    That's a great starting point. With just a few more mods and a 4hi/TC off pull you could get that down to possibly sub 4 seconds.
    I know a tranny tune would help it a lot. Just unlock it and buy the credits to get it done. And despite what you may have heard you will definitely see more power past 6k rpm. My 5.3 build is at 684hp/724tq at 5600. At 6400 it's 785hp/719tq @ 198.4kpa.
    If my 5.3 can do it your displacement definitely can. You probably need larger injectors and low side pump (450/even 535) or boost a pump. You could get away with just shimming the high side...like a .060 shim. 🤙🍻
    You have a nice truck!

    As a coyote owner people who keep bringing up the 18 and up trucks forget that they’re 10 speeds plus they’re also aluminum so they weigh much less and they rev much higher. Even the 1st gens with a tune and boss 302 can rev to 7k easily. This is really good for as heavy as these trucks are and the several disadvantages it has to the 5.0 trucks

    • @danbucklet
      @danbucklet Před 2 lety +7

      No that's just how OHV V8s shift. This one hits its peak power of 420 horsepower at 5,600 RPM (stock). Because it's a big powerful V8, it doesn't need to rev any higher than 5,600 before going into the next gear because the powerband is so wide. So GM tuned it to shift at 5,600 rather than 6,500 RPM so it'll last longer. Also, these things aren't racecars, they're trucks. So they haven't been tuned to shift for straight line drag strip performance, they're geared for hauling and towing

    • @JKZ103
      @JKZ103 Před 2 lety +1

      The camshaft lsa and a bunch of other factors determine where you make peak power. This truck im sure has a stock cam so there is no use in going past 5600rpm. If it had an aftermarket cam it would make power higher in the range. Moves okay for what it is. Thats alot of displacement.

      Any boosted application needs a catch can. I know because I poured oil out of my intercooler when I got my ecoboost. Blow by is more prevelant in positive displacement engines. Also who gives a shit if he's a noob. Catch can is a good choice for this and anyone that says otherwise either doesn't work on their own stuff or has never had a boosted ride or both. The internet makes me feel like a genius, keep em commig!

      I can’t speak for the 6.2, but any newer direct injection boosted motor benefits from a catch can. Performance wise? Absolutely not, but blowing oil and contaminants on to the tops of intake valves via blow by is a great way to shorten the life of a motor. Catch cans serve a purpose, they’re not just engine bay candy.
