Im so gonna be making brittle ALOT soon. Ive been craving this stuff for years, and nobody sells it where i am. After watching MANY recipes, theyre pretty similar and it really is easy. I used to make candy as a 9 year old kid. For those who say "making candy is soooo hard", it isnt really. Just dont turn your back on it. Thats the most important part. You cant come back from burnt caramel base. But seriously, pretty much the same base for this and caramel are the same. If you can make one, you can make the other. Rhe only difference is the corn syrup. None needed for caramel

I came to YT in search for the “Pentecostal Peanut Brittle” in the big thin round patties and I’m so happy to have found you! I bought I don’t know how many of these (for myself and gifts for $1) from a upc church in Tyler back in early 2000’s and it’s the BEST out there imo! My mother and grandmother were phenomenal bakers of pies, cakes and Christmas candies, but when it comes to peanut brittle the Pentecostals are the winners! You can’t beat the big thin round patties! Thank you so much for doing this video! After watching and rewatching, I’m going to give this a try!

Linda, I thoroughly enjoyed this video! I love how you give all the details and show us exactly what you’re doing. Some peanut brittles are so hard to chew. Does the baking soda in your recipe make the brittle more porous so it is easier to chew?
Thank you so much for sharing!❤

That is exactly what does it combined with using raw peanuts. It’s not the same if you use precooked peanuts. The raw peanuts release an acid and when the baking soda hits it it forms carbon dioxide bubbles. Good peanut brittle will make you burp if you eat enough and it is almost the like a tingly burp from soda. Not as strong but definitely there.

I make many batches of peanut brittle every year for Christmas. Very close to your recipe. Including a full pound of peanuts which comes out to 3 cups. It’s been handed down through generations. I never use a thermometer either. But what made me comment… As soon as you started your chocolate milk story I guessed what happened. When I was a kid in the 80’s we took a trip to Tennessee to visit my grandparents and go to Pigeon Forge in a big van and we had yoo-hoo in the glass bottle. My aunt was driving and requested a drink and my mom got it out for her and shook it and took the lid off and handed it to her. My aunt shook it by twisting her wrist back and forth and it went all over both her and my mom and everywhere else. One of my favorite childhood memories. 😂😂😂

Back when you would sell the brittle I tried to order some. I texted with you and gave you all my info and you said next time you made some you would let me know. Unfortunately I think it was then that you stopped making it and selling it. My loss. Still love you and your sister. Watch every video.
