The #ToyotaCorolla is one of the most popular cars in the world. So it makes sense that #Toyota would finally offer a #CorollaHybrid in order to appeal to customers who want even better MPG. For 2020, the #Corolla moves to the TNGA architecture, sports an entirely new look on the outside and inside, and should be the sportiest Corolla the company has ever made. Add in a #hybrid powertrain from the #ToyotaPrius and buyers looking for over 50 MPG will find a lot to like as long as they don’t expect thrilling acceleration or a more aggressive design.

Actually hybrids can be crazy fast and Toyota is the only company to achieve crazy high endurance speed and efficiency on hybrids.
      Google this " TS050 hybrid"
It,s a hybrid race car that won the le mans endurance speed race in 2018 and 2019.
In consumer cars, weight has to be reduced to achieve that speed and efficiency and that involves a solid state battery and high strength steel.
The rav4 prime could even be faster and more efficient in the very near future " maybe in 2025" with the release of the solid state battery.
The solid state battery will achieve two things, reduce the weight of the car and increase the only electric range.
Toyota is also the most likely to have a working solid state battery first as they have the most patents by far. It,s not close at all. Solid state battery and extensive use of high strength steel will turn the rav4 prime and maybe the future highlander prime into fast efficient beasts.

I own one and it does NOT get 700 mpg! The tank is 11.4 gallons and I've been able to squeeze 9.5+ gallons in it with the "empty light" on and the needle just slightly above the "Empty" mark.
Hand calculated gets me 52+ mpg, driving 70+mph and stop & go traffic on my daily 104 mile round trip commute 5x a week for work.
I'm not complaining to say the least but when you read 64mpg, 67mpg, and 73mpg, etc., from these viewers here, these are the car's computer "estimates" at the time your driving.
Not saying it may be hitting those marks, but "true mpg" is to hand calculate upon filling up to get the exact mpg of the car: total miles driven / by number of gallons to fill tank = your mpg.
Hope this cleared things up. Let's be real here okay. It's still a damn good car and I've been very impressed with quality, comfort, and mpg for an economy hybrid car. Toyota delivered!

EU Corolla gets the 2.0l hybrid from the Camry and a wagon ("touring sports") with a *huge* cargo space.
The US gets only 1 trim of hybrid: the sedan with the smaller engine and limited features available. No hybrid hatch and no wagon available at all. Sadly, this is probably the smart business move by Toyota since we prefer land-barges that get 12 MPG here, but I would have gone for the hybrid wagon over anything else on the market in a heartbeat. I suspect there is more market here than they think.

Shouldn't sales numbers play into the "desirability" category? I mean if your looking for a dependable, cheap and efficient car, then the Corolla hybrid is pretty desirable, but if your looking for a powerful and sporty car, then not so much. So I would think sales numbers in that particular segment would be an indicator of desirability for those looking for a particular set of criteria.

The Full-Speed Adaptive Cruise Control handles the Accelerator, Generator, and Brakes to go from 0 - 60, back to 0, then back to 60. 2. When buying an economic car, unless it's a Tesla, people don't care much about 0-60. If anything, the majority of the car owners don't really need that number. They have it for bragging or status. Barely use the car to its limit. Highway is limited to about 65 or 70. City is limited to 35~45. Your 300HP 0-60 in 5 secs is useless and is just a gas hog

That corolla wagon looks bad ass. I would definitely love to get my hands on one in the US. Bring it please!

    Sofyan...
I think it's a great idea with the ratings, but since most of the cars you review are pretty new, I think you should consider to change the "Longevity" to something like Luxury (the experience) or maybe even Leasing...
I hope you will think about it, and keep up the great work!

Excellent review. Thanks for looking at what this was designed for. This convinced me to go with a Camry or something a little nicer.

You will have to decide between the Camry Hybrids with Lithium or Nickel batteries. I would upgrade a Camry to the Avalon Hybrid for a few bucks more.

Interesting, as I was able to easily get 55mpg in the insight city. I haven't driven the Corolla Hybrid yet but I wasn't really able to fit when I tried to sit in one. They look great and id love to see how good I could get in the city with this hybrid.

I don't care how you rate this car but this is a deal breaker for me. I have been driving 2010 toyota corolla and absolutely love that car. Now that they have hybrid version i am going to buy this one. Remember you treat your car just like your wife and she will take care of you

I like Honda Insight better because of faster acceleration, better city EPA rating(I drive mostly under 60 MPH), roomier interior, better cargo volume, and Android auto.

The hybrid system in the Hondas have never been as sophisticated as a Toyota. Plus the cylindrical batteries in the Hondas are expensive to replace. I can buy a Toyota module on E-Bay for $45 and replace it myself.

Stanny1 I remember I saw someone in the comment section in this video or other video that he said Toyota charge $4500 to replace the battery in a 11 year old Toyota Prius, 4500 is a lot.
