I loved the fact that Logan didn't wake up in time to solve his trap, I always found it weird in the series that Jigsaw seemed to know down to the minute when a drugged person would wake up.

@@msp720 I think you need to just take the movie for what it is. I don’t know if you realised that it’s not a true story and every single little detail doesn’t have to be scrutinised. Even if you have to it does make a bit of sense. Considering the trap plot in this movie was actually based before the first saw movie, it seems realistic that Kramer hasn’t yet perfected the art and that he’s only just getting started. Therefore I personally don’t feel like it’s lazy writing it’s just you don’t have to necessarily pick apart every single detail of the movie.

Mitches trap honestly was the best example of how teamwork can help you, but he was 99% in the clear had he not gotten excited and started celebrating. Had enough time to reach in and pull the brake. Even if the trap started again, it likely wouldve stopped just as soon

The acid in the third syringe can not dissolve iron or steel. Even if it was a stronger acid, you would have to soak the steel for several minutes to an hour in order to weaken it enough to break. And, as Hitstart points out earlier on in the video, the four victims are being observed, meaning that if the one observing the trap sees them trying to cheat, he can just knock them back out and put them into a new trap.

While there are two solid pieces of key left, they are far too warped to work on such a good quality lock (we all know Kramer doesn't cut corners). He would have a better chance at getting himself out by tearing off a section of the shell casing, and using it to try and shim the padlock

@@faithgreen9115 Kerry's death was supposed to be a breadcrumb to either A) Jigsaw is a liar about only testing people that need to prove themselves, or B) Jigsaw isn't the only one making the traps. And it was revealed later that "B" was the answer. Kerry's trap was completely unwinnable; she did what she was supposed to but it didn't actually work. Obviously, her trap was meant to be an execution and nothing more. That's why the "explanation" for her being "tested" didn't make sense. It was just Amanda/Hoffman getting her out of the way... Not Jigsaw genuinely testing her. Jigsaw explicitly stated his disapproval of this.

Y’know a couple gears here and there exposed, and as an opportunist I took the opportunity
There’s one flaw in your plan for the silo. You said they should haveto the edges. But by the time the debris started falling, the amount of grain in silo would have prevented them being able to move. They would have had to move to the edge basically the moment they hit the floor.
I was hoping someone mentioned this. The grain is way too heavy on them, there is no way for them to move.
meh, sort of. They should have been staying on top of the grain to begin with and moved away from where it was falling instinctually. All they would have had to do to stay on top of things was march in place standing near the edge of the wall. It's grain not quicksand. every time they would lift one of their feet all the grain would slide under then they could put their foot back down then raise the other. Basically doesn't even matter how full it gets then.
I think the main reason they don't do these things you suggest is stress.
The parts of our brain responsible for rational/logical thinking basically shut down when you're under pressure, so they probably just weren't in the right state of mind to do anything but follow the instructions

The first saw
Jigsaw was always a pretentious sadist and many of his victims were innocent. Even in the first Saw movie. He risked Dr. Gordon's daughter's life by making her part of Zepp's game.

Well an explanation for that is he doesn't always have access to murderers, kidnappers, or human traffickers. A lot of the victims are people he has known or in some way encountered in person, which makes sense because he kinda needs to physically kidnap them. Furthermore, he tends to go after those who aren't technically doing anything illegal, though still immoral in his eyes, because they won't naturally be punished by law, so his kind of justice is the only way to hold them responsible for the unethical things that they've done.
With all of that laid out, it actually makes a ton of sense to not have a lot of murderers, kidnappers, or human traffickers because either A) he doesn't have access to them, or B) the law will take care of them by default, so there's no need or point for him to go through the trouble and risk of taking them out himself.

From a logic perspective, this one probably bugged me the most. There were two traps that revolved around a certain person. What would happen if one of those people died during the first trap? What if Mitch had died first and wasn't able to grab the tape recorder to stop the chain from being pulled? What if Ryan's leg never fell into the trap, resulting in him never being there to free the others?
And what if they had simply broken the easily breakable wooden planks that make up the walls of the barn? As soon as they're free from the chain they're out, unless they're total idiots with zero awareness of their surroundings

In that situation all I'd be thinking about is an exit and not through the next door as so far through doors are traps awaiting.

Fun thing, about these videos, many of the "solutions" involve seeing the full trap that is at times hidden from view. And even if they didn't show a camera in every shot, doesn't mean there wasn't one, so that cheaters wouldn't be punished
I don't even understand the cheating aspect. if they can get out of it without hurting themselves good for them, there are no shortages of traps that he doesn't explain at all and the person has to come to a realization about the intention...for example the very first trap in the series. he doesn't explain that they need to cut their feet off to get out. They have to realize that the hacksaw won't cut the chain before they understand what it is for.
I would think he would be impressed by their resourcefulness and intelligence. Hell most of these traps don't even seem to be monitored at all and on top of that many of them have included solutions that wouldn't have injured the victim at all. Again referencing the first trap. he put the key in the tub...if dude had panic'd the second he woke up and accidentally knocked it out onto the floor...whole movie solved with no injuries.
This was such a fun series to binge. I’m really glad you also went over the general story in each film too

I posted the same. As a welder I actually build containers to hold acid. Acid eats flesh, yes. Metal, actually salt and water and oxygen and heat are faster than acid.
You could also just put it on your flesh or clothing, I'm sure it would hurt like hell, but a tiny drop wouldn't cause lasting damage. Then just inject the two without acid into her.

