Gears trailer made me so emotional man, the original trilogy had such an impact on my childhood and means so much to me
ikr - original GoW was my first Xbox 360 online multiplayer experience and boy it was so good back then! Hours and hours of just blasting people off, sneaking and shooting - damn, I played it so many times, but only finished campaign in like 2020 when I got Xbox Series S, and had a chance to replay the series again. Still it's very good and really fun to play even years later.
I hope E-day will be at least on same level of good.

You NEED to play at least Gears 1-3 to understand the significance of this trailer. Those games defined an entire generation of not only FPS games but also the people who played them.
Gears really rocked the scene with how somber and brutal it was and the trailers they released rank among the all-time greats.
I HIGHLY recommend a playthrough and I would watch every single episode.

I've never played Gears of War either. When it came out it looked really clunky (to me), especially the cover system.

I honestly hope Cohh goes back and tries the updated State of Decay 2 game. The developers spent a ton of time working on it and making it better. It is NOT the same game he played at launch.

@@spadez011 A lot. Like from weapons, to characters too missions and zombies and animations. Just got refined in a good way and good stuff added.

@@SlCKNESS_ It was happening gradually. I also haven't played at launch. But it got better by each update. I think just last year there was a big one. Which added new events and modifications both for zombies and people. Like people sometimes had different"moods" that changed morale, stamina and more.

wym South At Midnight "why would they do that?" in regards to the low character fps? 😂 spider-verse movies used it to great acclaim and we've rarely seen it in games. Super cool art choice.
I was overall very happy with the reveal. Dragon Age has me very worried. But wow, I thought even the CoD campaign looked like it might potentially not suck this time.
The highlights for me are Perfect Dark and Fable. I'd be a newcomer to Perfect Dark but I LOVED the original Fable. This showcase got me excited for both of those
In the first Fable game you were locked in as a male character, most you could do is maybe eventually change like your hairstyle. Fable 2 added the ability to play as either a male or female Hero and expanded the options for hairstyle, facial hair, clothing, all of which can be done whenever after you've gotten past the intro of the game. Your sex is all you chose at the start. Fable 3 was largely the same way except now they let you pick a starting outfit. This new Fable they haven't really commented on any of that despite a lot of fans across CZcams and Twitter begging them to clarify the situation, whether this is going to be like a gender swapped Fable 1 or if they're following after Fable 2 & 3 and they just haven't gotten around to showing the male option yet.
I mean I think you'd be able to get the answer if you were to look through the Fable timeline I'm not saying I have the answer but does the hero who was talking in the trailer show up in the first game because if so then they have to be remaking the first Fable but if he doesn't then they could continue to follow given that Fable 1 in Fable III are if I recall correctly couple hundred years between them
@@mixedbaggamer My understanding is that this is a total reboot in a different timeline from the Lionhead games. So far they haven't shown any characters that appeared in the original games and there haven't been any references to any events that occurred in the previous games. Given the medieval setting, or at least what I assume to be medieval, it would have to be either before or after Fable: The Lost Chapters if it were part of the same timeline, but that wouldn't justify having a predetermined protagonist.

do grown people really not know what stop motion is? it has nothing to do with the frames the frames will be 4K 60 buttery smooth CZcams makes it look like trash... cutscenes are done with stop motion... but stop motion is amazing haven't you ever seen Spider-Man or Adult Swim or claymation... it's all stop motion and you have to be highly talented of a developer to pull it off... South of midnight is going to be amazing... compulsion started out as a small Indie studio and Microsoft really staffed them up and turn them into AAA, same thing they did with Undead labs

But I'm not touching that pile of garbage with a 10-foot pole. Just because something's popular and you also happen to like it doesn't mean it's as great as you think it is.

I'm with Cohh on the DA4 trailer, it was very much not Dragon Age to me. Very disappointing after a decade long wait. Maybe just the trailer sucked and the gameplay reveal will be better, but I ain't holding my breath.
It really didn’t have a good musical choice. I think that was a big factor in making the vibes feel off.
All bioware devs are from EA or just some new guys so I don't know what people were expecting, especially after Andromeda. Same thing like being excited about Elder Scrolls 6.

