    Thanks for the video.
    How do you think this stacks up against the Gen 2 Razor? It's considerably less heavy, but how do the turrets and glass stack up?
    I'm trying to choose between the 3.3-18 and 3-18 and as they are pretty much the same street price it's hard to decide between the two.

    Great video, thanks Jose! I want to pick up a nicer scope than my SWFA 20x for long range shooting here in the near future and this looks like a good option.

    Japanese prices for Phillipine glass! Not so sure about this one.

    I have a Remington 700 Police In 300 Win Mag. I am currently making the switch to this scope. It has a TPS 20 MOA Rail....suggestion on ring height? I have a Vortex PST 5x25-50 on there now with low rings. You think i will have any issues with low rings?

      I’d like to know the same thing. I’m thinking my rail on top of a Rem 700 Sendero should allow me to use low height rings. (I have some 34mm Warne mountain techs and it would be nice to not buy anything new). The 56mm reticle scares me though.

    How many miles of elevation are available after zeroing at 100 yards? thank you.

      With a 20 moa rail on my action I gave about 17.5 I beleive. I would have to go check

    How do you like the reticle at low magnification? Is it useable at 5.5-8 power?

    • @longrangetactics
      @longrangetactics  Před rokem +1

      The reticle at 5.5 is useable once familiar with it, though the numbers themselves can be less than readable. But I don’t fault the scope for that, as scenarios that require that low of power don’t usually require a lot of precise holding over. I will say the new illuminated models really help the reticle at low power.

      @@longrangetactics at low power I’m only concerned with seeing the crosshairs easy enough for quick shots at closer ranges. As you said at those magnifications there aren’t a lot of times you would be using the tree. I’ve just seen several FFP reticles that are perfect higher in the magnification range being really hard to pick up the center point at low power. Basically the use case for low power on a scope like this isn’t much of a concern for most, but I’ve seen some reticles (like the reticle in my ZCO 4-20) that are very useable if you are at low magnification and need to take a quick shot at close to moderate range. Good illumination definitely helps. Since I’m not made of money I can’t just buy a bunch of ZCOs for all my rifles. When looking at bang for the buck the XTR3 stands out as lots of performance for the dollar.

    How is the reticle on the 3.3-18 at 3.3 mag? Is it still useable for hunting?

    • @longrangetactics
      @longrangetactics  Před rokem

      The scr2 mil reticle would is useable at 3.3 though less than ideal on the non illuminated model I review in this video . However now that they have discontinued the non illum models, the illuminated models make the reticle quite useable at low power.

      I just got my buck at 3.3 power using this and I can confirm it works well for hunting at that magnification.

      Hi José, just wondering about the eye box..I have a midas tac 6-24x50 with a very tight eye box and am looking to upgrade to this scope. What do you think of the eye box on the Burris XTR3 5-30×56?
