- Happy New Year House Lovers and Explorers! :-)
Thought I would kick off the year with a marathon episode! This video I show you through 10 dwelling that were victims of an intersection upgrade and Adelaide folk will know where this is as it is now the new section at Daws/Goodwood and Springbank roads.
About 18 months ago I filmed the grand old blue stone villa and Peter Van the Party man party supplies buildings over the other side of Goodwood road and then these home no too long after.

Some homes were vacated later than others and I film then over a 3 week span as the residence all vacate.
The homes are mainly from the late 50`s and 60`s with some having many things left behind and some have had heavy remodeling and renovations. Lots to look at still though guys.
The intersection is now complete and traffic now drives relentlessly through where the homes used to sit and many family memories were once made.
Anyway join me on this good old snoop around the neighborhood :-)

Rule of thumb; if the wallpaper is ugly and it’s full of amber glass, it’s 70s. 😊 You have taught me so much about old homes that I’m now calling the original age on the houses before you do. Be proud! ❤

My daughter is homeless with a baby and a small boy. Her partner decided to throw them out on the streets nasty piece of work. I see so many of these beautiful homes thanks to Paul. Even the old farm houses my daughter says maybe I can move in with the boys and fix the house up. Very sad indeed. Thank you Paul 🙏

Well that was a marathon with a lot off mess and ehr mash, some nice features here and there, but sadly gone,, have a great safe and healthy 2022.

Some very cool homes, needlessly wasted. Some of the floors are amazing! I wish they would at least salvage the decent stuff out of them. It’s so good that you can document them before they go

So many houses that you have shown us in 2021 ..Out of all these houses that had been demolished it was the first one that you could not show as it had been demolished ,it was the blue stone villa .Loved that house ..All the rest had been insipid ..

Sad to see all these '60's +/- homes and the gorgeous plant life go in the name of progress. I was glad to see that quite a bit of salvage going on, you don't often see that in the US. I would love to have some of those hardwood floors in my house from the 50's. Happy New Year and happy exploring.

Hi Paul I just found your channel a couple of days ago and I am very impressed with the filming and Narration. It's very sad for those families that get told they have to leave and find something else I feel for them. Hello Paul and a Happy New Year to you, did you enjoy you trip to Victoria? Well what an awesome start to 2022 you must have spent hours editing this video. The first three houses had nothing to get excited about but the house that was like maze. It looked like a furnished share house and they only took their belongs when they moved out. The last unit looked like and elderly person who didn't have any help to maintain their home and then it was ransacked. I'm so looking forward to what you have installed for us all in 2022 Thanks for all the interesting places we explored with you in 2021 Thanks again Paul Anne Hardy

I notice here in New Zealand farm land being brought up to make way for development of modern homes. Thank you Paul :)
it makes me sad to see these beautiful well built homes get demolished and when you think about it how can anybody these days rely. on a good builder to build proper homes in their place if anybody is watching this please buy a old home they were made a lot better back in the day they may just need a lick of paint and some things changed

What puzzles me is leaving that marvelous Neil Diamond display. Not quite as easy to replace. So may homes destroyed for what? To put in more lanes, cut out a corner, more parking?

I liked the first house! The gardens and fiddle leaf tree was beautiful. Shame they don’t keep them instead of knocking them down! Poor birds what will happen to them with all the trees being cut down! What a shame! It’s happening here too! Then they wonder why wildlife is running through their properties!

The way it looks, there won't be any more homes and less people in Adelaide if they keep demolishing them.
Happy 2022! Geez.... it seems absurd that this kind of thing is allowed to happen. Do the local authorities compensate the home owners? Surely they would have to be offered full value of the homes to get them moved on (if the people owned the properties). And the trees.... all this just for a flat piece of road.... it's a sin!
It doesn't seem to happen too often here (in the U.K.) at the moment (at least I don't think so) but it happened in the past for re-development of ares of cities where the council would compulsory purchase homes from people so they could demolish the homes and turn them into whatever it was.
A couple of those older houses were lovely. Is this what they call progress? 😟 Thanks for your great video coverage and info Paul.

That big house in the middle looks like they were forced out very short notice and took literally what they could fit in their car. All the furniture and beds all left is strange.
I noticed the cutouts in the floors in a number of the rooms in these houses; I assume for assessment of some sort. If so, what DO they assess by doing that?

If your in Shitney Sydney where Im from they'll house you in a modern shoebox apartment in a highly urbanized area and most idiots are happy with that..sadly .
