Liliac puts more depth into the musical aspect of the song. The long and short of this is don't feel bad about liking but not listening to Metallica. They kinda sold out. These kids are something else. I hope they never sell out.
Personally speaking, i have listened to more Metallica covers done by Liliac than i have listened to Metallica.
I'm with you. Metallica lost the passion along the way. Respect for paving the way but maybe artists I listened to through NAPSTER are better.

And luckily you don't have to follow us if you don't want to. Everyone has their own taste and preference for music. Metallica is just one of the bands that we never really got into, that doesn't mean they are not good in their way, it's just not for us. Pretty sure there are a bunch of bands that you also don't like...
I really don't care for metallic either . I prefer what Liliac does . Not everyone likes everything . Follow what you like and don't troll people that have different likes than you . Grow up or go away , your opinion doesn't matter .
