Good one. Though, I doubt the Nova would have been able to go up against the Hirogen. VOY had trouble with the Hirogen when they first encountered them with Monotanium hull plating scattering their targeting scanners. The crew had time (after Killing Game) to study this and counter it, plus the ship was enhanced by One Borg drone subsequently, and also received tactical updates from starfleet... so by the time the crew encountered the Hirogen in S7, they were far better equipped to fight the Hirogen... but I don't know if the Nova on its own and what Ransom and his crew went through would be enough to counter them.
@@adamlee2111 As I said, VOY had issues mainly with monotanium scattering their targeting scanners when first encountering the Hirogen - this is what put VOY at a disadvantage and would have done the same to the Nova. In Season 7, the ship was more than a match for 2 predator class Hirogen ships and disabled them very easily because the crew had ample time in finding a workaround for the scattering effect of the Monotanium hull (and finding its weaknesses), coupled with all the upgrades. The Nova wouldn't be in the same position. If the scattering effect wasn't an issue for the Nova class, it MIGHT be able to barely take on 1 Hirogen ship, but otherwise, no.
The Nova class is a ship I have a major soft spot for. Its a plucky little ship that can hit above its weight. Also, to me the Nova class looks like Sov and an Intrepid had a baby, its a nice blend of design choices. By far my favourite era of Starfleet designs 2370s ships are my jam.
That took way too long, Starfleet. Too many torpedoes. What would you do if you didn't have all of those photons to make the job easier? Better patrol these stars in packs of three, Starfleet. Your little ships have to work too hard on their own.
WELL look at you! Getting all murdery like Captain Ransom! Didn't even have to kills some flute playing alien to do it! Right on!
Wow I thought that the Hirogen vessel would easily obliterate Nova 😮. Tough little ship

It could probably take on one with heavy, Voyager was outmatched against 3 but I doubt it would struggle 1v1

I agree it seems like it was a mini Sovereign to me in feel
Agreed, its grown on me a lot recently
The Nova is the runt of the litter!
I know it's a small little ship but it seems to me it should still have an aft launcher
The thing turns so fast it really doesn't need one.
It had one in the show.
