Super clean and readable gantt chart EVER ! Thank you so much and can see how much effort you've put to create this chart!❤️
Glad you like my version!
I'm a visual person an this is exactly how I want to see how projects are progressing. A quick wham bam and mind blown.... Thanks so much for helping my project management skills get raised to the next level.
Another good lesson, job well done. You are always forever remembered.
Thank you so much.
Way to think outside the box! Or in this case, inside the graph box. I'm so glad I subscribed to your channel. You're truly innovative with how you combine the available graph functions with the data in all your videos to maximize the presentation. Now when I hear someone claim they're an excel expert, I'll ask if they heard of Leila Gharani, if not, then they're no where close to knowing what excel can possibly do. Keep up the amazing work.
Wow, thank you for the kind words 🙏
Lovely Video clip! Forgive me for the intrusion, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you researched - Weydaniel Organized Dominator (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a great exclusive guide for getting 7000 plus project management and business templates without the headache. Ive heard some super things about it and my cousin finally got great success with it.
Kudos for the Video clip! Sorry for the intrusion, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you ever tried - Weydaniel Organized Dominator (do a search on google)? It is a good one of a kind guide for getting 7000 plus project management and business templates minus the headache. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my good mate called Gray at very last got great results with it.
Holy moly! Did not think this is even possible with Excel.
Glad you like it.
You have saved my life...thank you so much Leila...awesome work!
It's been 4 years since I've been (I hope) an advanced Excel user, and I've never find a CZcams channel with both so awesome tips & tricks and high quality in its videos.
In 2017, for my work, I've realized a tool on Excel for Project Management. I think I did a good job, but about the Gantt Charts I was not so satisfied. Then I changed company and I left the project in a folder without having time to perfect it. In the next few days I need to resume the project and seeing your video in CZcams home gave me a lot of great ideas to complete it.
Thanks a lot and keep up the good work!
Thanks for the kind feedback Daniele. I'm glad I can provide some ideas for your own project.
Great tutorial! This was exactly what I needed for my project! Thank you!
People often use colored cells and stuff to show progress in Excel, but this is dynamic and user-friendly. I love the video! Thanks!
My pleasure Patrick. I'm glad you like the video.
I'm always blown away at how good your tutorials are.
Thank you for the kind words David.
Many many thanks to you Leila. This is immensely helpful. Keep making such videos
Hi Leila, thank you for the amazing work you do. 🙏
That error bar trick is brilliant!
Error bars are totally underrated :)
I've been working with Excel for thirty years, and I've built planning matrices which try to do a similar thing, but this simply amazed me. I don't think I've ever seen a clearer explanation of something so stunning from the rather clunky basic features in Excel. You are some kind of mathematical angel, a kind of 21st century Ada Lovelace. Thanks so much!
Is there a way of making a chart, say with 4 series, where each of the series contains a set of labels and numbers which are different in each series? With all the breakdowns of each series simultaneously showing?
You never stop surprising! Moreover, I tend to find ways of implementing your methods into my work and they're really useful! Thanks a lot :)
You're very welcome. I'm happy if it's applicable to your work.
Vielen Dank Liebe Leila,🤗
I have used your previous gantt charts, and this is so sophisticated. I love all your charting techniques. ❤️
Viele liebe Grüsse 🤗
Danke, liebe Katerina! 🤗
Pure genius. Took me for-ever to get it right and working, but eventually got there. Many thanks for taking the time to put together this comprehensive tutorial on a very complex topic. Extremely helpful and useful!!
Glad it worked out!
Great explanation! Excel can do it all! Except good coffee and calculate correctly. Looking forward for November!
😂
Ain't she the best guys...simple step-by-step instructions even I can understand :).
Congratulations! Perfect job! Thank you!
