If you wanna cover a fucked up fate in a video game, you could cover the WARP Train from Library of Ruina. If you're not into RPGs or card battlers I wouldn't recommend checking it out yourself, but the cutscenes cover a good enough story. Covering the Molar Office, Love Town, and WARP Cleanup Crew chapters of the game, it tells the tale of a transportation company called W Corp that sells train tickets for trains that promise to get you to anywhere in the City (which is a bit over a hundred miles end to end) in just ten seconds, and this claim is... actually true! If your train leaves at 10:15, you will arrive at the other station at 10:15.
The problem is that there's a catch. The Train does this by zapping itself out of reality and taking a detour through spacetime, a detour that takes roughly two thousand years for the passengers inside. For these two thousand years, you don't need to eat, or drink, or sleep, and your body can't "separate" from itself. You couldn't spit or bleed if you wanted to, your hair won't even fall out. You are frozen in time, but you can still move, and you can still feel pain. Everyone on the train is driven mad by the trial of time, and what happens to them through the madness must be seen to be believed.
To make matters worse? Once the train stops, you forget it ever happened. You remember a pleasant, ten second voyage, and will probably take the same train back home.
