I just bought this exact stand for my apartment and had the issue of the frame being fairly wobbly. I'm glad I watched this video, because that curtain rod idea is brilliant! Will definitely be stopping by Bunnings after work to sort that!
Not sure why it took me so long to find your channel but this is by far my favorite channel. Recently picked up a Trek Domane SL5 and I'm looking to learn how to clean and maintain it on my own since bike shops are so busy. Thank you for your simple yet clear videos!
Mate you're looking even younger now than when I first started seeing your videos!!!!! You can tell riding has totally treated you in the most positive way, looking super healthy!!! Now, about those bike stands, yeah they look great, easy, and very practical. Riding bikes is just a phenomenal way to stay in shape. It's a treat to be able to ride! Lately, things have been super strange to say the least, with this crazy virus!!! We FINALLY are allowed to ride within an area, but at least I can still do plenty of loops to get my kilometers in :-) Boy this lockdown takes a toll on our "staying in shape" uffffff!! Stay safe!!!
I watch your vlogs for about 2,5 years now. Always good ideas for people who like to make tools etc thereself. Always very clearly explaination so very entertaining to.
Best stand! It is $100 USD in USA though... on amazon.... Under the name - "Racor - PLB-2R, Bike Rack, Garage Wall Stand". PS. SINCE YOU LIKE TO RECYCLE HOME REPAIR AND OTHER MATERIALS. CUT AND PUT A MOUNTAIN BIKE SECTION OF TIRE TUBE ON THE HOOKS TO NOT SCRATCH THE BIKE!! THANK YOU FOR THIS. I LOVE THIS RACK
I like your curtain-rod hack and, hmm, that storage stand could double as a sort of maintenance stand in an apartment, too. And I like your shed, too--it has everything and even the kitchen sink.
Great idea using the padding, I always struggled with the overlap hanging two road bikes with my tall saddle height. Look forward to your vids for that touch of home. Cheers Steven.
Finally picked up a roadie about a month a go, took a while to find something in my size and budget. It also had to be something that I could sell easily at the end of the year. Lost a lot of fitness sitting on my arse waiting 3 months for the temperatures to get into the positive. Ridden about 600 ks in the last month and starting to get the right feelings back in the legs. Looks like you blokes will be able to start the group rides again shortly, we are a while off doing that in Ontario. Say g’day to the boys for me. Cheers
Anyone here have experience with the floor-to-ceiling type stands? I don’t think they need to be screwed into the wall as they use tension to stay upright.
Can I wax my seat post with your method. My chains and drivetrain loved your process of waxing. I bought a rack still hasn’t open it hummm. This one looks very good.
Hi Steve. How do you treat bearings of headset, crankset and wheels? Do you just use an NLGI 2 lithuim grease complex on the outside? I tried lithium and bentone and both "leak" on the outside and attract lots of dirt. Do you need to use silicone or something else there? I am not talking inside industrial bearings, there you pretty much have to use lithium NLGI 2.
@@stevenleffanue Medium NLGI 2? Thicker NLGI 3? Lithium complex? When I say that it is coming out I mean that film that a grease usually spreads around on surfaces. I thought it is in the nature of a grease.
@@stevenleffanue Do you use different types of grease for inside of the bearings (to lubricate the bearings) and on the outside of the cartridge bearings (to protect them from water ingress) or do you put the same grease on insde and outside?
Hi any update on the Tuff Carbon wheels that you reviewed 2 years ago now, wondered how they faired long term. I have just bought a set with 45mm disc rims ready to go on the bike now. cheers
@@stevenleffanue Thank you.. I am only 60 kgs and have gone for 45mm rims with Pillar spokes so should be ok. They do state for riders up to 120kg's!!!
Hi I have a question about the strength of a Bottom Bracket. I bought this mid drive motor for my carbon fibre MTB frame to turn it into an E-Bike & I can't fit the motor through & around the Bottom Bracket because it's made of 10mm thick wall of aircraft aluminium instead of say a typical 3 - 5mm thick wall of a cro-moly Bottom Bracket. I can shave off a 3 - 5mm deep curved C slot into the 10mm thick Bottom Bracket but would a 5mm thick wall be strong enough? Basically the curved area of the motor would be sandwiched with thin rubber tubing against the frame so there is no vibrations plus it would create strength in the area it was shaved off I think, I just wanted your opinion or someone else who may have done similar.
@@stevenleffanue Yeah would love to hear about the ride feel. I want to upgrade to a more racy frame (and to disc and deep wheels) from the comfy endurance that I ride now with -17 slammed stem. Racy but not too stiff because I live and ride in flanders and some coubles/bad roads are not to be avoided. Yoeleo looks nice but not sure to go for the R12 or R9. Leo says it is nice and stiff and comfortable, but every brand says that about every frame, so yeah.
i dunno, the bike at the bottom could just as easily be rested against the wall, no benefit to having the stand... and for the top bike, just screw a mount into the wall since you have to do it anyways... you could prob even use 3M tape that hold 20+ lbs for lighter weight bikes
Don’t forget to thoroughly clean your stands before coating in wax.

$100? I think I bought mine in target for $40
Keep up the good work Oz, greetings from Macedonia!!
Another great vid Steve👍
My Aldi work stand has been fantastic after ~5 years use

Nice. Any local bunches over there? We are allowed to ride max 10 in bunch. Will say Hi to all for you. 🚲
You have a nice collection of bikes.
I bought my two from Cheap As Chips for $25 and $30 each, but added a pole to back of them to convert to free standing.
Good review my friend, need a dropper post on your MTB problem solved 🚴♂️🙃😂
Nice. Good morning.
If one doesn't have a wall to lean against I've placed 2 completed stands back to back and bolted together with a M8 thread at the top
Total shed envy!
hiya please can you tell me the name of the tyres you use ,,the red ones deffo I will invest in a set .thanks a mil
I'm interested in the work stand OZ had at the start of the video, that had plenty of travel and I'd like to get one myself
Its an Aldi stand
Hi, what diameter are those 1580mm long curtain rods? Thanks!
Thanks for the video
first ! :D Love your vids....
I see you have another Yeoleo to build up, what model is that one? Great video.
R12. Yes will do a vid on it and build up
put the MTB in the upper position and the road bike at the bottom

This wax isnt a grease. Best to use greases and oils if unsure.
@oz cycle do you remember what diameter tubing you used?
For the inserts?

Medium grade grease for hubs and pedals. Thicker grease for BB and headset. If its coming out your prolly using too much.

Right. Yeh,just wipe off excess.

Depends on conditions. I often put sealed bearings in with retaining compound....usually with carbon frames

Sold them. They were suitable for light riders only.

The exo carbon spoke models are not strong enough for heavier riders no matter what they advertise.

Please consult the frame manufacturer on that
It's one of those China mass production type Carbon Fibre Frames that don't have a brand name
So what are your thoughts on that R12 frame hanging there??
Havnt had a chance to build it up yet. Will do a vid on it soon

I thought carbon frame bikes aren’t supposed to be hung by their frame because the frame top tube isn’t meant to have that kind of pressure?
This is over 2 areas (of the TT) so I reckon it'd be ok 🤔
Oz... did I miss the episode in which you unpack and review the yoelo frame?
Can we expect a bike build episode?
Yes R12 vid soon

Easier to vacuum when you have equipment off the floor I've found. Problem with adhesive tapes is the heat in Australia.
