    Hey everyone welcome back to another video! Today I'm wrapping up part two of my review of the X-RayPad Jade & Obsidian Donuts! Now these skates were very interesting to test, they're quite different from the previous Jade & Obsidian dots. Now the dots do "fix" some of the shortfalls that were found on the Obsidian Dots but due to their donut design the Jade & Obsidian donuts also have their own shortfalls that makes these skates feel, for lack of a better word half-baked. Hopefully we'll see a V2 of the Jade & Obsidian Donuts in the future that resolve the issues with the V1 Donuts but we'll have to wait and see. I hope you all enjoy the video and I'll catch you in the next one, peace ✌

    Can you elaborate on the consistency issues on certain pads/mice that you talked about? I have a raiden mid

  • @HellSpawnRulerOfHell

    Interesting.
    I found the Jade Donuts faster and way more consistent than the Dots.
    Especially since the Dots are domed as a posed to solid like the Donuts and can get a bit flattened out.
    I prefer Jade Donuts and love using them on fast pads.

      What pads did you try the jades on? I tested them on all my pads but I may have missed something with other pad types

      @@mel0nFPS Not many, I tried the Jades on my Shidenkai V1 and V2.
      The Dots felt softer, a bit "creamy" and a bit slower.
      Almost like there was a bit of give or softness to them, which seems to somewhat hide the feeling of the pad.
      While, the donuts felt more solid and scratchy. But in a good way that let me feel the surface of my Shidenkai better.
      Which made them feel a bit more slick to me.

      Update.
      I got the Wallhack SP-004 and the Donuts felt a bit slow at first, so I tried the Dots and a random set of hole punched skates I have.
      The Jade Dots still felt to minimize the feeling of the pad, and were way slower than the hole punched skates I have lying around.
      Because the Jade Dots are domed and not completely solid.
      I think there’s a subtle bit of flex to them, especially on hard pads. That causes them to minimize some of the aspects of the pad’s surface. As well as make them not as consistent as I would like.
      So I use something to flatten the Dots out which made them seem faster and transmit more of the texture of the pad.
      Tho as I’ve used the pad and it sort of broke in as stated by several reviews it started to feel faster.
      I eventually switched back to the Donuts, as to me they still felt more consistent and have a better feel of the pad.

    Have you used the obsidian donuts and dots on a hayate otsu? My obsidian donuts were actually louder and very scratchy (without center dot) compared to dots on my otsu mid, so its interesting that you say the donut obsidians had less audio feedback than the dots. Also, because jades wear fast, about how often do you recommend replacing them?

  • @Burizaaa

    Can you feel the warped donut in the dav3? Thinking about getting these or dots for my dav3 but the cutout might be too small for the donuts

    • @mel0nFPS
      @mel0nFPS  Před měsícem +1

      Sadly it's notifiable due to the increased height. For the DAV3 I'd recommend getting the dots as they'll be much more universally compatible.

  • @corvusgaming1577

    @mel0n_ does the small center dot only scratch if using it separately or also if u leave it inside the donut?

    • @mel0nFPS
      @mel0nFPS  Před 2 měsíci +1

      The center dot is only scratchy if you remove it from the center of the donut skates. The center dot is about 0.6 mm thick whereas the actual donut skate itself is 0.8 mm thick so as long as you leave them inside the skate they won't scratch.

    Hey mel0n, what PTFE skates in your experience would you recommend for someone looking for the lowest possible friction on a glass pad? I currently have a set of Tiger Ice V2 pad skates on my mouse but I've found them to be a little slower than I was hoping, probably due to the large area of contact that they have with the pad.

    • @mel0nFPS
      @mel0nFPS  Před 4 měsíci +2

      Dot skates would be the way to go for the lowest amount of friction. If you like the tiger-ice skates you can get the dot-versions of those or you can look at other options like the X-RayPad obsidian/jade dots!

    • @AppleNdiB
      @AppleNdiB Před 4 měsíci

      I think I'll get a pack of the tiger ice dots and some of the obsidian dots and see which ones I prefer since I imagine neither will last very long on a glass pad. Many thanks for the help!

      @@AppleNdiBobsidian dots or obsidian pro dots are the way to go for glas IMO. the tiger ice ve PTFE is too soft and as it flattens out they become scratchy rather quickly.

    • @mel0nFPS
