I love Ghana, you always get fresh vegetables and other fresh stuffs when you go to the market. You will eat fresh and stay healthy all the time 😋👌
We have the best food on the planet.
Ghana is a blessed land.
@Nana Ofori that's a stupid statement. SMH.
Organic food is cheaper than chemical food from the malls
@Nana Ofori Exactly... 💯💯👍
Hi Jasmine, I am from Taiwan and I moved to Ghana when I was nine years old .Lived in Akosombo till 19. I now live in San Francisco. Your videos have brought back all the old memories that I have had in Ghana. Thank you so much ,I love your videos! Miss kenyey so much . Couldn't find any Ghanaian cuisines here in SF Bay Area . 👍👍👍❤️🍓🍇🌈🌷☀️😊
Ella, just google ‘African Market near me’. You will find all the African & Caribbean markets/stores in the Bay Area.
There are some places in the east bay
African woman. All black people is same in motherland. Very good. I like it 😊 👏🏾🌍✨from🇨🇩
Exactly! God bless you all AFRICA 🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼♥️🐐🐐🐐🐐
My grandma used to sell charcoal. Brings back memories 😊
Morning Ladies, Aisha pronounce "coo-coomba" the same way in Jamaica. The veggies look great. Ghana ginger is the best. My mum test okra the same way too. Jamaicans eat "cow foot" as you call it :cow leg" . My maternal lineage is Ghanaian 😊😊
Most of us who know bit about Jamaica history we call it second Ghana
Jackie AQ...i am from Trinidad and Tobago. We also say 'cucumba'. Afro Trinbagonians (especially Tobagonians) descended from West African tribes such as the Iboe; Yoruba and possibly even Ghana. That ochro soup looks so delicious however we call pounded plantains 'fufu'. We do not pound yams; dasheen and other provisions except plantains.

Jasmine, you came to Ghana because of food. It's amazing to me how you are able to cook all these local foods considering that you mostly lived outside Ghana. Kudos
I did lol
I've been following your channel since you moved back to Ghana. I always enjoyed your videos but I must say you've really stepped up your game recently. Your channel has become even more interesting. Afican cooking and Jamaican cooking are exactly the same thing. Imagine that gravy on some oxtail. Excellent job 👏
In Ivory Coast, we call this dish "placaly". It is one of the popular breakface. Love it 😙

I miss that green leaves, the aroma it brings when you make green akple soup with it is just amazing.
Jose Alvarenga eeeeeeh??!!🤔🤔 are you alright in the head
AFIALEXISS TV hi
Jose Alvarenga stop this nonsense you are pulling. If you want a woman go on a dating site or go out in the real world and learn how to communicate with women
J NANA TAKYI TAKYI COLLINS are u her husband?
The boarders are now opened and you're inspiring dishes has becoming the tipping point with my decision to visit home🙌🏿
After watching this video I am definitely relocating to Ghana. Thanks a lot for sharing this piece with us. Amazingly awesome
@Deshone Robinson I am actually going to Ghana this November
"kewun" is called potash in English
And Ayoyo is called Jute leaves
Saa?
Is it the same as salt petre? Is it safe to use?
In Liberia, Jute leave is called palava sauce
@@markntiri8251 yes, but it takes along time for the body to get rid of it. A safer alternative is baking soda.
@ Joana thanks for the answer
Almost 28 minutes sis? What have we ever done to deserve this? 🤗🤗🤗💕 I love these videos. You can smell the aroma through the video.
Haha u show me love ❤️❤️

If you only know how I genuinely enjoy these vlogs. I could cry. Thank you. Though I wish I was there eating with you guys.
This is my favorite food or dish in Ghana and you cooked this food so effortlessly. Banku and okra soup /stew to me is the best Ghanaian dish. That is just my opinion. That food looks so delicious and I am just speechless. Yes I said it, I am speechless and hungry😋 Stay safe, stay positive and continue to stay blessed.🌟👑🌟♥️♥️♥️
❤️❤️
You re right. I love banku more than fufu
Jasmine, please show us a Koobi 🐟 dish sometime if you can 😋. Perhaps even how our ancestors have been preserving fish for ages.
The Ayoyo leaves is called Jute leaves..
The okra looks so fresh and nutritious!
Lol I love the part when you said"wo nkoa woanya meat senn ,wo tsi s3 banku",,,hahahahahaha,,,lol hahahahahaha Ghanaians are really funny oo
All these foods are making me hungry. Our food is uniquely delicious! 🍛
I really like what you doing you're showing us how to assimilate to the African culture... Ghana style of course!
Jasmine, you have made me so hungry and salivating I wish you could airlift me some. In 🇰🇪 we cook the same way BUT
1. We cook fish as seperate stew.
2. We cook okra and jute leaves as seperate stew but we add potash(what you call kwoom).
3. We make our 'ugali' by mixing corn and cassava flour then cook and mash just like you do. (We dont buy dough to go and recook).
Alice Okoth hi
Wow, it makes you appreciate the food when it takes so long to prepare. It looks delicious. Thank you for sharing.
The English name for the KAWU is BI CARBONATE OF SODA
Have always wondered what the name was
And what about potash then?
No its salt petre or potash... bicarbonate of soda is a different thing although usually used for baking but can be used as a meat tenderizer and make beans soft and okro slimey
Marie Love thanks for the enlightenment
Guess who is coming for dinner. Looks interesting
You're making me hungry ooo 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲

OMG 😳 they burn coal in Ghana just like Jamaica 🇯🇲 same people
So, what you think, jamaican black people are Africans, all blacks in the west, were sold into slavery to the Portuguese first, then to the whites, by our own black africans, so of course we are gonna cook the same way, behave the same way, talk same words, because thats our original tongue, we were forced to learn English, french, & other languages by the slave masters, (but remember our foreparent were were sold by our own black men)
@@Jamaica674 the Africans who sold each other did not view each other as the same people. Just like a Frenchman; Russian and Scots may all be white yet they are not the same people. I am from Trinidad & Tobago. My ancestors came from Africa. We cook similar to West Africans. Why do u all always come with who sold whom into slavery but neglect to say who financially benefitted for over 400 years.
Jute leaves
This is the same process down my Country, The DR of CONGO and...I'm pretty sure it applies to all part of Africa. God bless
@@josweetlove1537 @Jennifer bent That narrative was also created to breed mistrust and hate among us. It is literally comparing a FEW bad people selling Others to entire nations raping and decimating a civilisation.
Love your videos.. Thanks for sharing
Oh waaaaaaw this looks too good. 😍😍😍
Aisha is hilarious as usual😜.Is she your sister or cousin and do y'all live together since she is usually in your videos playing the main character Lol🤣
Haha none of the above, she lives with my grandma. Our Q and A coming shortly xx
Looks delicious!♥️♥️💯💯
Look délicious Jasmine
wow very nice love it
Hello Jasmine, you're doing a great job.
Marie thanks for the explanation
That's lovely, one of my favourite dishes as well! Grating the okro is a good idea. The jute leaves are a new one for me. I've had the okro stew without tomatoes which really brings out the flavour. Sometimes I add finely chopped garden eggs. Oh, the first time I heard "cucumber" pronounced that way I was confused. Also what we would call mackerel, some call it salmon or osaman. Thank you 💕
