Howdy folks, I hope you enjoyed this review - I sure did have fun with this one. Very easy to prepare - and the food was of excellent quality. My apologies to all the Czech folks for my blunder in calling Czech Republic "Czechoslovakia" - silly me, that name changed 23 years ago! Oh how we all learn something new every day - at least I hope we all can. Thank you all so much for watching and for the amazing support over what is nearing the first year anniversary of the channel. I started this channel November 27th last year, and it sure has grown to something much larger than I could have dreamed. I love that every other pack of coffee is the best, smoothest coffee Steve has ever had in a ration.

Soak the turkey jerky in some hot water and it should soften up a lot.
The glucose tablets probably aren't precisely candy, but instead are a quick shot of pure glucose in case your blood sugar is crashing after strong exertion. Glucose tablets are a commonly-carried emergency item for diabetics, so if their blood sugar craters they can raise it quickly.
They actually glucose drinks that will boost your sugar in a more healthy way...i keep those around...
They are a massive instant sugar hit

The Czechs are awesome. I spent a month attached to a Czech infantry unit and I will never forget it! When we went to the field they brought their cooks with them... hard training but the food made it much easier.

I loved this one and im so happy you liked it, lol. I wasnt expecting czech MRE, thanks! I dont mind the "blunder" at all, most czechs and slovaks actually still feel connected, almost like one nation, like brothers. I guess politics cant erase hundreds and hundreds years of mutual history and friendship. I recommend visiting both countries, they are both stunningly beautiful. Cheers from Czech Republic!
EDIT: on that "grape sugar" tablets - it is nearly pure glucose (monosacharide). no grape flavour, its called grape, because one of sources it was extracted from were grapes (today it is mostly synthetic). so not really a candy, it is a "quick energy" tablet.
No one feel connected with SVK. We hate them, they hate us...thats reality...and yes I have slovakian friends but they are different country like Germany or Poland. No connection at all.

Fun fact. Hroznový cukr actually means glukose, because in Czech you can say ethier glukose or "grape sugar". This two words have the same meaning. So this candy is made for quick resource of energy.

Hey Steve! Love your videos. I've been going to garage sales for several years and never find any MRE's. I look for them all the time. I remember my first MRE when I went hunting with my old man and was surprised at how dang good they tasted. There certainly is something about the unique flavors of MREs that you can't get anywhere else. Thanks for sharing

Just to clarify, the "grape-flavoured candies" aren't actually grape flavoured, we just call glucose "grape sugar" as it was(maybe still is? idk) most commonly derived from grapes

Hroznový cukr, is not grape flavoured candy but grape flavoured glokose tablet. It is used as quick sugar intake since it is absorbed quickly via tongue. So basically it is for hipoglycemic states or after running to get quick boost.

Pre-bedtime is not the best time to be watching these, all I wanna do is eat. Man I want to taste all of these different rations. I'd chop up half of that turkey jerky and mix it into the meat, like bacon bits, and cook it up mmmm.
