Phil got popular because he was a hater, and now that he’s unpopular, he thinks hating on everything will make it happen again. Except, people don’t actually like haters, unless they’re funny and Phil is the complete opposite of funny. Oh where to begin. Steve of the Dead had a great point where Phil just has no insight into anything he does. He cannot fathom speculation on tings or analyzing anything, he literally just consumes what's in front of him at face value and nothing else. Even him trying to guess the game being shown came off more as a kid trying to get it right and have his friends praise him for how "smart" he was guessing it.
His hatred of Doom is clear example of this as all he sees is medieval setting and Doom, no brain for seeing the types of environments and set pieces and enemy types and weapons that opens things up to. So he'd rather have another space based power armor shooter on Mars? K
It was so cringe with him saying "Notice a pattern?" over and over with that smug laugh he does. He honestly thinks he just winds people up for some insane punchline. Like we get is DSP, you hate women, you only married one to feel like you have some semblance of being an adult.
He really has it in his gin soaked brain that people who get excited for trailers and react accordingly and have insight into what they are watching are fake and just butt kissing but only the real fans criticize it, so he just overcompensates by being so toxic and negative towards it. Like I truly do not understand the mental gymnastics he must go through daily to convince himself he enjoys games and what he does because none of this spoke of someone who remotely enjoys games at all.
Do anyone else think these games look *too* good (graphics-wise, of course). It just seems like a little overkill at this point, but maybe that’s just me. If it was easy to make games look this good I wouldn’t care, but they’re spending years and millions to polish these graphics and I’m just wondering who cares
