Tuomas: "Personally I feel that this is probably the best, at least most touching performance by Floor that I've ever heard. She really captures the essence of the song and tells the story as it should be told."
Tuomas say, this is one of the most emotinal vocals Floor ever sings. And he is right. 🤗
In one of Tuomas interviews he said that this was the very first song he wrote for the whole album. It was the starting point of it and I guess therefore also the heart and soul of the whole album. He also said that he never heard Floor sing like this and it was very emotional for him too. There are a lot of hints to everything in this song and video. Go back to the part with Father Pikaia and how he gave way when sapiens came a long. At the moment the word Sapien was sung by Floor the Song changed! Also the pictures have some further meanings sometimes. They put in the dutch book cover of "Het ontstaan der Soorten" which is the "origin of species" book of Charles Darwin ;-) but in dutch because Floor is dutch :-) Also the reference of "spaceship earth" kills me every time because if you think it through we are on a spaceship which happens to have a stable orbit around the sun. And on a spaceship everything is related and depending on each other. Humans are dependent of Nature which consists all the endangered species. Each of them have a part and role on this spaceship and still we are so dumb to treat them like shit and kill their habitats.
Tuomas is a genius.....
Tuomas is on a different level on his own in composing and then comes along Floor the incomparable.
Hi guys, thanks for your reaction. This song has a beatiful melody with Floor, but at the same time, it's like a wake up call. You pointed out the skills of Tuomas writing these lyrics. I have been thinking the same thing actually in every NW song. There is allways a story behind as he has told us. Or like in this song a story with the deeper message and meaning in it. And really to write lyrics like this as being a non-english speaking person, amazing. But obviously, he is a very talented person composing all this music. At this point I take my hat off, it's great to listen to and enjoy of his work with Nightwish. Let's have more music from Nightwish, together is more fun. See you.
This song is a huge message. At the end you realize it's sung by whatever we evolve into in the far far future. That part really grabs me. They asked Tuomas what song he liked best when it comes to Floor's addition to it. He said that in Procession, her voice really moved him. This song may not be one to rock out to. It's all about the message. The blue - throated macaw in this video. Not long ago its cousin the blue or hyacinth macaw (the birds that were the inspiration for animated movie Rio) went extinct. Rhinos nearly extinct. There are only two white rhinos left in the world and both are female. Extinction is part of nature, but not like this. Humans are way too greedy and cause extinction. That's not nature, that's... genocide...
In Human :II: Nature record hearing session for Journalists in Spring 2020
Tuomas told that Nightwish has donated a significant amount of money for the work against climate change
- In practice, our donation is used to buy a forest area that is under threat of felling. Floor has sold his performance clothes and the money is directed to the same destination. Also, each member of the band donates a certain amount into the World Land Trust once a month.
- We cooperate with the World Land Trust.
Fun fact we humans changed the world in 200 years like the World change by herself in 1 Million years ...
NWSU 🤘😎🤘.
Tuomas. How does he do it? Its just called genius!
Both Tuomas and Floor must be visitors from the Gone!
I was at their Toronto concert last night, but I don't recall hearing this song. What a band!
It was never played live
Your flabbergasted reaction pretty much said it all. Harry, PROPS for your comment about Tuomas' poetic ability, not even being a native English speaker. That guy has a far better command of the English language than the vast, vast majority of those for whom it's their first (or only) language! Combined with his compositional skills, it's kind of otherworldly.
I think I've mentioned this before, but he *also* wrote a film: "Imaginaerum", the companion piece to their album. You REALLY should watch that, and maybe even do a reaction to it?!?? If you think you're dumbfounded now, wait until you add THAT into the mix! FYI - the movie (for now) is available in its entirety here on CZcams.
If you watch it, your level of awe at Tuomas will go up an order of magnitude.
often, knowing more than 1 language does make you think differently in the way to use the languages
@@Deilwynna My son (degrees in linquistics) has mentioned just that more than once! It's still amazing to me though - how adept and fluid some people are at their language skills...Tuomas being a prime example.
The complexity of these lyrics is nothing compared to the stunning comprehension of scientific theories and facts in featured in "The Greatest Show on Earth"
Yeah, the thing with languages is very individual, I think...
My sister manages 2 languages, I can manage 8 (5 fluently)
It's about how your brain is built, I think. Some ppl are more gifted with other stuff. Right?
Tuomas is a genius, plus one of Floor's finest vocals....My wife and I will finally get to see Nightwish live this Sunday, in New York, can't wait....
Same, can't wait!
