Worst part about this is that building immortals is the biggest pain in the ass. Their pauldrons never line up neatly, and you need to glue their guns on at three points simultaneously.
If the left hand and wrist connection point had a little peg or something, that would have solved a lot of the frustrations of building that kit.
I always found that their cables running from spine to gun had issues.
necrons are the most tedious army to build...
Only thing worse for Necrons to build as far as infantry would be the damn flayed ones...
I actually just use my Warriors as Immortals
As soon as I saw the Canoptek Court, I knew this was what I was going to use. I have a night scythe as well, so I can pick them up after they fire so they are protected from melee and possibly fly them to a new spot for unloading/shooting each round.
Wow I mean someone using scythes other than me is crazy.
One of my friends played a scythe. I overwatched, killed it (somehow) and it dropped all its troops down and did more damage to them than if they’d just walked the distance
I still use the Doom scythe, what are your guys thoughts on it in this edition?
@@WillHaus13 Trash like all flyers
@@newvegasify1 honestly it’s really sad, I can’t blame you. It’s not reliable. The damage isn’t guaranteed.
Immortals love canoptek court. Very fluffy to bring Szeras along, flanked by 2 units of 10 immortals and dominate the mid-board whilst Techno-wraiths hammer the flanks and pressure the backfield.
Sounds about right, yeah. Isn't there lore that immortals sworn to a cryptek are called Despoteks?
@johnj.spurgin7037 I'm not deep into kill team but I thought a Despotek was basically a Royal Warden Lite (seeming as crypteks aren't royal) who's job was to orchestrate the will of the cryptek to its necron minions (warriors, immortals). I dont think despoteks form massed units like Immortals.
2 units of 10 immortals with szeras? Are you Jeff bezos?
@@person4436 thats cheaper than Necrons Combat Patrol. Do you play games bigger than 500pts?
Tesla Immortals have been one of my favorite Necron units ever since I started playing, and I maintained they were better than people gave them credit for even in the index. Now I'm really looking forward to running them!
Also, while cryptothralls won't be nearly as good, I'd still consider running them with Teslas if they're not too expensive, especially if I have two characters in the unit. Having an extra six ablative wounds for a ten wound squad is pretty impactful
I must admit that I'm tempted to take a Tachyon arrow Overlord with immortals and a hit-reroll dynasty. Trading the defense of the res-orb for even more accurate punch against heavier targets seems pretty nice!
Someone actually uses the Tachyon Arrow?
It will inevitably miss its once a game shot, so no one ever takes them. Even with the nerf, the Res Orb is just so much or useful overall.
I will finally have a reason to build my 4 Boxes of Immortals and play the Plasmancer as an actual Plasmancer. Happy times indeed.
This video is legit the first time I’ve ever heard someone say “down in Canada”. Usually we’re referred to as up North lol
I've been running Szeras and 10 immortals with Tesla since the index came out... though I dont play Necrons a lot. They were already pretty good with that, and adding in all this is going to make them crazy
This is what stuck out to me the most from the codex, I was already running Anrakyr immortals to decent effect and getting a way to fish for sustained hits AND dev wounds makes this absurdly awesome.
14:07 auspex slide vs fake pngs.
Was fine for the previous slide
The kill team box offers 5 immortals as well but you may biuld one to be the kill team themed immortal despotek which is almost a 1:1 royal warden. Its a really good royal warden to put in immoral groups with their matching gun vs the regular ones warrior type gun.
Thanks for the video. The canoptek court immortals will make custodes cry. Finally I have a grudge to settle....
The immortals with a plasmancer, and illuminor has been my go to for mid range damage and it’s been killer. I’m curious if the teslas can be better with that combo
I’ve killed a haruspex with Tesla/plasmancer while they were still indexes, it will fun to see how effective the overlord is to the fray, 😊
Regarding tesla vs gauss: unless you're wounding on 6s, the advantage of gauss is the AP. Anything that cancels that advantage makes the tesla better (unless you are wounding on 6s). This includes against T6-9 with a 2+ save and only rerolling 1s to wound.
You add the enhancement that lets you infiltrate up the board on a brick of 20 warriors to sit on primary to start pressuring your opponents on points while threatening powerful shooting. Canoptek Court looks strong for Necrons.
Anything with sustained hits i really like, so its a nobrainer i love tesla immortals
It's always a good feeling when somehow you wind up with more hits than you had shots :)
@@auspextactics it's the ork player DNA in me I'm almost sure of it
This just got an errata to only effect cryptek and canoptek models in the selected unit, so only the plasmancer would benefit from the addition of devastating wounds now.
They don't stay around after that though. At 1 wound each it's quite expensive for one round of shooting.
Love this content
Now *THAT'S* a lotta of Damage!
Hello, I don't find it in the rules that the Immortals get the Cryptek keyword if a Cryptek leads the unit.
Can you help me please. Where is that written?
Thank you
I found it in the rules commentary.
