Sound wise ? Probably. But the best season is undeniably 2012, during the V8 era. 7 champions in one grid, 7 winners in the first 7 races. It was an incredible season.

Imagine comparing a 1990 F1 to a 1970 F1- this is the same timegap here, only this time we barely got any faster, only heavier and bigger, fatter...

But the fact they got bigger and heavier but just as quick is something you have to give to all engineers
They're much fatter and heavier for the multitude of safety features it has now, while also having to hold an entire race's worth of fuel, and have to be driven without any aids like TCS and ABS. And they're still faster. Cope

The gearbox on this F2004 is a bit too short for Spa; could use a click taller 5th, 6th and 7th gear or much easier - a click taller final drive. It should be about 330-335 at the end of the straights with the right setup. With a good setup it's a piece of cake picking up the entire 2021 field. in just 3-4 laps.

I like how you change the mic quality based on the POV, from either the commentator's perspective or the driver's perspective throughout the lap. A good little bit of ear candy :)

Yeah it's a bit dumb from him to think that the f2004 was as quick as modern f1 cars around this circuit. Assetto Corsa AI is not the quickest
@@utkarshchaurasia2233 Not exactly. They were about 1 second quicker around the track, however the track has changed since. It’s kind of a close call.
iirc the F2004 still holds lap record on some tracks, or it was another car from that era

Loving these videos lately, and the LMP video too. Have you taken a look at some VRC formula cars? Those are also an absolute blast to drive.
For me the late 90s, early 00's were the pinnacle of F1 sound and aesthetics.
You can go with lower downforce and gear ratios in F2004 to max out at 330kph @ Kemmel straight, great video regardless! Gonna fire up a server to race F2004 vs 2021 Hybrid with my friends tonight :D (to allow racing Ferrari F1 vs other cars you gotta manually edit entry list and config cfgs in server manager for anyone wondering how to avoid that error ;))
The 2021 can do 340 with ers though..

This is some of the most entertaining F1 racing I've ever seen
With slicks, I think the F2004 can hang with the modern cars pretty good. Even on straights, when the battery on modern cars runs out its on for the F2004, also the performance is constant throughout the whole race, no need to worry about saving battery power.
With only 1 small addition of adding DRS to the F2004, now that I think about it, the car can probably even compete for podiums.
2004 has to take pitstops for refuel hence take long time in full long race morden cars will win of morden cars have v10 then they win easily.

If this was a 50 lap race we all know who would have won by far
But the F2004 would have needed to take pitstops to refuel and the modern Formula 1 not, because it would be possible to run the entire race distance with the full tank and C1 tyre from the start.
Verstappen in the RedBull obviously, seems like he could even win on foot :D

Interesting comparison and a well executed video. The cars look great! The track is a bit bright in my opinion. Also if you don't need changing weather conditions the 2d cloud rendering looks better than 3d clouds in SOL.

I think the huge cars they drive now limit a lot of overtaking and wheel to wheel racing possibilities.

Yep the 2004 cars did 350kph down the straight compared to to 320 today. Today’s cars are way faster in the corners.

If you're gonna put modern slicks on the older v10s, it's only fair to add TCS & ABS on the new cars.
The F2004 didn't have ABS
@@benchaggaresmusic fair enough, abs was banned in '94, however, it still had traction control. Then again, how much would the modern counterpart benefit from having it? Probably a bit, but the modern cars are so heavy because of safety regs.
Maybe due to editing, the DRS actually is activated after 2 laps. Anyway, great simulation. This Belgian GP way, way better than the farce we saw in 2021.

Yeah but people were dying and crashing in those conditions as well. IMO they should've cancel it completely rather than this 2 lap farce but I'm glad that Russel got his podium at least.
@@filipruml It is pretty simple to decide what to do under these circumstances... it's just a matter of "full wet tires" cope or do not cope with the amount of water on the track. They should have canceled the race only based on that criteria and nothing else...

The audio change from in and outside of the car is kinda annoying since it makes you harder to understand since the v10 is louder than your voice.

The 2004 is indisputably the fastest F1 in history, if you could put the same tires (softs) on that car, it would beat anything, in fact the tires made for that particular car were made with grooves to SLOW THEM DOWN

I loved the sound of V10 but I always fell asleep listening to the music they made back in the day. Especially when Jos "The Boss" Verstappen had retired again and I would not know who to root for with all the legends of great names on the grid. 😅
