    Welcome to the XTR Pro family! It's about time you tried one. I've owned one for close to a year now and I still love it.

    Another great video. I love my Burris optics. I also love the Triggercam2.1. It has helped me a lot to see what i'm doing on a stage.

    06:12 that is a really smart feature to put on the scope for people shooting different ranged targets. So simple but so smart.

      It’s one of those features that you didn’t know you wanted, until you see someone using it in a match!

      @@22LimaRomeo I knew I wanted it from failed attempts to do it on other turrets.

    When you can see bullet trace it’s like a gift. Seeing your misses and calling the h hits before the target moves is so helpful. The shiny bullets in the upper Eley line seem to make it easier, I’m not sure if that just due to jacked up vision or if it helps everyone. I’d be interested in a pole.
    Re; the Burris scope the rep brought one by and we fiddled with it for quite a while, some said the big turrets were in the way, I didn’t notice them. It was bright and generally clear but I never found a spot where the detail was $2300 clear, but my right eye is jacked up so I never go off just how it looks to me.

    Try using a china pencil on the dry erase turret. Its not as fine as a sharpie but it's water proof and doesn't smear as easily but you can still wipe it away with a finger.

    If the scope is any good. Those removable turrets would be astounding for different bullet weights in a Is center fire rifle.🎉 iam in to the 6mm class of rifles All I can say is we will see how it turns out.

    I’ve shot my xtr pro in a night match and when it is dark the whole reticle does illuminate. It is not as pronounced as the center section that you see in the daytime. Try turning it on in a dark room and you will see what I mean. Appreciate your content!

    This seems like the Corvette of scopes where it does have some great innovation and legit performance. Sadly the brand just has the same cheesy stigma.
    I’ve had bad experiences with Burris lower end products so I don’t think I could spend that much money on one of their products, even though I admit that’s a stupid reason. 😂

    I bought a XTR several years back. It is a XTR II I think they have a III and then the Pro came out. The Pro is way more than the first model I have and mine only focuses to fifty yards. Actually it won't focus at fifty more like sixty. I sent it back and there was nothing wrong with it according to Burris. Very disappointed with it as far as the glass quality but like you say you get what you pay for. I bought it with a QD mount from LaRue and ended up with over a grand in it LaRue doesn't sell scope packages anymore I really like their mounts I have several of them. I will say something positive about it the dials are very precise and return to zero perfectly. I can move this scope from one rifle to another and keep up with my dials with the LaRue mount and be zeroed every time I place the scope back on each rifle. I believe these were introduced as an entry level scope and that is what it is the Pro at two thousand should absolutely be a better optic I would have to see one to convince me I got a little soured with the one I have and it's not the only Burris product I own I have two other ones. Good luck with yours.

    No comments about how the other knobs feel? I've had mine for about 9 months and run it on a centerfire PRS rifle. I like the feel of the elevation turret but the parallax and illumination knobs leave a fair bit to be desired. The parallax is still stiff and gritty, where the illumination knob has a springy, loose feel, like it's half unscrewed. I might have missed it but the XTR models have some of the best FOV specs.

    How does the glass compare to the German Schott glass in the Tract Toric? Tract seems like a better value and has more elevation, especially the 4x25x50? 25 mil isn’t much elevation these days?

    • @PursuitofAccuracy
      @PursuitofAccuracy  Před 4 měsíci +1

      The glass is maybe slightly better than the toric (its also $500 more than the toric).
      Keep in mind that was my useable elevation from my zero with a 30 moa base. I think the total elevation travel is in the 30's so its very comparable.
      25 mils will get me to 400+ yards in rimfire matches dialing so its more than useable for rimfire or centerfire

    If you let others use your scope match mark the diopter setting with a metallic sharpie or the like. My eyes are messed up enough that it is a given others will turn mine.

    • @takedeadaim8671
      @takedeadaim8671 Před 4 měsíci +1

      I agree and I have mine marked but I tell anyone I hand it to ? “Leave the diopter alone”. Anyone who’s had cataracts or bad astigmatism will attest to how hard it is to find the sweet spot in one of the few scopes you pick up that does not look like garbage.

    Well done, nice review, good job, $2000 dollar guns are out of my wheelhouse let alone optics.
    having 4 to 5 grand in a 22 LR is well probably way out of reality for just about 90% of your audience. I'm not criticizing, just saying.

    • @ColeMettes-il3uk
      @ColeMettes-il3uk Před 4 měsíci

      It’s all perspective. I remember thinking that same thing on price of gear on 22s. But if 22 is your jam like it’s become for me and my kids, quality of glass is very important seeing impacts and misses.

    • @charlesmckinley29
      @charlesmckinley29 Před 4 měsíci

      Duke attend a NRL22 or a PRS22 event and you will be amazed at the number of people there and the amount of money they have tied up in their equipment. Even shooting the “factory” class is pricey. That is before figuring out what ammo is going to consistently connect with a 2 MOA or smaller target at distance.

      @@charlesmckinley29 I live near Ridgeway PA. You can google The Ridgeway Rifle Club, you can see the club hosts many National championships and State matches. This year they have started a new match called 22 LR. BRS, and LR. ERBRS matches that look fun. Your correct I've seen many rifles that are in the price range of what this video is describing, I wasn't making a bad comment, just a true comment. I have invited many people to attend the shoots, and allowed many people to use my equipment, they like it, they enjoy it, but the price of getting involved into it is fairly out of range for most folks, that's all I was saying.

    • @ironduke2660
      @ironduke2660 Před 4 měsíci

      @@MillisConstruction I agree, My equipment is quite old, but still allows me to compete, fortunately when i bought my old Winchester mod 52 heavy bbl. the price was like 300 bucks, back in a day when 300 bucks was a lot of money. topped with a decent scope, for like 300ish, the rifle will do just fine.
      Today its way out of range for the average guy, that's all I'm saying, I'm not criticizing anyone.
