The new Luxe LightWrap and LightWrap FX are making some HUGE changes to the light and Chrome tinting market. I've been eyeing up the LightWrap FX Honeycomb Mid smoke for a few weeks now and finally decided how I want to install it.
I do one full light for you in this video and explain the process in detail, then show off the finished product.

Damn, I wish you posted this video 2 months ago. I went to a shop to have my tail lights tinted, and they did a horrible job. You the man when it comes to customizing!

As soon as the light one is available, I'll buy along with the tape. Expensive, but it will protect the plastic from scratches. It does scratches easily.
awesome choice I think that light smoke will show some red, which may in turn show more honeycomb with the lights off. I cannot wait to get some. Be sure to note I updated my recommendation on the tape, finish line is better with the New LightWrap, there have been reports that design line sometimes snaps because it's so thin. I put the correct link in the description.

I don’t think I would cover the brake lights, but I would definitely put on the honeycomb pattern on my taillights.
Same here with the mid smoke the 2 layers is too dark for my taste. I have some light smoke coming soon.

Yep I pulled it off. A lot of people like the fully blacked out look. Me personally I like to see a little red so I’m going with Luxe light Honeycomb.
I like that look when it's lit up. Not a fan of the dark loom when it's not lit though. I can't wait to see the light smoke

I love the smoked out look, but I’m concerned about the reduction in brightness, especially in the daylight. Looks like it reduces brightness by half almost. I would retrofit to a brighter led kit if I was to do it I think.
Don't forget there is a lighter grade of tint as well (which I have on order) I also doubled the tint on the brake and reverse light, now in hindsight it was not necessary with the mid smoke honeycomb. The brake lights are still fully visible in the daytime even at a long distance.

It needs to make an official comeback on the consumer market. I love the ones they are making from the Camaro frame, but that price is a bit steep. I'm going to wait a few more years then nail a nice 4th gen in Black or red.

Couldn't you close the trunk when you do the hex film and wrap the whole section with one larger piece of hex so the pattern lines up perfectly? Put the knifeless tape all the way around and cut the seam between the lights with a blade.
Put the tape on before you spray......you wasted about 18 sprays lol

Inspection may be an issue depending on the state. No noticeable impact the the reverse camera.

Had you any honeycomb tape leftover - - how do you think it would look if applied to the "Halos" please? I like running with the amber/orange all day driving lights, as that's how my Challenger looks best.
I have a 2016 Challenger, Bright White SXT & it might look cheesy (on the Halos), but I'm hoping it MIGHT give it a "blood-shot eyes" appearance.

What were the measurements that you ordered on the site? Would 20” * 2 yards be enough for both tail lights?
20 x 1 is perfect if you cut it how they recommend on the product page.
If you are a beginner I recommend 20 x2 so you have the ability to make mistakes.

Yes it easily peels right off in one piece with no residue when the temperature is above 70F below that the vinyl tends to not want to cooperate. I've swapped i out recently with their new fades czcams.com/video/_n-ohGPunqo/video.html

Were you using MgGuiers spray wax to clean with? Just asking....
For the clay process I use either spray wax or suds as a lubricant. Before applying the vinyl I remove the grease and wax with a 60/40 Isopropyl and water solution to make sure nothing impacts the adhesive

How dark did you go on your side markers
I went with the dark smoke so none of the color from the lights bleeds through. you can still see the reflectors when the lights are off and they lights are still visible at long distances. the tint in this pic is dark smoke with Brushed metal instagram.com/p/B76L6EOl7HI/

Depends on what you want. If you want to black out the whole tail section you would order 1 yard and apply like mine. If you only want to cover the center area you buy the strips. I applied both only because I wanted lighter tint on the outside and darker in the centers.

Why black out your reverse lights
It looks good with minimal impact to the revers lighting and no impact to brake visibility day or night.
Many newer cars are coming with their tail lights blacked out already

Yes no issues with backing up. Even in areas with no street lighting.

Go to any craft store and buy a 'fabric painting marker' of your color choice. I went with red because I have black seats looks amazing. I have a lot of plans with this ride cosmeticly and performance. If you want some details hit me up... I promise you will like ;)
Forgot to mention, if you have fabric seats be more careful... If you have leather you have NO worries. Just work 12" at a time and rub off excess with rag or paper towells. Windex "Something not to strong" should be ok... I just used paper towels had no issues.
Precut strips would have better.
They sell pre-cut strips for the center but you cannot pre cut a full tail light.

@@WorkPlayDrive i have a 100th edition 2014 full leather sport leath wrap steering wheel, alum hand pat shift full leather 2 tone brown stiching, heated seats, premium alpine sounds, sport mode button all under a good old stx 3.6vvt v6 got it as a 2nd owner 2019 with 51k miles at 14k so yea payments are cheap like 200 insurance is 180 a normal 350-450 car payment tota. so ill never afford a hell cat or a 392 all them payments would be 700-1000+ and besides its my daily driver so..... i will need a 2nd one to do all the cool stuff to it but another car payment would break me. so... yeah like i said hope and dreams hopes and dreams. and considering what you dumped $$$ in yours yea your reaching 75k fast
