@@Joseph-cg9hm My favorite music video off Undertow was Prison Sex. I found that one really disturbing. That is if you know what the song's lyrics are about.
As someone who went to school for animation and was acquainted with some stop-motion students.... only an animator could make this type of film. A very "Inside Sports" type of filmmaking.
This movie actually achieved an impact on me. Might be the first horror movie to do that. Im not saying the story itself or the ending is good, but the movie sure did something that I will remember. Loved the visuals too.
This was made by Robert Morgan, the same guy who made The Cat With Hands, Bobby Yeah, and Tomorrow I Will Be Dirt. If it wasn't weird and fucked up, I would be very disappointed.
I love looking at a large list of reviews on movies/games/ etc... When someone praises it, they suddenly become professional critics writing long articles on why it is good. When the reviewer hates the movie they just pop in with one star and say 'its bad' if they say anything at all.
I don't know about anybody else, but stop-motion has ALWAYS given me a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach. I don't even know why. I've seen movies like The Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline, The Corpse Bride, Chicken Run, and ParaNorman multiple times, and a few years back I watched Box-Trolls for the first time, so it's not even that I AVOID watching stop-motion. But something about it just always feels...off. In fact, listening to him talk about how it sort of exists around uncanny valley, may have been the first time I understood that this could be the reason it makes me vaguely uncomfortable.
You might get a creeped-out kick from the classic works of, Brother Quay. I studied cinema back in the day, and am embarrassed to admit that I don't remember other notable works of stop-motion. But it's in a similar vein:)
Kind off odd you only associate stop motion with the likes of Bob the builder! You should watch The Shivering Truth (2018). Stopmotions director Robert Morgan also has a great body of stop motion work going back 30 years. Worth checking out the work of Jan Švankmajer and the Bros Quay. My personal favourite stop motion feature film is The Secret Adventures of Tom Thumb (1993) Phil Tippett's Mad God is pretty good also.
uncanny valley and subtlety will always make a better horror experience then random jumpscares in my eyes. its nice to see its an artform not lost to the, how did that guy put it once? "Mr. Beastification" of modern entertainment was it? i'm sure someone out there gets what i mean. the comments about review sites being two extremes is also very apt. 90% of people only ever vote the worst or the best with no inbetween. usually a lot of that isn't helped with the prevalence of copy-paste reviews (and, quite honestly, some script kiddies that use them) at the same time. things like this deserve their chance in that light! gotta save what good we have and try to correct course before its too late! after all, as horror fans we all don't want some kind of reboot of Saw or Dawn of the Dead with modern day wider audience/global market ESG nonsense do we?
I'm a 90s kid this is giving me "Tool" flashbacks!! Those videos were so bizarre!
Fibanocci sequence !!!!
I know the pieces fit, cause I watched them fall appart!
Apparently TOOL copied the Brothers Quay for the stop-motion animation styling of what we see in the Sober video .
4 hours of Darude Sandstorm sounds like my kind of jam
This is the movie us Tool fans be dying for😂
Yes! the dolls look like something from an Undertow music video
I'm a 90s kid so I remember those Tool videos very well. Creepy 😬
Adam Jones was into special FX and did most of those stop motion animations for the Undertow videos.

You give very constructive criticism, makes me want to see the movie just to see how I think about it. Definitely subscribing

Really love your videos!
keep up the great work my friend ☺️
Thanks from England
If the band "Tool" made a horror film
This movie actually achieved an impact on me. Might be the first horror movie to do that. Im not saying the story itself or the ending is good, but the movie sure did something that I will remember. Loved the visuals too.
Watch basically any tool music video or watch the brothers quay.
You may want to read the book Ant Kind. Ant Kind, written by Charlie Kaufman, is about a stop animation film that has a run time of 90 days.
Reminds me of late night art short films on pbs. Unsettling ,upsetting , but extremely effective.
Is this a documentary about Mad God?
I was gonna say, if you think this is weird you need to see Mad God
@@chrisfaessen1417 😂
That movie is really good to watch on DXM

3:17 new bob the builder is scarier than any horror movie I've seen
Is this from the guy who made Bobby Yeah? The stop-motion and the puppet design have a very similar style to it.
yes! robert morgan is the artist behind both
Haven't seen it yet but all that stop motion and it's characters is like one long TOOL video. And that's a beautiful thing. I hope that it is.
Do you ever watch/review any hammer horror films?
I'd really love to see your take on some of the older Christopher lee and Peter Cushing horrors.

Watch ‘Mad God’ that my friend is the Apex of weird Stopmotion.

Then you will absolutely adore Jan Svankmajers 1988 adaptation of Alice 😬 1hr 26 minutes of sheer brilliance 🤪
Uncanny valley
Omg. You're a good-looking ginger? I was not expecting that lol
Love your videos 📹 ❤️
Michael Fassbender, cameron Monaghan, Jake Austin walker 🤷🏾♂️
you are stunning yourself bethany 🥰🥰😘
This definitely has to be from the same person who had the stop motion sequence in ABC’s of Death
do you recommend it? comes out next wknd to stream
I really enjoyed this film a lot. A really unique horror film.
I watched this last night. So creepy and unsettling. The ash man was chilling.

Have you seen a movie called La Casa Lobo ?
not yet... just looked it up and it looks pretty wild
I remember watching that film while really stoned, I couldn't tell if it was me or the movie that was insane lol
I really recommend the stop motion film “Mad God” if you haven’t seen it!
You said your neighbrs were blasting darude sandstorm and i had to pasue to look at the date on your video oh my god

Looks like a film heavily inspired by Phil Tippett's Mad God.
Tool did this in a video. Creepy
It looks like a Fetus in Fetu.
I want to know about the people who write "This is the worst movie ever". What kind of people they are? Lol
just saw it last nite and i actually liked it alot 🤷♂️
love this guy
I like doll movies. Creepy.
Hell ye brother
How to beat saw x ?
where can I watch this movie?
Was up
It would be awesome to see you review stranger things (unless you already have)
Uncanny Valley is the term you're defining at the 00:03:00 mark bruh...
Sort of reminds me of the stop motion work on that ABC's of death short I think.
Just commented this before seeing your comment. It definitely has to be the same person
Using meat as a material for stop motion is actual a real thing. Look up Jan Svankmajer
Lego movies is far more scarier
Check out Mad God. Take a couple mushrooms an hour before the movie starts lol
Thanks for the spoiler.
