While they sometimes bring other people with them on their exploring adventures, I like these types of videos where it's just the two of them. They seem so in tune with each other. Never arguing about which direction to go in, both being really calm and cautious. Perfect match up for a team like this.
true, not too much not too little said
Absolutely!
Let me tell ya guys. I'm a Veteran who suffers from depression way too damn much. But watching your videos somehow makes me feel better. Even if for an hour at a time . I'll take it . I appreciate you .
I'm glad you found something you enjoy. Don't give up! :)
Ditto bro 🙏
Same as bro.
Thank you for your service. I am so sorry . Im glad these are helping you and I hope you can get through your depression. And if you can't and struggle every day, its ok. Im proud of you for every day you wake up. You are worth it.
Thank you for your service, Erik. Don’t give up and keep fighting! I hope you are doing well.
This mansion is in Pennsylvania, it was built by Edgar Scott, the son of Thomas A. Scott who was U.S. Assistant Secretary of War during the Civil War under Lincoln's Presidency. He later went on to become president of Pennsylvania Railroad during the Reconstruction Era. Thomas owned the property and after his death in the 1880s his son Edgar commissioned a prominent architect to build this mansion. During the early 1900s the mansion was occupied by Edgar, his wife, his children and their servants. Edgar went on to fight and die in WW1 a year after departing. His wife sold the estate to a religious group who later sold it in the 1980s and it was then repurposed as a nursing home. The nursing home switched locations leaving the property abandoned. There are current plans to demolish the property to make way for a park and trail.
King of Thailand amazes me this isn't the top comment. Its got my vote!
It amazes me how a property like this can just be left abandoned to rot away. When the nursing home abandoned it I really doubt it was in all that bad of condition.
You can really see it's age in the layout of the rooms, particularly the attic area's.
The history is fascinating! Thank you!
I hate seeing big old homes falling apart like this. It would have been neat to turn it into a B&B or something
Now when someone uses the word 'mansion', THIS is what most folks picture in their minds. A huge, sprawling place of stone, lath and plaster. Elaborate staircases, high ceilings, ornamentation and woodwork everywhere. Nooks and crannies and attics you can get lost at every turn. It hurts to see such a beautiful building gone to ruin, but excellent job in capturing the remains!
Can you imagine how beautiful this building must have been before it was a hospital type setting? Its huge! Love the staircase! Thanks for doing what u do! I wish i was that brave!
same, i wish i was that brave x,D
+Kiwi Kitt I would do that too. Sadly there are no abonded (i wrote it wrong huh?) places where i live. Y DO THIS TO ME AUSTRIA?!
NIklas Felder xD Yeah, it's 'abandoned' but no biggie ^-^ There are a lot of abandoned places near me, but I'm too scared heheh
I used to believe that too... but trust me, there are abandoned places anywhere. ;)
+Alpenrose Nope not where i live. My parents and friends said there are none near.
I am ill, so I spent the whole day binge watching your videos, which made my day SO much better. Thank you!
+Live To Explore I agree
If you want to binge watch abandoned Locations you can check out my channel here :D I know shameless self-promotion, but i promise, you won't regret it (hopefully)
***** haha thanks, yeah still doesn't feel right to me, don't want to bother anyone :D
Aww I hope you get better
+Lumpy Space Potato I'll binge watch your sadness...
That was a bad place to be without a mask. The room you went into before you left the basement was top to bottom full of mold. The fog you mentioned was mold spores in the air. Don't forget you're mask. I hope you don't or didn't get sick. I didn't check the date. otherwise great video guys.
True, and they need to add eye protection too and coveralls would be a plan so they can be removed after exiting as not to contaminate the car/clothing.
depends on how long of a walk to the car was if it was an hour even 30 min it's out of question. and Dan Bell and Adam the Woo Don't wear eye protection you don't need it. it's extra weight you dont want to carry.
Well, my doctor advocates eye protection. I worked in a moldy book warehouse.
Julia D by no means saying you are wrong. :)
I work for a mold removal company, I would definitely suggest eye protection if you are removing the sheet rock or anything in the room but just walking around for a few minutes is fine. ALWAYS WEAR THE RESPIRATOR, learned that the hard way
I explored my kitchen today, and also found knives.
