New Strut & Spring Assembly from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1ASTS01361
This video shows you how to install new reliable TRQ struts in your 2011-2017 Honda Odyssey. TRQ Struts are made to fit your vehicle exactly, just like the original part. Struts can wear out as early as 50,000 miles. You should inspect them regularly for leaks or wear. Save time, money, and hassle by replacing an entire strut assembly.

    2011 Honda Odyssey
    2012 Honda Odyssey
    2013 Honda Odyssey
    2014 Honda Odyssey
    2015 Honda Odyssey

I just replaced the front strut assemblies on my 2011 Odyssey (79k mi) this morning. My shop quoted me $1130 for this job. I spent about $182 on struts and saved myself over $900. It took me about 4 1/2 hrs to complete and trying to get the new struts into place was by far the hardest part of this job. I don't see how one person could install the new strut while holding the knuckle in place so the axle doesn't come out of the trans. Thanks for your vid. (07/06/23)

This was super helpful for our Odyssey. The only part that tripped me up was needing to spin the studs so the pattern matched the holes in the van. I was afraid to do it until I re-watched that part a thousand times. 😊

Tip: If your sway bar link nut/bolt is corroded like mine and it's spinning too, soak it with some industrial strength Bust-a-Nut. Then use BOTH an allen key on the front and vice grips on the back. Set them both so they rest against a solid surface at the same time as you apply torque with a box wrench. Just using vice grips can slip and just using the allen key may strip it out. Use both just to be sure you don't invite murphy's law into play.

Most thorough and helpful tutorial. Thanks for providing this valuable resource. Is there a torque spec for the final bolt on the brake hose?

This is a great video. 2 comments though. The bolt pattern at the top of the struts is not symmetrical, so you have to make sure they match the holes. He mentions it, but I missed it. Also, this job is a lot easier if you combine it with pads and rotors replacement.

Great tutorial. I successfully installed them. I still have a clicking/popping noise when I turn at slow speeds. Does the TRQ strut require the SHIN ETSU lubricant??

Of course the hardest part of this is that 90% of the time, the swaybar links will not come off and some don't ahve a way to hold onto the back. I've cut off several now. Bad design as the allen always strips. I also think I would remove the plastic cover on top before you jack it up as well:) But excellent video.

Can you please tell me the correct torque spec for the pinch bolts on these struts? I just installed a pair on our 2012 Honda Odyssey, and one of the pinch bolts was too loose which led to a metallic pinging noise while driving. I tightened up the pinch bolt but I would like to know what the correct torque spec is for them please.

When you have the wiper cover off, can you change the other strut too? Is the process the same on both sides? Figured with 200,000+ miles, the second one isn’t too far behind the one making noise.

My top away bar link is not flush like yours. There is up and down tension and the bolt comes through pointing downward. It does not just slip out.