Immortals are my back gunline unit. They get a plasmancer for extra offense and a royal warden just in case. Use gauss because I only play against space marines. In a 1k game they can be devastating
I like the plasmancer with tesla immortals
Wow. Glad I have some from 8th edition!
I have like imortals for a while but the codex made it easy to say yes. I agree that these can help take objectives, but combined with charging wraiths Inmortals soften the target and wraiths finish it off as they are not major damage deals so I feel it is a soild combination.
А сколько можно брать Надзиратель и криптека Плазмансер и нового Повелителя ?
Друг а ты сделаешь пехотный ростер с бесмертными и воинами ? Что бы щнать что и мколько брать и какие оружие брать для тех же воинов
Sounds great. Not bought a codex though, not for any army so far. I'll catch the next batch or maybe the batch after that. They come thick and fast these days. I'll just catch the rules on Battle scribe.
Battlescribe isn't great. New Recruit is a more modern army builder, and for rules, I'd recommend Wahapedia
Love this, I have always loved Tesla but I mainly play VS my roommate and he plays Custodes...... ya Tesla does usually nothing.
thanks
I ran 10 immortals with overlord and plasmancer in awakened dynasty using the updated re roll hits for free strat. And even though i had no devastating wounds, the amount of saves your oppo needs to roll is ridiculous... all for fewer points than a squad of 20 warriors...... 11" move makes them hard to dodge as well
Warriors make their name from being the foundation of resilience and the ability to make them almost unkillable. I don't see that anymore with the RP nerfs.
yeah so now raw firepower is better, and even cheaper :P@@johnj.spurgin7037
Aint no way I got a minute and 30 sec unskippable ad
As excited as i am that my zappy bois are getting attention, if they get nerfed im gonna cry
I'm already thinking 4 blocks of 10 Immortals, 2 Tesla, 2 Guass with Plasmancers in the Tesla. 2 blocks of 10 Shield Guard. Then I'll figure out the rest later. Maybe 2 blocks of 20 warriors.
Great vid and nice coverage with the discounts, with the exception of one big market; EU. With Brexit, I am not sure the tariffs from Element games is worth the discount. Any plays for an EU affiliation?
aesthetically, I prefer the gauss. kind of a shame tesla seems to be the way to go.
I've been running a 10 man Immortal squad with Anrakyr for years now, so sad to see him go with the codex, the index's +1 to wound he gave the squad would have made them insane on the table with the codex.
I've always preferred Immortals to Warriors, and with the recent nerf just reinforces that!
I'd love to have a video on admech codex combos but there are juste... none
It does feel like it's lacking stacking combos, at least compared to necrons.
Unless points changes differently than the leaks predict, all this confirms my feeling that 10th is a Immortal Edition.
And just like that, immortals went from $35-$40 bucks on Amazon to $45-$48.
Glad I picked some up last month.
Just have to decide which weapon to build them with.
It is beyond me why Immortals are still 1W?
true, they have the same larger frame that the elite lychguard/praetorians have. However they're still battleline (meaning we can bring 6 units if we wanted) so the 1w *is* better for reanimation - provided the don't get deleted in one go. The higher toughness AND better save does go further than one thinks when compared to warriors.
This is what 9th missed.
Immortals used to be choky warriors but you couldn't get 20.
Now they finally have their place in the army as elite shooting unit
I'm really frustrated by how warriors have gone, since GW had me building up an army based on them. The cables are absolutely terrible on these models, they never line up right or stay in place, and even trying to use kicker goes wrong, at least for me... But I'll be building up one squad with the Teslas now to use with the new Overlord.
The moment I saw this combo in the reviews video, I bought 10 of them to make a tesla unit. I plan on running hypercrypt and obeisance quite a bit, so having one of each of these units will be pretty awesome. I will be running plasmancer + transdimensional with tesla, and regular overlord + plasmancer with guass.
so this is where Wrath of Mars went.
Nice to see GW's sales team turning their eye towards canoptek models. They need to pump those rookie numbers.
Quickly then!
Give them OP rules! Nerf what people bought already!
Re-Roll Wounds don't mean you have "automatic hit" chance. Cause Lethal Hits are on Hit Roll. You should correct this
I've seen other people talking about this combo and I just don't see it.
You need to have a unit of Immortals with a Technomancer, spend 2 cp, and then target something on an objective to do what is "decent" but not impressive damage coming from a unit that dies to a stiff breeze.
Don't change the stratagem, just make it not a Battle Tactic. Knowing GW, they'll nerf Tesla, the Stratagem, Dev Wounds again and increase immortals 5 ppm and make everything associated with this combo useless.
So true! Why does GW have to nerf something like 4 times in 1 update. They don’t balance they just over nerf/buff to make sales.
Meanwhile us Drukhari players feel like on an island... with Dark Lances and nothing else. Man the current edition feels so rough when you are forced to play certain weapons or units and so much of your army feels utterly useless.
Long range tesla feels wrong. The whole point of these weapons was to be some kind of shotgun for the necrons.
