A friends son took his life for three weeks ago because of being bullied.
He was only 14 years old.

I'm so sad to read this. Hope the kids (and their parents) that bullied him realises what impact their behaviour can lead to. Parents really should be good rolemodels - it seems that many in todays society need to work with themselves. Also internet-trolling, which kids see and hear have impact on their behaviour. I wish your friends' son rests in peace, and that his family have good people around them for support.

Such a pity this song didn't get more points. And I'm not saying this out of pity, but because I really liked it. It's especially sad because so many people hated him just because their favourite wasn't selected so now they'll just say we told you so. Well, at least I know I'll remember him and this song while the rest will mean nothing to me. So he did what he came here to do because I got his message. And he is perhaps the only man who seemed to have something soo charming about him in the interview I watched.
Yeah, let's underline it: not out of pity. His story obviously adds to the song and performance, but only because it gives you the context (and I personally love to get more information about how a song came to be) and helps you better understand why he does certain things (like wearing sunglasses, it's something I generally hate but here it is obviously comprehensible). The song was good in the first place, everything else just makes it even more well-rounded (proof is, that picky listener that is my dad only "saved" this one out of the 40 entries).
Also, he is indeed charming is some inexplicable way. You can see he's a sensitive one, I guess...

Honestly he deserved to be the winner or at least in the top ten, but I’m so happy he was on Eurovision. Because his music is actually helping me with my Tourettes right now and Andreas is just making me feel more better about my Tourettes. But it is a huge shame people are hating on Tix because their favourite wasn’t selected to represent Norway, it’s just wrong. I think he’s so awesome and honestly I love him.

I work in the UK for an anti-bullying charity teaching children to be respectful, tolerant and kind to all no matter who they are. Thanks Tix for addressing this very important issue to a worldwide audience through your music the song is so brilliant!
I think it would be great to watch this video at school as a trigger for discussion about the respect to each other. And kids could think to which group they belong.

I am so sad it didn't get more points than it should have. This song is amazing. It makes me emotional every single time I hear it. It touches on very important subjects that are wrong in this world - too little compassion, understanding, love, kindness, empathy. I can relate to some of the things he sang about and it makes me so sad that he is not recognized. The idea of music is to make you feel things. A great artist is someone that makes the audience feel whatever the song is about. This song did it all. It was my favourite song this year and I will keep listening to it even after. I think his message should be taken seriously. No to bullying, no to abuse, no to being heartless. Thank you, Andreas, for sharing your passion with us. I have humongous respect for you. You are a beautiful person, I hope one day you will see and believe it, too.

Same💖 The video literally made me cry because this topic is so important and it's finally something I can relate to.
It's been four months since the contest is over but I still keep coming here. I just think the attitude of Eurofans and the results of this year's contest were just beyond unfair when it comes to Tix. This is such a meaningful song with a music video that has a strong story. The way Tix opens his weakness to us is just nothing but pure sincerity. I literally can feel all those lyrics and the music video in my heart deeply. And I'm not even talking about how much I admire the fact that he turned his weakness into his power, his stage name. It breaks my heart so bad when these kinda sincere, meaningful masterpieces and people like Tix don't get the appreciation they deserve. Let alone appreciating his art, people literally bullied him because he made it to the final. They even gave the Barbara Dex award to Tix. I think Europe was literally so mean towards him while all he was trying to do was only be himself, in the most sincere way possible and to show people that it's okay to be you so he deserved a lot better, people just failed to understand him. He has a golden heart and a career full of meaningful and inspirational stories, he is a gem for us all. Yall, the people that can understand his art, we're just so lucky 🤍

For some reason, this song just pulls at me. Between the melody, the words and TIX's voice... it's one of the best songs from Eurovision ever... it should have won.
I can΄t possibly imagine what kind of people would dislike this song. They even declared it, choosing thumbs down. Despite the obvious talent of the artist and the constant quality of his work. This is what people with Tourette or any kind of difference have to face. Friendship, acceptance, empowerment keep the door to life open for all people, especially when dealing with their own "demons". We should always remember that and make our move for a better world for everyone. Costs nothing and makes our hearts stronger.

I have tics and this Music video really broke my heart but at the same time made me happy because I can relate so much with the bullying stuff. But at the end everyone loves him now and his music. I’m happy for him. I know it’s tough to grow up with tics.

It took me about two months to grow to love this song.
I was originally very salty that he got to go to the ESC instead of Keiino, but I can't deny that Tix is a wonderful person and the song is perfect.

Norway should have gotten way more points than they did last night. Tix deserved to win with this song. It’s deep and meaningful and way more relatable than a load of the other songs that were in the competition. The video made me cry. I love Tix and, not saying he has to, but part of me hopes he makes more songs in English.
I dont think the presenters for all countries explained to the viewers the reason why he had sunglasses, headband and what the song was about....in his case that was so important. People who watched and voted probably only focused on him in his costume and sunglasses and thought he looked silly, instead of listening to the message and see the relevance with the staging (which they probably would do if they knew the reason why he is dressed that way). That annoys me a bit. Its their job to inform the viewers (they always do that on the Norwegian broadcast). Some juries probably didnt bother to check what the song was about and the story behind either. They were probably just as shallow...

@@In_my_own_mind Someone I know was like that, he was like “the song was trash” and when I tried to explain the meaning behind the song and how it meant so much to me becuase Andreas has Tourettes and so do I, they didn’t want to hear it. Proceeding to say meanings of songs don’t matter, which is so not true. Like he just didn’t bother to understand, however I’m pretty sure the British commentator of Eurovision mentioned that Andreas (Tix) has Tourettes but then went on to joke about how people should close their eyes for his performance.. which I thought was really rude.