Of these I'm most excited for Avowed. Even with the old trailer i still thought it looked interesting and this one was even better. It will be the true test to see if microsoft has affected Obsidian's quality in writing. One thing you can count on with Obsidian is interesting story and world building. Dragon Age, I'm extremely skeptical about, and why is Varric so different TT. Fable seemed intriguing to me. I've never played any of the fable games, but always wanted to.
not sure why MS would have any affect, no one is telling them what they can or cannot do, not really.
My only concern is I want to get immersed for a long time in these types of games and Obsidian doesn't have the budget (or studio size) to make a game that big, so I'm not sure how much I'm gonna end up liking it.

24:05 For someone who grew up with playing games on C64 and Amiga 500, I... have to agree with Cohh. The game looks AWESOME visually, but if they made a decision to make the movements almost "claymation/ stop-motion", they've definitely missed the reason why some "claymation/ stop-motion"-movies and games work. It's because the characters and the worlds LOOK like they belong there. When the game looks as good as this does, but the characters seems to belong in another universe, the effect is just jarring.
The gameplay and grapichs looks AAA though, so definitely I hope that this preview was just badly made regarding animations 😇

Hate people in other comment sections defending this crap, true fans of the franchise are livid with this. DA:O is my favourite game of all time. Ive put in countless playthroughs throughout all the games on multiple systems. Dont tell me how I should feel about a game reveal trailer, serious disappointing from BioWare. But I suppose they died a long time ago.

46:15 - The first Fable is the only good Fable and so you played with a ready-made character, a boy. Depending on the class you chose it changed your appearance. As a warrior you start to look like Arnold, when you choose the way of the mage then you start to look like Gandalf, etc.

Very much the same Cohh, South of Midnight looks like a headache machine. Spiderverse worked because the entire movie wasn't like that. Spiderverse animated the older Peter Parker in lower fps than Miles Moralis to pay homage to the times those characters were originally animated. So you weren't watching 12 fps the entire time.
Having the animations on the 2s during combat and exploration is an interesting decision. Like cohh said, hopefully there's an option to change that or it comes with a family size bottle of Tylenol

@@xBINARYGODx the character model runs on the 2s (spiderverse style) during combat and exploration, it's hard to watch especially for an extended period of time. kinda like the spider-verse suit in Miles Morales, it was neat but after about 10 minutes i had to turn the alternate animation off because it was giving me a headache having a 12 frame character in a 60 frame background is jarring

I feel like I'm in the minority, because I think that the Dragon Age: Veilguard trailer isn't as bad as people make it out to be. If they just changed the song and had it be something more appropriate to the setting, I feel like it wouldn't have received as big of a backlash as it's currently getting
I don't know, man, the writing, the color pallette, the lighting, the overall tone just wasn't Dragon Age. The art style isn't great either, but I could easily look past that if any of the rest of it felt like DA, but it felt more like MCU than DA:O. Maybe there's a chance it's just a terrible trailer that's not indicative of the final product but I'm not holding my breath
@@umphreak9999 I mean, people had a similar reaction to Dragon Age: Inquisition; I've seen people claim if we pretended that Dragon Age: Origins and 2 were the first two seasons of a dark fantasy TV show produced by HBO, then Inquisition is when the third season was produced by Disney instead.
They're releasing 15 minutes of gameplay footage this Tuesday, so we'll find out soon enough whether they actually have MCU-ified Dragon Age
I feel like people hear Dragon Age and their mind immediately thinks of the 1st game. It's gotten less and less grim dark with every entry.

@@iammidus2012I don't disagree but there's a very good reason for that, Origins was far and away the best of the trilogy and the hope was that after Andromeda and Anthem they would've learned a lesson and gone back to their roots.

@@SlCKNESS_ I'm fairly sure Fable 2 and 3 had progressed to custom characters.
@@Darkfiretiger You could just pick the gender and the basic clothes. I wouldn't really call that customization, but in any case what they've shown so far doesn't exclude we get the same basic options.
@@SlCKNESS_ Really? I was sure there was lots of customization, it's been years since I played though maybe that was all post character creation.