I will be seeing them next week in Chicago, and I cannot wait.
all .... have fun
Have a fantastic time
Denver for me... 🤘
this song is strong....Tuomas is a genious.composer...Floor singing oh my God is sublime ....i love Nightwish ...i love
Great reaction, thanks. Tuomas IS a Genius both as a composer and as a poet…
When I got my Human Nature cd, I popped it in the player and while I was cooking I listened the new songs most of them for the first time. With this song I had to stop what I was doing and I sunk into the lyrics at once and I started crying, very heart breaking cry, I felt the song in my soul. And this song has been one of my favourites from the album. I wish we could turn our procession away from extinction of every forms most beautiful including us humans.
This whole album is just so epic😊very nice reaction guys😘
IMHO, Tuomas is a poet more than a lyricist. Even though English is not his first language, his words can evoke different meaning and imagery for each listener.
This album Human II Nature is so amazing. Every track follows how the Earth and mankind have developed. First track Music tracks development of music. LOL.
Very nice reaction, thank you!
What can i say , Tuomas is a genius!!!🤘🤘
Brilliant comment 🍀🐿🦋🕊🙏🏼...love You Both 💞... Great from a Dutch Nightwish Soldier 🇳🇱🎹💥💜🙋♂️
Life evolves, it lives it's allotted time and goes. Endless forms most beautiful, are ALWAYS evolving to replace others. LIFE it's self goes on.
The entire Scandinavian area is known for some of the most beautiful poetry, hence the ability of the bands from that area to create awesome music.
Tuomas's genius plus Floor's performance = perfection. Chills throughout. Nightwish. We are very lucky to have them in the U.S. for the rest of May on the North America portion of their 2022 world tour. FYI, here's their amazing world tour setlist:
* Opening drum solo from Music
1. Noise
2. Planet Hell
3. Tribal
4. Elan
5. Storytime
6. She is My Sin
7. Harvest
8. 7 Days to the Wolves
9. Dark Chest of Wonders
10. I Want My Tears Back
11. Ever Dream
12. Nemo
13. How's the Heart (acoustic)
14. Shoemaker
15. Last Ride of the Day
16. Ghost Love Score
17. The Greatest Show on Earth
Nightwish Army, let's make sure they sell out every show.
NIghtwish are the greatest band founded over a period of some 40 years, IMHO, and I consider Human Nature the best of their many great albums. Thank you for doing this!
This is procession. And perfection.
Just some things that might not be obvious:
- "We were there - and we'll remember mankind": Nice echo from the singers of the gone to the "We were here" from TGSOE. The entire song is an epilogue to TGSOE to me.
- "A cradle earth, horizons unseen": He's using that line twice in the song. And not by accident. To me, this means that the singers of the gone face extinction themselves. They are at the end of pi = at the end of time. In a big crunch kind of way maybe.
- "words and melodies with a touch of coloring": The video is black-and-white. The endagered species are the only thing in colour. In a Shakespeare kind of way, Tuomas gives us the key for how to read his lines.
The whole song reminds me of Ayreon's "Final experiment". A wise species from the future tries to save the world by putting enlightening messages into our souls by music. Tuomas is our Ayreon.
When I first listened to this song, I didn't get it at all. Then, I read the lyrics - and it broke my heart.
We can learn a lot from Nighwish. If we just try to get into Tuomas' head, we can see what he is thinking about, what his character and personality are like, and that is where he cares about the world, humanity and everything created on this heavenly earth. I have learned a lot and I am learning from Nightwish to be a better person, to value those true values and to always give a hand of salvation to those who are less than ourselves, not a hand that will let them fall into the abyss. It is simply our mission on this earth to fight for a better tomorrow for all of us.
I think that Tuomas does not want to show us what a genius he is, but that he wants to show us the values that every man needs to recognize in himself in order to be a better man.
This is so true. ❤
🇬🇧 Norfolk strapped in and ready to go
Some great videos from this album
Yeah, my favourite track on the album! Now I'll listen... :)
Thuomas and Floor are nearly the only humans on earth that can make my heart melt.
Thank you for such a honest reaction 🤘♥️
Just one word: Tuomas
He is such a genius poet
Hi Harry and Sharlene! Wonderful reaction! I felt the same way at the concert last night. Simply magical!
This Album was written in part to utilize Floor's vocals. Most everything you've heard Floor sing was written for Tarja or Annette.
Tuomas is called for a reason the Metal Mozart. And you just experienced one of this reasons. Well done reaction.
Love it. This album is amazing all the way through. The lyrics are awesome and deep once you understand it all. With the way of the world now it’s ashamed people do some bad things still. Have you heard Floors solo song out yet? It’s awesome
You need to react to the Endlessness lyric video. From the same album and the lyrics are just so deep and inspiring. Marko is singing the lead, the last song that he did as a member of Nightwish. Seeing them live in Boston Saturday! On a different note Floor was promoting her single Fire on a Dutch radio show and the host asked her to sing the phonebook, as so many us have jokingly said she could. Being the cool person she is she agreed and totally killed it . czcams.com/video/CLUr1DLwEQg/video.html
What is the name of the album?
