Can we just take a moment to appreciate how far Isaac has gone? Like at the very first we only had Isaac, Maggy, Cain, Judas and Blue Baby as characters and only about 200 items with the farthest your run could go being to the chest. And now we have 34 characters with over 700 items and multiple possible end routes with the chest, dark room, mega satan, void, corpse and home almost 10 years later.
Hell, at the earliest you could only go to Satan I think

I have a stupid idea. How many achievements can you get in a hypothetical playthrough without unlocking butter bean? Obviously you assume you never get a randomly generated room with required poop to break, and never fight bosses like Carrion Queen. It's stupid but only hypothetical.

- All of these videos are tested over and over again by me and a few other discord members, so there's not much anyone can really add to the route that we dont know about. -Make sure you watch all the videos before commenting, seriously. I like responding to you guys to clear stuff up, but a lot of it is repeats. So if you misunderstand something I didn't explain well, I probably already answered it in another comment.

@@adamkickface3776 well kinda, this glitch i discovered does prove that some sort of menu manipulation in the game exists, theoretically if we found a way to begin a greed mode run using the same seed qualifiers as a victory lap or rerun, we could probably count it as legit. it would depend how that manipulation works and the logistics of calling it legit

@@bquad you go to home and use the red key. Make sure that player one is Cain (using clicker) and after that when you r key you can add a 4th player (tainted Cain)

I suffered with that with Azazel myself, the only way I managed to unlock Forgotten was when I got Haemolacria with Azazel which negated his short brimstone and let me fight with nornal, strong tears. Lets you run the risk of bumping into things while attacking/avoiding mom less.

Also unlocked Forgotten with Azazel.
It required an insane run, i dont remember what exactly was my build but it contained Fruit Cake (its amazing with Brimstone), The Wafer (Stomps only gave half a heart damage so it was much less suffering), and somehow, i managed get myself Full Red Heart HP Bar (I got a rare room with 5 identical pills, all of them were Health Ups by sheer luck), while it ruined my chances at Devil/Angel Rooms it was BEAUTIFUL to be able to just refill your health as easy as that, specially because Red hearts kept spawning at Boss Rush so i never ran below 10 hearts.
Quick tip: Reset until you get rainbow dough or fruit cake, they are amazing with Brimstone (that includes Azazel's).
I saw a vid of some dude with a 19+ hours run where he reseted everything, item pools, achievements, etc when using the R key item, even after a victory lap
the R keys weren’t all found organically, and yeah, that’s what i said in the video, the pools were reset

You didn't talk about how the phantom lap removes the other Co op characters which is huge because you can change the other players (unless you found another thing which changes that)

I've watched back those videos and now I know why those weird bugs happens and it is great to revisit those
The victory lap bug rely on how resetting overwrites the save data into an empty run but then pressing Yes overwrites it AGAIN to the proper victory lap, while doing +1 to the lap count, which became 0 thanks to resetting
The mom skip glitch has a similar effect, when the cut-scene starts, the save data is overwritten so that it can't be continued, but then the end of the fade out saves on top of that to "revive" the run
Had to repeat the video like 3 times because of me getting distracted by the background gameplay 😳(i know this comment is 8 mins since the video upload and the video is 14 min but I'm not talking literally ok?)

Hey, a while back I left a comment hypothesizing that TMTrainer could theoretically make it possible to unlock a tainted character before unlocking their non-tainted variant, if you could randomly get the Judas's Shadow or Lazarus's Rags or Missing Poster effect from a glitched item.
I just discovered this is probably possible: I died in DELETE THIS, and happened to respawn under the effect of inner child, an item which I have not unlocked yet. I think we can safely assume the other character changing items would be available as well.
that doesn’t really do anything special for us because clicker exists, and there’s no cain respawn item. in fact TMT would definitely mess up the rest of the run, because once we get it, we can no longer craft normal clicker or normal items that we need

I am just wondering, how do you switch to tainted cain after unlocking him? As with clicker you can't switch from a non-tainted to a tainted character and vice versa.
co-op, you leave a slot open, once you unlock t cain, someone joins in as him after you use r key.

By your logic, if you pick up Eden's Blessing and then reset, you're in the same run.

@@bd1pLP It may be a new seed, but whether you get the items or not is dependent on the first run's seed. And having 1-10 free items at the start of the game can change the run entirely, the same way Devil Deals can.
I'm really interested to see if anything comes out of the version difference information. It's definitely wild and I can't imagine it's random.
since the time of recording this, it feels like my game has switched “versions” where i can no longer keep items between phantom laps. Interestingly enough, victory laps also are given two seeds to go between, so there’s a lot more here to delve into
So, without much RNG lability, it can become a Speedrun Category? It would be cool and boring at the same time

i think there is a problem becouse to unlock bone hearts you need to get forgotten. So you can't craft r keys until you get him

i do consider victory lap the same run, but i don't consider the bugs valid, so for me this is not really a legit run, the crash stuff blablabla.

This is a great video. You do really great investigative work in this game, and your writeups were very good! I just have one question. Would you be able to talk slower and enunciate more clearly? I know you said you have a speech impediment, so I understand that there may be a ceiling on how much your speaking fluency can be boosted. However, I have to say that I found it very difficult to understand what you were saying for most of the video. And I say that with the understanding that you have a lot of great content here! That said, however, the narration is central to your presentation - so the more you can improve that, the more you will be able to elevate your videos as a whole. Generally, I find that most people with speech impediments encounter much less resistance if they talk WAY slower (like 0.5x - 0.6x your current rate) and do multiple takes for each bit of narration until they can maximize fluency in the final product. I think your ideas are great, and your channel could really take off - and I think improving the narration will help you get closer to that goal! (Just to be clear, I'm not some hater. I want to see you succeed, and I think it's within your reach! So I hope you appreciate my advice. 🙂)