@@showtimeman17 It actually is Cramer the whole time we see these character as they are. It hapenned 10 years ago. The bucket guy who did not wake up is the vilain in this movie so when they were there it was John´s game. John even did a mistake which prevented him waking up in time so he went back in that trap and saved him from his demise and took him as his first apprentice.

The silo trap: There is a ladder on the inside wall of the silo - clearly visible in the first shot
The motorcycletrap: Mitch is a mechanic, and should know at least a dozen ways to kill the engine. Especially on a motorcycle where the engine is exposed. Even if he couldnt reach the bike, he could easily instruct the girl how to turn of the engine. Rip fuellines, ignitioncables, throttlecable,, unscrew ignitioncoil, drown engine, cut fuel supply jam rod in the chaingears insted of the wheel etc. All they really have to do is make a running petrol engine stall.
Ps. i love this series and just watched all 7 of them :) really cool and interesting stuff

I remember my brain completely tapping out at the grain silo scene. I just kept thinking about different scenarios and how they would've played out. The odds of the victims doing exactly what Jigsaw planned is so slim, it's laughable.

I think the last trap was the easiest. But I also know to take everything John says literally. As soon as he said what the key was I realized it was in the shells

Grain bins are super dangerous because once you're buried, you can't move and suffocate. I'm not sure about how silos work, but if they work in the same way, those two are lucky it stopped at their chest, but they still can't move.

I loved the Saw movies. However it’s hard to ignore exactly how he (Jigsaw) knew every details of his patients lives that only they would know.
Many of them he had personal connections to, or they had connections to the apprentice who was copycatting. Beyond that it wouldn't really take much if he had access to something like police records to find out most of the stuff he knew. A little private investigation after picking the targets could give him more info.
the fact is people aren't very good at keeping secrets about criminal activity in real life. Often the police solve crimes simply because one inmate told another inmate. I prefer to explain those plot wrinkles as him having ton's of time and money as well as being much smarter than the average person.
The thing that I really didn't understand about this movie is, are we really supposed to believe that the people that died in the current time died the same exact way as the the people from the past? And also how did John know exactly how people were going to act in the first trap? What if the guy never pulled the tape from the Billy puppet while the chains were pulling them? What would have happened? What would've happened if the guy wouldn't have been an idiot and gotten his leg caught in the trap?
I already asked myself those questions while seeing the movie in theater ;)
Not a single minute of this movie makes sense
More importantly, how would the traps be symbolic to both groups of people, and relate to the same offenses. The motorcycle trap would be very out of place if anyone else did it.

Well it’s super easy
If all the ppl died in the “saw” room then the game in the present could be made that only room on the game is the saw room or all the potential deaths are via saws.
Then the guy that loses a leg is easy, if the intended body in the present died and didn’t lose a leg well just...chop it off same way it was in the past he’s already dead so no problem there.
Logan new how the first game ended up so he just need to recreate the corpses not the traps.

That'd only eliminate 33% of the issue. The hydrochloric acid would burn the floor, but the saline solution and antidote would react the same way. They'd've still required thief girl to recognize the numbers.

When I watched it with my sister we both couldn't stop laughing at the guy's face while he was swinging the needles around.
The most annoying part of this trap for me is she DOES recognize the numbers... she knows which one to take and she just DOESN’T...

There's a new Saw movie coming out, and personally, I'd love if they just simply made another series based on the same universe.
We already have Logan as a main Jigsaw killer, which could set up its own series of traps and movies or even a show.
We also have Dr. Gordon as the main survivor of the John Kramer saga, and we could have Logan and Gordon either team up or fight eachother, either by trying to catch each other via games, or they could incidentally catch themselves and put into a game which they have to survive in order to proove who's the real Jigsaw.
We also have whatever will happen in the new movie, which could spark another killer in some other city and it could or could not connect to the Kramer saga or just be inspired by it.

there technically is no way to beat final destination. Death is inevitable and death will keep trying to kill you even if you dodge death
It was originally planned for the first dude to find a way to beat Death’s curse and survive, but the actor refused, so he got killed offscreen.
@@s_solus3089 There's only been one foolproof canonical way to beat death in the series and that's for someone on the list to die and than come back to life. (Drowning, being electrocuted etc)

5:55 you can also beat this trap by dripping a bit of all of the syringes onto anything and seeing which one burns, then use the other two as one is an antidote and the other is harmless (this is if she doesn’t confess)

The traps rely so much on precise placement. And also the individual trap tests per person is pretty stupid too, like how does he know if that certain person didn't die earlier than expected. For example what if Carly died in the buzz trap in the beginning? Then what will happen.

Is it just me or were the traps here much easier to cheese than in the previous films
tbh i thought the traps weren't too bad until the leg thing. get a small cut and easily find an antidote for poison? pretty tame compared to some of the other traps in this franchise.
@@honeycomb937 You can forget about the leg thing and everything after that entirely. The barn is clearly outside as indicated by the light shining through the wooden planks and they could have simply broken said planks and got out without a scratch