@@fantasyfan8308 Human][Nature. Released in 2020.
@@rnowak85 thanks for the answer.
Thank you so much for another brilliant reaction guys. Oh yes what a start to the album Human II Nature. This is a stunning,. thought provoking album. Tuomas is indeed a genius, the band is on fire and Floor's vocals.... just unbelievable. I thought Floor had already hit the heights of excellence.
Like your closing message always guys. Peace and love from. Alan..Liverpool UK 👍✌️🤘☮️
Its my Favorit nightwish Song by far! !!!!!!! 😊😢😢😢
Great reaction, i loved it. Thanks 😊 🇫🇮
Glad you enjoyed it
For me this is the best Nightwish song to date.
React to more from this album, it's amazing.
Just saw them in Helsinki about 2 weeks ago. They were fantastic.
My top 1 song on the album... it's the best interpretation of universe timeline in few minutes. So much meaning behind those lyrics...
btw, based on facts 99.9 percent of all species that have ever lived on this planet... already extinct
Have you seen the musical 2nd side to the Human nature album the fan made video got the thumbs up from Nightwish and the visuals with the musics amazing and makes you feel lucky to live on such a planet and why we need to protect it.
You are so lovely couple! always nice to watch your reacts!greets from Finland!!
Thank you so much!!
Fantastic reaction Songs and Thongs! Get blown away yet again and listen to "Endlessness" (official lyric video) from this same album Human :II: Nature. For me personally it is the most important Nightwish song ever because listening to it made me accept my own mortality. Marco sang this song on the album and now that he is not in the band anymore they will never perform it live. Btw, I saw Nightwish in Tampere two weeks ago. Pure magic! 💫
Welcome to Human:||:Nature... Prepare your jaw to drop... My favorites are Pan, Tribal, Endlessness, Noise and Shoemaker. Moenie te lank wag nie, outjies!
Best wishes from Namibia
¸I cry every time to this song.
Along came acorn means just that. Acorn as in Tammenterho in Finnish. So it is Oak's seed
Harry: meaning of ahorn, the acorn symbolizes growth, perseverance or stability. All the wonder in a mighty oak grows from a single acorn. When you want to remind your loved one of their amazing and endless potential, get them an acorn.
I am pretty sure you will love Ad Astra, from the same album!
This song makes the onion ninja's turn up everytime I watch this video.
Makes you very small
This song is a beautiful party pooper ☺️🎶
Don't feel lonely. I'm the same way.
A work of pure genius 🤘
Great reaction! Those endangered species are the tip of an iceberg - there are over 8,000 listed as endangered, with an estimated 150+ going extinct every day. So I recommend Last Ride of the Day (live at Masters of Rock) with subtitles turned on, because it's a banger of a tune but also has some very profound lyrics that I missed for ages until I saw them written down!
Thanks
far and away Nightwish's deepest and best album. A mesmerizing masterpiece if you actually listen to it front to back.
As always, I enjoyed your reactions.
Try Tribal ( virtual concert ) .😇😇😇
or the lyric one.
refreshing hear sometimes different music than love or relationship or that kinda mass topic music. tuomas really thinking about nature very much. thanx to very good reaction and have wonderful weekend.
'people are not good for this world' well said. We really need to get our shit together(Climate denial, dumping s#it into the sea, habitat f#ckation, african hunting parties, etc...........) or we will be an up and coming footnote on the greatest show on earth.
From this same album, you need to check the song "Endlessness" (the official lyric video)!
You are going to love it!
Goosebumps throughout the entire track, just phenomenal! Its almost the greatest show on earth 2 - The concised version ❤🔥🤘
Who writes this Lyrics?: Tuomas' Holopainen!
I've forgotten now whether you guys have done any others from this album. If not, you might enjoy checking out the first track, titled "Music." It is somewhat along the same lines as this one, but it treats the concept of music as if it were a conscious entity in and of itself, laying throughout all time waiting patiently for the dawn of mankind to be its lover. It is a widely overlooked and under-appreciated track. In my opinion it is the singularly most beautiful song on this album. Give the lyric video a try (there are no live perfs of it, and you would miss the beauty and awe of the story without the video anyway).
As much fun as songs like Romanticide are, the songs of Human ll Nature are incredible. Any time I listen to the album, I get lost in it.
Hope y'all are doing ok. I like night wish
Son rockeros y rockeras que son leyendas y también historia del mundo rockero..
the album: Human Nature has a larger context than one song does narrate. Its still nightwish, with a modern touch. if you like to explore more, try pan and tribal
My Brain hurts when I listen/read songs like this one or greatest show on Earth. :)
you talked all thru the song and are then speechless after it ends.
