It's a good idea to wash the sneakers with soap and water first too... dish detergent and warm water or laundry detergent and warm water work well. They will become whiter if any loose dirt is removed before using baking soda or toothpaste.

I use ajax powder with or without bleach. I usually buy one or two whenever I go to the dollar store and also use an old toothbrush or any cleaning brush handy. It works really good and hardly any trouble at all . Best of all it's done in minutes.

It's so strange you see everywhere to combined vinager (an acid) with baking soda (a base). They cancel each other out completely and leave behind salt. So you end up cleaning with salt. Stop mixing acids and bases guys! Tho, you can clean with vinager, and AFTER with baking soda, or vice versa. Just not at the same time.

The Baking soda mix is to clean the soles of the shoes maybe that is why it didn’t work as well on the fabric parts…??

I would caution using this method on any other color than white! It may bleach them !

When it comes to white shoes always buy 2 pair of the same shoe....one to wear all the time, one to go out in . Hopefully, you can get some mileage out of the pair you wear all the time before no amount of cleaning can help. Than you still have your goin out white shoes that are fresh ta deaf! 😉

I honestly didn’t try it there, so I’m not sure . However, I think it would work well or is at-least worth a try because the sole is the leather/rubber material ! It should come right off .
