I like using Active Dry Yeast you have to proof. I've used the Instant or Rapid Rise Yeast you add to the flour. Didn't like it. Cinnamon rolls are the first yeast bread I learned to make. I keep a chopstick in my flour and sugar bucket to level off with.

Yes; you can make an orange roll using a paste from fresh oranges & powdered sugar, you could use almond paste & top with almonds. Or you could use just sugar & butter or just butter, raisins & top with toasted almonds or cream cheese frosting.

Every where I go to buy cinnamon rolls: no raisins or nuts but they will sell cinnamon rolls saturated in icing. Nasty. Thank goodness to CZcams we can make it like our grandmas did

I think cinnamon rolls are the about the same as sticky buns. If you add your ingredients to the bottom of the pan you could make great sticky buns. If I were trying to make sticky buns I would put butter and brown sugar and chopped pecans on the bottom ❤️

I make with pumpkin paste/jam topped with cinnamon sugar also peanut butter with cinnamon sugar. Both are delicious!

They put chopped pecans on top and than icing. I'm sure you can put raisins inside and nuts.
Of course you can add raisins. We did have pecans in them.