Please .... Nightwish - Ad Astra 💪🏻🖤🤘🏼go go
You should do all the lyric videos from that album...and start in order with Music
Lyrics are important, too - don't ignore them as you did with Bloodywood ^_-
When iy got heavier, it is on the word Sapien, makes Tuomas a bigger genius
This was the first compossed song after "The Greatest Show On Earth".
❤
React to all songs of Human Nature album. It is fking amazing album!
Yup we should never have appeared on this planet. We are the worst thing to happen to earth. 😞
Hardly, i'd say the 5 mass extinction events the earth has had were considerably worse. Humans are a mere blip on the radar of the history of earth so far, not that that is an excuse to not be responsible though.😉
At least for all living things on it :(
@@Hexley_Vexley I wasn’t referring to celestial bodies impacting the planet. I’m of course referring to living creatures on it.
Well the Amino Acids essential for life arrived here from the many meteorites that Earth got in the way of - so we are an unintended consequence. But we *are* responsible in part for how fast Earth is changing. We've sabotaged ourselves and the rest of life on this little rock.
@@Mind-your-own-beeswax Actually only one was caused by an asteroid, the last one (maybe 2, they are not sure). But I get your point, I think as an animal species ourselves we have done the most amount of damage in the shortest amount of time by far.
look at "ad astra" from the album
Coldplay - The Hardest Part (Official Video)
A little advice: You don´t have to use mouse to pause video, because it brings up the overlay. Instead there are these shortcuts:
letter J means 10 seconds backward
K means pause
L means 10 seconds forward
left arrow is 5 seconds backward
right arrow is 5 seconds forward.
Oh awesome, thanks for this info 😁
Tuomas Holopainen is the next generation Shakespeare.
This song I was kind of meh about ... and then I sat down with the lyrics and now I nearly sob every time I listen to it lol.
Try Tribal, Hows The Heart, Shoemaker & Noise, from the same release : Human//Nature, official Lyric video, no "official" Live yet
4.19 "it's a whole timeframe thing..." er..yeah it's a procession.
You should react to the whole newest album in order - really great.
The whole second part of the newest album is an instrumental masterpiece.
There is a fan video that has all pieces together with the most beautiful graphics (Tuomas approved)
It will blow your mind too.
😊🇫🇮❤️🎶🎹🎸🥁✨🤘
Sometimes i have the feeling Tuomas is the reincarnation of Mozart and Shakespear in one person
Absolutley right
And then there are people that don't like this album. I feel that they are just not paying attention.
🤘🇫🇮👍
When you consider that the entire band is at least bi-lingual (Floor, however, speaks no less than 5 languages - Dutch, Swedish, English, some Finnish and now German), it makes those of us here in the US who only speak one language (and most of us not very well at that) seem a bunch of idiots.
You forgot she also sings in Spanish, Italian and Latin 🥰
@@124Spider5 I didn't forget. She sings in those languages but doesn't speak them. Big difference.
Have problem With this band, but i like the reaktion. I hope for Orbit culture in the future.. thx
👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟😍😍
"We wrote this in a tongue you would understand"... Harry, I think Tuomas was reading your mind... LOL Maybe a bit prophetic as well. To bad it's based in paganism.
wisdom like maybe this isn't the right or correct way to treat this animal or this kind of being lifeform
Unrelated to the video, sharlene, you remind me of jorja fox from the original CSI cast, just physically, idk why. Anyway, I should throw some requests at you guys some time.
Nightwish will never play this live. It is done for charitable reasons to support The World Land Trust. The song is about the development of life on earth.
If you read the lyrics you will find that this song is coming from a very unique perspective. Not first person or third person, but from a universal Watcher perspective outside of humanity.
We are, singers of the gone
We remember, as along came life
We are, we were, and will not be
We remember, as along came acorn
We will remember all the suffering
We wrote this in a tongue you will understand
Words and melodies with a touch of coloring
We were there and will remember mankind
Our kin
Aeons ago
A very good observation.
The birth of life on the planet, the progression of the species. Only a small amount of human beings are trying to save them, they are gone because of our overreach. Tuomas of course wrote this. Guess you haven’t done Greatest Show on Earth. All in alignment.
We actually did Greatest Show on Earth. You can check out the reaction on our channel 😃
@@SongsandThongs , I will, thanks.
Finns are on average pretty good English speakers, strange regarding our languages' mutually incompatible phoneme formation and utterly incompatible sentence structure. Tuomas is a poet in two languages, for which I doff my hat and bow my head. To me the song Procession is about the future time, when they are like the Australopithecus Afarensis was to us. It gives hope for the humankind to survive the Anthropocene die-off and and flourish perhaps elsewhere, perhaps here.
The song may even have a touch of the deep time (10 to a power of so many years that the age of the Earth may be just an eyeblink), and the future generations having progenitors of us, right now.
