    Many trainers usually avoid PNF stretches because of the dangers, but this tutorial is fantastic and shows how to do them properly. Good work!

    I typically go with both legs being extended as well. I think the version she demonstrated could be useful for someone who is extremely tight and there are concerns with their lower back

    (opinion)I think that the methods used with the PNF system are more effective than AIS. Ultimately, I frequently find myself using a mix of static, PNF, AIS, and other dynamic stretching depending on the situation

    Actually most good trainers advocate PNF, because it's the best way to lengthen the muscle. She does a great job here, but one major flaw is the bent other leg. That breaks the pelvis' tilt and doesn't create the "stretch" as intended. It's best to keep it flat on the ground and work the other leg, even if it's much tighter.

    When I read the book on pnf stretching by Dr. Voss & I forget the other person. They took the body part through a full ROM. They also relaxed the leg saying it helped elongate the muscle. Why do you do it this way?

      +Shiv Soni Contract relax is a type of stretching that the Institute endorses which falls under the banner of PNF stretching. You can check out further examples in this video :) czcams.com/video/PhfbsLEPus0/video.html

      +Urshia Noor if you skip to around 0:24 seconds in this video you can see exactly how to use PNF on tight hamstrings :)

    • @FitnessEduAuonGooglePlus
      @FitnessEduAuonGooglePlus  Před 8 lety

      Hi +Urshia Noor, if you have weak hip extensors PNF stretching will not help to strengthen them as it is a technique that helps with tight muscles :)
