"The Appalachian people are real". This is a fitting title for the first few videos on this channel. I think that's one of several reasons why this interview with Nathan comes across as so agreeable. I'm by nature an introvert and I do not suffer well superficiality, idle chatter, and ostentatious people. There was stuff of real substance in his sharing. The amount of information he conveyed in just over half an hour would be a fitting lesson on the history of musical artists of the region. There is not even a hint of arrogance or bragging or anything like that in how he talked about his family, the musical history of the region, and the mountains he calls home. That impressed me and supported his assertion that he is grounded in his faith. These are wonderful videos that have the capacity to affirm those who know Appalachia and to open up the eyes and ears and minds of those who don't.
This video is incredible! "A three minute song can sometimes do more for a person than a two hour sermon." That's wisdom right there. I love this video, because it gives me insight into how one native Appalachian thinks, speaks, and views the world. Not only that, I've gotten to know an incredible person (a shorter video wouldn't have allowed me to do that). Thank you for putting this video together. I'm a better person because of it.
This is SO fascinating. Nathan just exudes an authenticity and realness of who Appalachian folk are. The history he recounted is wonderful. Some time ago, on the other channel you asked for suggestions on future topics. I asked for something on Appalachian music, so I really appreciate this. I hope there's lots more focus on the music. And now I have to go about familiarizing myself far more with the Stanley Brothers and Nathan. Thanks Josh!! 🥰

I love the way this guy speaks and sounds! I could sit and listen to this guy talk for hours. I truly could. He is a storyteller!! He also reminds me a little bit of Elvis Presley. A very interesting man indeed, with a very interesting family history! I’d love to visit this museum. Fantastic video!!

I enjoy the new journey you are taking us on with this new channel. This man is very fascinating to listen to. I had heard of the Stanley's, but he really brings their story to life. It's like I am right there in person listening to him. A man who seems to really love his family and his roots. Keep these stories coming.