This video taught me so much, thank you
the best tutorial ever. she's the best
Lovely Video! Sorry for the intrusion, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you considered - Weydaniel Organized Dominator (do a google search)? It is a great exclusive guide for getting 7000 plus project management and business templates minus the headache. Ive heard some great things about it and my mate after many years got cool success with it.✅
Thanks for the video content! Sorry for the intrusion, I would love your opinion. Have you heard the talk about - Weydaniel Organized Dominator (search on google)? It is a smashing one off guide for getting 7000 plus project management and business templates without the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my cousin got great success with it.
Throwback in time now from 2022, thank you very much Leila for your help.
I cannot say how much is appreciated your work. It can be easily seen how much you dedicated, even for this simple task of Gantt Chart in that page of your website, how much detailed and also here so well explained..I must say it's so great and you are really good.
Thank you! 😃
Thanks Leila for these many videos... Loved it...
Quite helpful. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
I've been working in project management field for more than 12 years and I confirm this was AWESOME!!!
Good to hear, thank you!
I just want you to know that I started a new job today and they asked me to put together a timeline chart using Planned and updated timing with two bars for each task and your video saved me. Thank you very much.
میدونی چیه؟ شما فوق العاده هستین. واقعا بهترین آموزشهای اکسل هستش که به عمرم دیدم.you know what? YOU ARE AMAZING . The best excel training vids ever seen, and trust me I have seen a lot
Aw, thank you! I'm glad you like my videos.
Thank you, it is a lifesaver, you are an Excel god!
Great Gantt Chart. The vertical Line marking Today is absolutely fantastic. Thanks Leila. This is very helpful.
Glad you like this version of the Gantt Chart!
Excellent Leila! Some years ago a company I was working for spent a small fortune on software for project planning and it was useless. We wasted time learning how to use it and then putting in data, and it never really did what we wanted. The comments below should bring a smile to your lips - you are really appreciated!
They definitely do George!
No words to say... you are really great ..
Wow! This is so easy to follow. Thank you so much! 😍🥰🤩It really helped me in our division roadmap.
Very useful tutorial. Great work Leila. Thanks
There's always a way in excel to do anything.. loved it ...
Like they say: If you can think it, you can do it :)
Thank you for doing this!
Your efforrs are always highly appreciated...
I'm glad to hear that :)

Thank you for the kind words Wayne.
This really helped me! Thank you :)
Hi Leila, I would love it if you added a scroll bar to the Gantt chart view, via a how-to video. Thanks and keep up the fantastic work!
Perfect!!! Congratulation on your excellent work!
This is by far the best gantt chart I ever found for Excel.... Fantastic work and thank you very much for sharing!
Wow, thank you Sergio!
Thanks Leila, so useful! I needed to track projects in a portfolio and show if they had been extended past the approved end date. A bit tricky but I got there in the end.
That's great Dianne. I'm glad you could apply it right away.
Wow impressive!! Gonna learn it later
This Gantt chart series is amazing, appreciate your videos definitely have learned so much from you
Glad you like them!
Wanted to learn how to do this for a long time. Great video! Will really help me with time management for projects in school.
I'm glad the tutorial is helpful Rasmus.
Super like !!!! This is exactly what I was looking for. Many of my team members do not have MS Project and I often need to show them the project progress in excel. This uses a really weird method of bars + scatter plot to achieve the plan vs actual chart ! Out of the box thinking !
You're very welcome!
This is great! Will use this as a production planning tool. Thanks!
My pleasure. I'm glad it's useful.
Thx for sharing. Loving it.
Super useful! Thank you.
Wow..... Just wow...
It's really helpful!
Thanks!
Thank you very much, I learn so much from you
What a great video, thank you so much! I just have a question, can you do the same chart but displaying Quarters and years instead of actual dates?
Always creative Queen of Excel , thanks Leila
Trying my best :)
Amazing!
Great video, as usual, thanks for sharing. It's full of inspiring tips, my favourite one: error bars customization :)
That's brilliant! Thanks for sharing!
You're very welcome Jean-Luc.
Just what I needed. You're fabulous!
Glad you like it Marlon.
You are awesome!!
