    I was 17 when this came out. It is difficult to explain, but the world changed. This was released just after his death, so there was also this idea going around that Tupac faked his death. Listen to the album, then read The Prince by Makaveli, that book is about deceiving your enemy. We had no social media so we only went on what people were talking about through word of mouth. I was ready to ride for Tupac AKA Makaveli the Don. This album to me makes him the GOAT. Me Against the World is perfection, but The 7 Day Theory is prophecy. And yes, I still remember every single word and song verbatim, ain't nobody allowed to miss a word!

      @flaquis2729 yeah that's the sample and yes, it was Teddy Riley that asked to use it, but there was even another version of Toss It Up where they straight up used the no diggity instrumental for a Dre disstrack, Blackstreet issued a label with a cease and desist for that version so they made the updated version we hear in the album, Toss It Up

      ​@@pwtv339his first two albums were more black power , for the culture / revolutionary type of content ...he was just coming out but really didn't catch on musically until he switched up a bit and did me against the world. But prior to that he did the movie juice and that's how his name really got out there. The conscious rapping he did early on wasn't catching the attention of most people so he got more gangsta but still had quality messages

    This album was Done in 3 days but he decided to add more songs so he finished in 7 days & (fun facts ) 2pac wanted to make this a mixtape and give it away for free to say thank you to the fans, and many people was begging him not too , so he would have been one of the first people to make a mixtape

    Nas had a issue with jay z because dude was messing with his baby mama and bragging about it on his songs so someone brought it to nas attention that jay was dissing him , then nas came back with a diss nothing big but then jay z came out with " the takeover" and nas responded with " ether"

That isn't paying homage anymore, its an inability to be original as a writer. A ton of rappers are inspired by older artists but they at least find interesting ways to incorporate it into their music, and it doesn’t involve reciting entire verses/hooks.

      Hail Mary, To Live and die in LA and Toss it up, the album shows some of his best lyricism overall and better disses than hit em up with Against All Odds and Bomb First
