I'm glad you did this one, my friend. Knowing what bits are great to use with always help

I had never really checked out the flagellents box before and I wish I had done so sooner. Lots of those parts are crying out to be zombies or necromancers
Luckily the skeleton box of old has come back into service for tomb kings albeit not with their original command frames. Sadly the original plastic zombies aren’t likely to be coming back soon.
Some really awesome conversions showcased in the video. I know if have been having fun lately doing some conversions even if fairly simple ones
I am going to have to try and pick up a box of the skulls as well…lots of possibilities there too

I would really like to se the non-tomb skeletons back. I think that would be a fourth box :)

"It's from Necromunda, the name of the gang I cannot remember."
And that's just how the secretive [redacted] like it.
Good video. I'd also suggest almost anything from the AdMech army as top tier grimdarking fodder. I have boxes upon boxes of Sicarii (the spindly-legged guys with the dome heads), and have never made a single Sicarian model from them.

@@harbl99 Apparently they do a good job 🤔
I might not have said it explicitly but I'm this video I was focusing on fantasy. I certainly agree that AdMech is awesome stuff. Please check out the sharpshooter in my Phobos Kill Team. It was not aiming for grimdark but I still find it one of my all time favourite conversions.
But also thinking about it I suppose depending on how you interpret fantasy AdMech can still be a part of it.

As a 30k militia player flagellants and ghuls are my bread and butter, they're perfect for building penitents and enthralled mutants which is sort of the theme l'm going with.

Fyi ghoul is pronounced like "ɡo͞ol", kind of like "pool" in "swimming pool". Someone in history probably added in extra unnecessary letters to make it look more fancy.
Love the pub wizards, especially the one with a book on a stick.

@@SquizmWizzerdThank you. They are likely to appear again and now i don't have to think about it :)
The frost Wizard is my second favourite and I smile when I imagine how he, full of confidence, screwed up losing his right arm to a magical frostbite 🥶

also blighkings and necromundas cawdors are grat boxes for grimdark stuff

    • @honestminis9530
      @honestminis9530  Před měsícem +1

@@Qew77 I have a box of cawdors and find them a 'b-tier' box. They are awesome when used right but if you want to do fantasy you have to be a bit more picky about which parts to use.
I've never tried the blightkings but they certainly look to be a great kit for whatever nurgle needs one might have 🙂

I immediately bought a box of skulls. My dark elves need them all over. Question what shade of red you think would look good on a Dark Elf/Dark Eldar army? I was thinking scab red. Vibrant enough to pop but dull enough to be grimdark. Also I want lots of skull posts on my guys backs kinda like chaos but I wanna stay away from obvious chaos symbols on them as they aren't chaos. Know of any good bits for that? I think you would dig my dark elves they're very savage much less clean than usual elf look. I'm using slaves to darkness round Shields and axes on my Corsairs to really make them Norse inspired. Also using putty to make my own fur cloaks because it's hard to find one's that fit my guys. Elves in thick and heavy fur cloaks is kinda heresy but that's the point.

@@trompell0 That really sounds like a case for the skulls :)
Colorwise I almost never use anything but primaries but I found a comparison chart including hex codes. Looking at those it seems to be a pure, dark red and that seems like a good choice. They really sound like something i would like to see.
I had to think a bit about the symbol thing. With my Brettoninans i just painted my own symbol. In small places i simply used a permanent marker :)
The first thing that come to mind is to use something other out of context. Like skaven symbols that will at least not build further on to the chaos vibes.
The last thing would be a fun challenge is to use small strips of paper or plastic to build something. It really does not have to be anything thick.
Those are my five cents that i hope can be useful 🤔

@@honestminis9530 thank you for responding that's kind of you. The kitbashing is going well. I made my own plastic Shades with Eldar Rangers + drukhari unhelmeted heads + crossbow bits + Har Ganeth executioners. My Corsairs are made of Executioners + Dark riders + slaves to darkness. They're absolutely beautiful you would love them. I also took the Rangers heads and snipers and kotbashed them with the Voidscarred eldar Corsair kill team and made some Dark Eldar Rangers. I plan on kitbashing howling banshees and witch elves lol. I will experiment with painting the extras and see what color I settle on. Thanks for your great channel you teach me things as I'm just returning to the hobby after a long break. I appreciate the tips. I looked at literally every single AoS model and I've been sniping the bits I like. I'm glad my dark eldar cross over so well with dark elves too you'd be surprised how medieval alot of their stuff looks. I put an eldar telescope on one of my shades and it reminded me your green marines how you used that chaos knife or how your bombardier has ash on his face or so many of your other lovely details I could mention. You're inspiring with your creativity. All the little details are the best part! Sorry for the long post! Lol