Leila, you are a genius.
This is magic!
This video was so helpful! Thank you for making it so easy to understand
You're so welcome!
Awesome video. Thank you Leila.
You're very welcome Arnaud.
Excellent.. Good thinking and good work
Thank you leila.
Hi Leila, Thank You for the amazing work you do. I really appreciate your work as i have learnt a lot from your videos. I am creating a maintenance schedule for the 3 years. I have equipment names in column A, type of equipment in column B, and the various frequencies of maintenance per machine i.e., daily weekly, monthly, after 2 years etc. in column c. on column D I have the start date for each equipment. from column E up to APG are dates for the years starting 1/1/2022. I am looking for a code or a formulae that will mark an "x" corresponding to a date based on the maintenance schedule on column B. Also if you change the schedule on B e.g. from daily to weekly the "x" will change appropriately on the cell corresponding to those dates. Thank You In Advance
Thx a lot...a much needed output...
bit convoluted but masterful in the end. I am impressed again, Leila. thank you
Glad you like my version.
I did implement the former solution with the Actual or Plann-dropdown - but this is so much cooler. I could - though - suggest an option for the dateline, so I could present the progress by choosing the Gantt for last meeting and then the progress as it is today. Also - for the presentation - an option for "rolling out" the lines still in progress one at a time ... :). Also I back up What the Hmmm wants - because userfriendliness. But still - I love it.
Very useful... nice presentation... appreciate your work. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
My pleasure. I'm glad the tutorial is helpful.
Brilliant! Thank you very much!
My pleasure Filippo. Glad you like it.
Absolutely Helpful video and a very clean gantt chart
I'm happy you like my version.
@@LeilaGharani yes thx alotttt
amazing...very useful in Project Management without resorting to MSProject software
thank you for sharing this to us madam Leila Gharani
Simply awesome
awesome work and thanks for sharing 🙂
You are the best thank you so much
Superb u are.. I got my issue solved.. Love ur skills.. I struggled today a lot to show planned and actual in same chart but tried with stacked bar only.. Good 💡 to use scattered..
I am not a fan of Microsoft square bar when drawing tasks. Been trying to find a way to implement the rounded bar in Excel but to no avail. Thanks to your tips and tricks I am now able to implement the rounded bar throughout the whole project. Instead of using the stacked bars chart for the actual and progress, I use the technique that you share with the scatter chart. Once again thanks so much Leila
Thanks Leila. Very inspiring
My pleasure Robert. Glad you find it inspiring.
Seems like i have to learn this too. I thought i was done with project management toolset. Thanks Leila for dedicating your time
I hope it will be useful for you.
You're simply awesome
You did great work thanks
Love it. Thanks!!
My pleasure. I'm glad you like it.
Followed along and works like a charm... Great vids and tutorials...!
Great to hear!
BRILLIANT
This is brilliant, I don't even need MPP for the regular project plans, plus the visuals are much better.
I'm glad the tutorial is helpful.
Elegant - great solution with many useful tips included as always! :-D
I'm glad you like it Christian.
Great video. Early on at 2:44, when I selected 'fill without formatting', the dates I used all change to a string of 4 digits. Do you know why this happens?
wonderful example!
Glad you like it Doug.
Thank you!!!!
Hello @LeilaGharani,
In the minute 5:44, you could put the date and automatically Excel put the number: you put 4/15/24 and Excel gives you 45397.0 after the enter.
Thank you for your videos, they are awesome!
You are really good!
Leila you saved my life so many times.. what a great video and presentation
My pleasure, Jason!
Very Good. Thank You
Thanks again for your share, this very useful for me. Regard
Awesome, Just perfect and Thanks a lot.
Most welcome!
Hello Leila, thank you for the video. I have a question, do you have a hint or a video how to make two overlapping gantt charts to show, for instance, where there is an overlap of resources (e.g. we have 10 IT specialist working on 20 projects in the same year)? I tried multiple options, but no luck.