The Uk commentators always tries to be funny on other peoples behalf. Surely he hadnt read up on Tix cause he wouldnt have mocked him if he knew the backstory (I would hope). It wasnt only because he has Touretts it was important tô explain. If he didnt follow up by saying' he use sunglasses to hide his tics and also he could’ve explained that Tix is just a character he made after being bullied as a child and that the character is supposed to be flashy and over the top completely opposite of what Andreas is. And he should’ve definately explained that the staging was related to the song and was about his inner dark thoughts and demons trying to hold him back. That he was fighting those demons (while being chained). That the song was about mental issues and to not feel good enough. No wonder he got so few televotes when even the commentator makes fun of him. I was afraid of that and it makes me angry. I wonder if he makes fun of people looking. different in real life too... Lots of insecure kids are watching and those are especially the ones Tix wanted to reàch out to by showing them nobody is perfect, but that makes them valuable..and that they can turn their weakness into their greatest strength. The commentator ruined that. When he knew the performance had a serious messàge it was so inappropriate to make fun of him. Thats low.

Man, this hits so fucking deep. I feel really identified with him in the video. It is the exact representation of my childhood and young adolescent age with Tourette's and dealing with bullying in schools and any social environment. Man it was fucking hard, but now that I can see the struggle in retrospective, I am glad of all the strength, effort and pain i went through during those hard years because they made me who I am now and, let me tell you, I am so incredibly happy and whole . Damn, I'm brought to tears. I found TIX on spotify who knows how - I think I was meant to find him - and now I am in love with all of his music and also learning Norwegian language with his songs. Andreas, you are an incredible musician and I am sure you are such a cool guy and bright person. I hope to meet you one day. Keep doing your music and being yourself, you inspire a fucking lot. What a beautiful story and you really should be proud of yourself. Its not easy going through that when you are young, but you never know how strong you are until being strong is the only option. Tix is a great role model for anyone, and nice to hear you learn Norwegian because of him. 😊
Hearing the song alone is a gift, but when you have tourettes aswell (i do too) the music video hits so much more than it should and just makes me love him even more. he is such a good artist and it doesnt matter about ESC as we all truely know where he lives within us

I keep hearing hate comments about Tix and this song on Eurovision and it's irritating! This song may or may not be strong enough for international singing competition, but "Fallen Angel" is a story to be told for its inspiring message. And TIX not only represents Norway, but a lot of people who are fighting silent battles on their own. It is not easy, unless you have been there. Pretty sure that those who will vote for Tix felt and understood the message he is trying to convey. Win or lose, this man is an inspiration!

As a person who is also suffering from bulliing, I have so much respect to your song. Turning a bad fate into power while speaking up in the public and making a music career, is really inspiring and is a sign of real mental strength. I love all the details in the lyrics/video for example the metaphor of the "fallen angel" (A strong person, wich is beaten down by bulliers(the demons). I think this person song/music video could give a lot of bullied people new strength, because they can see, that they can speak up. So thank you for this song.

In the end of the video TIX morph into a swan (standing on the piano and feathers flying through the air). If you look closely at the end of the video (3:36) you can see two swans fly in the sky. Remember what he said after he won MGP «I have for a very long time felt like the ugly duckling, both in the music industry and through growing up. And it turns out that one day the ugly duckling becomes a swan. And I hope all of you ugly ducklings back home understand that one day everyone will see you as swans» ❤️

@Onedev It wasnt something I made up...it was one of the Eurovision channels who had an interview with him and wrote it. This is what they wrote:
«His now iconic glasses and headband are used as armour to shield him from the anxiety and stress of it all. Eventually we see him morph into the swan, standing on a piano with his signature white coat and feathers flying through the air.» Thats when I was made aware iof it and realized the way he stood on the piano resemblance a swan.
From Denmark; the song is not me at all - but it took me all of 2 mins to fall in love with him. The emotion on his face told me all about his journey and it moved me to tears. And then he removed his glasses too at the end - that frailty is so pure and beautiful. ❤

I've never watched ESC. This year around April month I got a look to the contestants and their videos. This one wasn't available. There was only one kind of live, but this became one of my favorite from the very beginning. I'm really grateful I've found this masterpiece. It entered in my heart and in my Spotify daily playlist. I was bullied from the ages of 12 to 14. Nothing anyone ever told me really helped or made the bullying stop, but when I was no longer in school with those kids the bullying did stop. It was not forever. It's hard, but remember that when someone picks on others, it's often because they feel threatened by your strengths and talents.

honestly i really like living in norway but the my classmates/all the other students are just really uneducated, they would say slurs and even make fun of me for having literally the same interests as them. apparently some of my classmates have talked bad things behind my back and at this point i dont really care anymore.
but other than that i think the country is really nice.
@@pokie9919 Sorry to hear about that. No one should go through that. Sadly this happens everywhere (not just in your school or Norway). Children should be educated from a young age and forced to listen to someone who has been bullied talk about how that affected them. They should also show this video for educational purposes. It needs to start from early age.

This song is one of very few that I still listen on regular years after ESC. It still sounds beautifully and sad, brings me to tears but also gives hope. Neither of Eurovision winners stayed with me as long and as close as Tix. I wish it got a higher result so that more people would be aware of existence of that song. Tusen takk Tix.