I'm still bewildered as to why immortals aren't two wounds yet. For being more elite than warriors, it's strange for them to share the same number of wounds
When they were first introduced, Immortals were supposed to be the equivalent to Terminators. Not sure why they ever deviated from that.
My buddy was sure this combo would be nerfed - typical GW adds dev.wounds in it 😅
I think you meant to say "Shook Elites".
Fingers crossed that when GW inevitably nerfs this combo, they nerf the detachment not Immortals in general. They're not an issue in other detachments
Points are out and you will be seeing these immortals very soon… translocation shroud lord is 85 pts of best in class… plasmancer is one of the cheaper crypteks and 10 immortals is 140 points both of them in the squad spits out at 260ish and hurts abit. Nightbringer is 255… cheapest ctan and is an utter beast… he has a death missile of deal with it… the monolith is 350 which is probably too points heavy… lychguard are 170 for 10 so that’s a thing and ghosts arcs are 125 doomsday arcs are 200 so yeah. Locust destroyers are 35 per model and heavy are 50pts per.
I did this combo with veil of darkness now I don't need to spend 20 extra pts and I can do it with 2 squads easily. Lol
Veil of darkness is from a different detachment than this combo
Ty for so good news 🎉🎉
I would love to see new Immortals models this edition. Current ones need a refresh after 13 years...
Get in line, we need new Lokhust "light" destroyers before that. :)
Not even close to the top of my Necton "needs a refresh" list.
The nightbringer model is almost 20 🫥
Its obvious they never tested Necron vs Ad Mech as written in codex.
Codex comes how: "Holy SHIT this is such a nerf, the faction's unplayable now!"
No more than seven days later: "Ok boys and girls here's how you use basic infantry to violate a tank so bad that the ad-mech are afraid to go outside at night".
People, this is why you have to give the dust a chance to settle before forming an opinion on game balance.
The fact that there is a couple good strategies to take advantage of the new codex doesn't change the fact that it was overall a nerf. This strategy has been available since 10th came out, granted the detachment rules and the Transdimensional overlord can make it a little better.
The real reason for the new codex changes was to make models that people bought a lot of last edition weaker and models that people didn't buy as many of better so that people will go out and buy new models. That is just the way GW works.
Noticed this a few days ago. It won't survive a balance update.
Depends on if the necrons win rate drops or not.
My thoughts as well. Hopefully rather than just squash us all over again they just swap the stratagem from being a battle tactic so it can't be used for free
Forgot about Anrakyr the traveler. Giving +1 to wound effectively gives the immortals a strength of 9 against anything not toughness 10.
Anrakyr wasn't forgotten, he wasn't included because he isn't in the new codex at all. He's gone, GW got rid of him, along with Obyron and Zahndrekh
It's Shook, not shock;)
I ran this exact combination on Saturday vs my brother and his space marines/dark angels
I literally one shot Lion El Johnson with an immortals squad dropping like 14 dev wounds on him
Its so poweeful i was accused if making things up or not reading the rules correctly because theres no way my "scrub" immortals just wiped him hahaha
Because we often get fucked by our rules, People tend to forget that, canonically, we Necron have absolutely the strongest arsenal of weapon of the whole setting ...
@@arykaasThat's honestly, to me, probably the reason. Bad ass in the story means being less than stellar on the table for "balance" reasons.
The Inquisition/church are in a similar boat. In the sense that they have access to everything they want in the lore but rules wise their gear is abhorrently basic. Even GS get to take cool things the two forces don't. All while non chapter specific marines have three codexes worth of unit options. GW being GW.
This is probably one of the few bright spots in the new codex.
i see power-creep has already started... good work GW
Nah, Deathwatch had a way worse combo day 1 and Nids had insane Secondary play, it's just GW not seeing all the possible combos before they're released
Aaand, here comes a nerf. XD
Terrible terrible damage!
all factions have a crazy amount of rerolls... :S
I wish. Guard has basically zero, and the fews that are there have a ton of riders. It means that if you roll even a tiny bit cold, Guard performance _tanks_ , and that is one reason why it's doing like it's doing.
Seems like GW really wants to sell some Immortals haha
I dont know why people are putting the canoptek court bonus everywhere. IT DOES NOT WORK. In a normal game where you dance around the objectives only time you will actually have 2 objectives is AFTER you have done your melee attack on the objective. Only times you actually get the bonus is if your already winning the field control and most likely the game or your in your own deployment zone.
Power Matrix is checked at the start of each PHASE. So if you control 50% of the Objectives at the end of the Movement Phase (for example by running the Immmortals up), you do get the full re-rolls.
Don't forget the enhancement that grants infiltrators
Can immediately take 2 objectives with a warrior brick and then advance 2 or more immortals units at movement phase
This is the perfect example. Imagine that after this your on the other end of the field.@@Stormhierta
CZcamsrs are gonna keep blasting new combos and they gonna get nerfed🤫
CRAZY Damage == CLICKBAIT
