GRANNAS SUPRA - COMPOUND TURBO DYNO

- We got the car on the dyno to get a baseline and start to dial in the setup so we can go to the track and start testing. We ran out of time today, but got it to where we are more comfortable on higher boost levels. We stopped at 48psi for today we will turn it up all the way at the track.
I know this may not be the HUGE dyno numbers everyone wanted to see, but again we are only at 48psi and we normally run 80. i am saving the big power tuneup for the track. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I love how you can hear both turbos come on line
Yea
Compound is the future 💯
I don't know how technical you want to get with your boost control, but you can setup the primary wastegates to reference interstage pressure, there by splitting how much work each turbo does. Quite often people will try to let the big turbo do all the work, when you may actually get better results by keeping them both closer to their peak efficiency zone. Even for a given manifold pressure, you can end up with different hp depending on how hard each turbo is working.
Spools faster if you keep it split on the PR also
To make a compound isolate each turbo to it's full potential u need to have a split with gate on the exhaust and intake side......other wise you will be dragging the hot air from the first turbo
Was wondering if having a turbo speed sensor on the high pressure turbo would help, then you can keep the smaller turbo in its peak efficiency using an egate or vacuum operated gate and then let the larger turbo do its thing.
@@samuelmdouglas Yeah your onto it 👍.....you need to by pass the first turbo in the higher RPM to remove the heat from the first turbo from the compressor side....also bypass the hot side exhaust wheel for wasted energy
Has anyone in this comment thread actually built and run a compound setup?
Nice work guys, looking forward to seeing the new setup dialled in.
That is night and day difference between old and new power curves. On the last dyno pull, I swear I heard the stick shift record breaking.
Keep the videos coming this thing is a work of art
Puttin in work! I bet it feels good to see the huge gains at lower rpm's. It sounds incredible. Good luck at 2k.
I’ve been watching your builds since your single turbo z32 days . Beautiful build 👍
Looks great. I hope your new setup goes beyond your expectations on the track. Good luck.
HOLY SMOKES!!!! 1500 wheel that’s nuts!!!
Congratulations on the improvements! Can’t wait to see it on the track next! 🔥💪🏽 way to go guys!
Nice one fella, good luck with your testing! Always pushing the boundaries and pushing the envelope for us big turbo Supra owners ❤
Really keen to see this at work on the track. Please post more content on this build.❤
Wow.... Looks like the New setup will dominate all.🙌⭐🔥🔥🔥🔥😎🏁🏁🏁
Very nice build bestvof luck on the drag strip cant wait to see how the car preforms
Wow, would have never thought those two dyno graphs were from the same car, that's awesome. Can't wait to see how it does on the track!
I love that large gain in the lower RPM. Obviously this application mainly aims for peak power at all times, but having a setup that is capable of producing usable boost at any given time should make it far more manageable with managing wheel slip, having to pedal the car, and so on. I’m sure it’ll be very different to drive, which is exciting. Very interesting in seeing how this setup relays on the track and other changes that will be needed to compliment it. Way to go dudes 👏🏾
Can't wait to see this beautiful Supra put a pass down with this set up. Those gains are amazing.
Immaculate work and tuning...
that graph looks amazing.
All I can say is incredible
Holy shit…that early power gain is impressive.
desde Panamá VEOOO tus video siempre 🎉❤🎉
Damm thats a huge gain! well done
Sounds great...🔥🔥🔥
Man. Setup is gonna be fun!
Good luck J G..
Haw man she's gunna roll out haaaard!!
Love It man.
I love the over lay with the new set up. Vs the old. Shows so much more power. I would like to see if you ever dyno it again at 75 psi and over lay on the old set up at 75psi. Hopefully get to see you run at wcf this year. It's definitely my favorite race car. Just don't tell the owner of the car I work on, lol.
Can’t wait to see you guy’s at fl2k🔥🔥🔥
Great job.
Hell yea sweet gains
Big improvement at lower RPMs. Now you have to plant that power on the track.
yesss bro! i love my compound K24
Oh man, it's about to get real wild out here.
Roberto and the boys at RAV Performance!
That is super impressive , looking forward to your track testing. Honestly my brain thinks the little turbo will restrict the big guy.
Depends on mow much he's got on the gate at the big boy. The way you tune boost for this type setup is pretty interesting. You basically tune it for the mid pipe, and multiply the air pressure by the same amount to keep the turbos from over/under feeding. So like a 4psi mid pipe means your manifold should be 16psi, 4x and then 4x again
You're breaking the mold, onliterating it even. Very few people use this kind of turbo setup, but your e/t will set the standard I have no doubt. OMB is gonna rip the hardest it ever has at 3000-6000rpm, and possibly even at 10k depending on what peak boost is
1. Looks great. Fab work is beautiful
2. Sounds effin amazing
3. Can't help but wonder what aerodynamic penalty there is to the exhaust bullhorn(s) hanging out into the airstream like that.
That's cool to see the gas monkey garage GT40 being worked on do I have to say it was awesome seeing that car do 320 miles an hour🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hell yeah
Can't wait to see this beast at world cup 🎉🎉🎉🎉of
More please
My goodness the power gains down low!
The 60ft gonna be crazy. Is it easier to control the turbo speed compared to before ?
Thumbs up before hitting play
Look forward to seeing you guys at FL2K ?
Joel. Let’s take this car back to St Marys and take it down the runway. LoL. Hope you and family are doing great
Thing is working
damn the amount of power and tq gains in the lower rpm is insane! things gonna be somehow even quicker ahhaha. Have you ever dynod it on old setup around 48psi? and what did it make on old setup on bigger boost?
bad ass
When will you guys be going to the track for some testing?
About time someone compound turbo'd a gasser straight 6.
Ahh they have been doing that for YEARS
@@ACommenterOnCZcams On diesels for a long long time.
Cant wait to see the time slips.its gona haul ass for sure
Where do you get the idea for compounds? Bake grips or jett performance.
🧡
That thing is gona be on like donkey Kong
This a new set up?
You guys coming to orlando for sport compact challenge?
What date is that ?
I wish more ppl would do compound turbos. No wonder yur so flipping faster
Bro with that double spool sound, YOU HAVE TO DO A CLIP OF AUDIO OF STREET DRIVING WITH SPOOL SOUNDS. PLEASE!!!!!
this car going to be hella nasty
welp thats just fucking cool
And then there's nitrous. Cool.
there is a 2j out there with one 88mm that makes 2000hp
I feel like the smaller turbo housing will bottle neck the big turbos ability at some point
As long as you have enough wastegate to bypass the small turbine, it will be fine
its not the hot side im talking about. its the cold side. The small Turbos housing has to be a huge restriction.
@@TravisAndrew1 definitely not. this is where thinking of airflow in terms of CFM misleads you, the compressor are air density machines working in pressure ratios. The flow out of the compressor is 100% dependent on the flow into the compressor.
Lets leave it to the acual professionals not just clowns in the comments with their 2 cents
Nice work boys!! Nearly as much power as a barra with $1300 of mods.
I doubt this is anywhere near maximum boost. Hub dynos are notoriously hard on high-power manual cars, so they're probably trying to avoid excessive wear on the driveline in general, snd and the clutch in particular.
@@griffinfaulkner3514 bro you need to learn Australian banter
@@madrx2 It doesn't really translate well into text.
Im afraid of this powerband...thats a diesel like graph now
Oooh thank fark its not on a dynocom dyno.
So basically my dad should run a smaller turbo on his street car to feed his big turbo lol. 🤷🏽♂️
Your old power curve looked terrible!
Does that shop have a youtube channel?
OMBAF 🫡 can’t wait to see it at the track.
