To avoid charts resetting, you can save the original chart as template and apply that template in the new chart using "change chart type > templates"
Great tip 👌
I've been using excel for complex budgets and forecast, and thought I was an advanced user, until I came across your videos, your work , the way you find those solutions, is just impressive , thank you very much for enlightening us :)
Same. I felt so noob watching her videos
She is just too good. I watch her videos every day. I can't get enough
Same here, she is amazing.
Same as me lol
I do agree with you 😅
This is brilliant, I had no clue you could change shapes like that!
Just when you think you know enough about graphs, Leila comes and shows us more interesting stuff!! My takes on this video are the overlapping columns, the copy+paste of shapes and icons and the ctrl+shift+C and ctrl+shift+V. Thanks Leila :)
Wow I wish they taught me that kind of stuff in my mastering excel college course. Thank you so much. I will have to check you out on udemy
That solution is off the charts!! Just an amazing demonstration of skill.
You might be the best tutor who ever existed. Your videos are amazing. Much respect.
Wow, thanks Mohammed!
Bloody brilliant. Flat out the best how-to excel video I have seen. Those dialogue boxes are so complex I always shy away from messing around with them, but your instructions are so clear you blow away the barrier to getting effective results. A huge thank you..
I LOVE THIS VIDEO!! I have seen other tutorials for similar subjects but never explained in this straight-forward manner, or in such a concise and helpful way. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skills with us!
Glad it was helpful Khaled!
In case it gets overlap, you can fix the icon using IF condition on Icon value, say upto 15%. That way even though icon goes out of blue shade into grey , it's better than overlap as beyond 15%(15%-0%) the icon stops moving. Ex:=IF(A2-0.05
I have no words to express my gratitude Leila, Thank you very much!!!! You have no idea how your tutorials have helped me shine!
This is amazing. Thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you so much Leila. God bless you
This is like ASMR to me. Immediately sub
Hahahaha :D this made me laugh so hard, nice
Thanks. Again, a great example with a much simpler process than I thought.
I love the tone of your voice as well as the content!
Right?? Excel can be super frustrating and unintuitive, but she's always so calm.
Stronger feelings are starting to emerge here.
first, I love this tutorial. I thought I was "pretty good" at excel but these videos show me there is so much more to learn. awesome! Second, I noticed that when I paste the icons on the scatter plot they come out blurry (low resolution). I'm on a mac using an updated version of office 365. has anyone else seen this?
You are a God of Excel! Thank you so much. Today I have learned how to make those "NOT your usual Bar Chart" that I was looking for. I have been developing an assessment tool for Operations and this is exactly what I needed to represent score in various elements in a visually appealing and informative manner. Thank you again.
67 is what I had in mind, in 2024 this is still relevant, thank you and well done!!
I've been working with Excel since 2.0 (1988) and I've never considered doing info-graphics before with Excel. This was a very enjoyable tutorial. I've subscribed and banged the bell. Thank you for creating.
I'm glad you liked it. Welcome to the community!
Because it's useless. Nobody does this in excel. It takes too much time. There are better softwares that allow you to visualize your data more efficiently.
@@Thorin632 What other better software did you pay for? You see, the MS package is an affordable option.
What is this black magic?!?
Awesome tips. I haven't used scatter charts yet. I tend to always use pivot charts but this looks fun.
Wao...The more I watch, the more I learn
Thanks Leila
Ultimate impressiveness as always! Taken one of your courses on Macros and will definitely be adventuring to complete some more of them. Keep it up you are helping us all!
This is amazing. Thanks for sharing and for making it look easy.

Excellent! Very pleasant to listen to your tutorials. You make it easy for us! Thank you!
Wonderful indeed
I'll draw some of these for my company.
We all should ask MS for an improvement..... preservation of your hard work when you change data sources.
You can copy/paste chart formats. Helps sometimes.
Hi Leila! Congratullations, EXCEllent video!
Thank you! Glad you like it :)
BTW - the way you explain things is next level... Stay blessed.
I knew this is going to be handy for me someday. I will be using this chart is in my current project. I just tweaked the source data so it would be dynamic as well (i.e. excel table, pivot) and so I could use slicers. Thank you so much Leila! 😉
So cool: New Series with people pictures : )
That's a good idea :)
No, no, I do not mean a series of videos... In the video you said chart tricks are often solved with new series values!!! So in the video you created a new series for the people icons... Thus: New Series with People Icons : )
Ohhhhhh yeah I see :)
I use pictures and images in the bar, it is very useful for some information belong countries, the bars showing countries flags. , for example for showing population we can use flag picture in the bars
You are amazing Leila, thankss a lot
Totally love your vids 👌
I'm very happy to hear that. Thank you for your support.
Hi Leila, im an old excel user, so I am so glad I found yr channel because a lot has changed in excel over the years, and now I really need to learn the new charting features properly and yr videos are a life saver, thanks heaps. 😊 cheers Kev

this is so awesome!!
Thanks Joe. Glad you like it.
Leila Gharani actually, i watch basically all of your CZcams videos. It helps me alot
I just came across this video when searching for help on a project that I am working on. Awesome! Thank you. Your explanations are very easy to follow.
Excellent! I loved the use of scatter chart to set the dynamic icon. Very impressed.
FYI, the shapes only get updated if the new range doesn't overlap the original range - so if you expand it to cover both, and then shrink it, you should be able to keep the formatting.
do you know how to fix it? it happens to me when female bar is 90% or 100%
This is great and all, but how do I make a turkey in Excel? Thanksgiving is 2 days away and I'm at a loss.
Be careful with what you ask for! Leila might be able to do it using excel haha
😂
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂
Very good! You never cease to amaze me with your Excel knowledge!
Another great video, thank you, I now know that ctl+shift+ c & v copies and paste formatting only, Awesome tip, thanks Leila!
I love you
Question re icon and label overlap when values small: Firstly, thank you for this excellent tip; I tried it and it looks great. My question is, how can one factor in a change in the position of the labels and icons for when the values fall small, so that they don't overlap? For example at 10% the label and icon sit on top of each other. Can a , say, conditional formatting with IF() be used to change the label position to avoid this? Many thanks for all your tutorials, Z
Addendum 1: On my sheet when the percentage for one of the chart data series falls below 26% the icon and series label start to overlap. So I changed the Icon's X axis position formula on the spreadsheet to: =IF(B4
Could you please link the additional video which you refer to in your addendum? I am quite curious about it.
Had a full semester on Excel in B school but this is awesome. You make it sound so simple
Hi Leila, thank you so much for your videos. It helps me to achieve my goals in office. I am learning a lot from your videos. Keep it up 😊