It has been two years, what happened?
@@HerecomestheCalavera I'm sure he still has knives in the kitchen...
Classic80sStuff ur ugly for that😂😂
@@HerecomestheCalavera it’s been 2 years what happened to you?
Wait really?!??!?,
You need to leave your kitchen now there might be killer!!!!!
Keep forgetting the respirators and you're going to have to rename yourselves "The Coughing People". ;)
good one lol
And last but not least.....dead people.....and that would be very sad!!
Matt Beazer XDXDXDXD
Matt Beazer 😂😂😂
Bruh I love watching his hadsome face
I can smell the mold through the screen.
I try to imagine all these places in their former glory days and this house, despite the commercial expansion of a living facility, I like what I see in my mind's eye. All the classic and traditional lighting fixtures and molding on the bannisters to name a few looked absolutely amazing. Thanks guys for taking us to where most of us can't, won't or don't dare to go. Keep it up!
The people who would have it demolished because it's an eyesore would then tax you to hell. If you fix a place like that to it's former glory after the local leadership wanted to demo it because they weren't willing to invest in it, then your work shouldn't be taxed.
3:30 Look at that, a chair just chillin.
Pastels are 50's and 60's. Avocado green and harvest gold and some orange's and browns was the 70s.
How to tell if something's old; Pastels and checkers.
Oh. Don't forget the floral patterns. Gotta have those.

Those people are idiots.
Giving them drugs, drugs, drugs, drugs, drugs, taking their lives away?
What, Cartels? Addicts? Addictels? Carteddicts?
It always amazes me how you guy never run into the drug addicts that dwell in these places.
Dude, your pfp scared the heck out of me and then I realized it was fake
I was terrified this time around and kept willing them to leave
I think you guys are awesome :o I started to make my own urban exploring vids because of you
Dude! Stop forgetting your Mask! Cool site.
You're crazy for not wearing a respirator. I would've hauled ass back to my car lol.
8:22 I think those are cedar lined closets for clothing storage, to keep the moths out seasonal wear and linens
DUDES please wear your masks, i dont care about helmets etc, bruises and broken bones heal. Cancer doesnt.
17:01 The most paranormal activity these episodes have ever been witnessed to.
This must have been such a gorgeous home... I'm so sad to see it gone to waste. :(
I'm here because of Dan Bell. And I've subscribed! Awesome place with beautiful woodwork! I especially love older (80 years of age and older) buildings.
Dan bell is really great I love his work
dan bell is a obese thumb
the one room where the pianos were, it looks like someone caught that room on fire. I know it's mold, but that was awful!
the fly buzzing sound was so in high quality that i thought it was flying around me lol
Jesus christ imagine wanting a midnight snack in a huge place like that lmao
Leave your bedroom for a glass of water and end up in the garden outside
someone who owns a place like this can afford multiple servants to do that stuff for them
Michael, please PLEASE remember your respirator pal :)
It was Bryan who forgot his.
"It only holds 750 pounds... Thats like one modern day american"
American: *TRIGGERED*
Canadian: Eh, its about right
same oh my lord
121 gold medals tho
121 gold medals tho
Have you been to an American Walmart?
+7r0n7 V4537 is it magical?
I can only imagine the amount of mold & asbestos in that place 😁😁😁
😷 would be more appropriate
DrScopeify water makes it worse
FaZe Master it makes it worse on the material you are spraying. but if your removing the mold, spraying water helps the mold not spread
Why is chairs always so randomly placed in all these abandoned places.. so random
Because people go on the building after its abandoned and they like to fuck with people 😂
Because, chairs just chillin'.
Because another explorer/photographer move it to take a good picture. That's the most common reason.
Dont you know? The chairs are cursed people with limited movement, they work towards the window to kill themselves.
. Scout same name ❤
You guys are the greatest exploration channel I know of. Cheers guys
Thanks!
You forgot about the exploring squad...
+Saleem Jumai no they use click bait titles and have subpar content
+Mvteo I'm not so sure about click bait
I would love for this to be a TV show!!! I Would watch it all the time!!
With a tv show, it could help show some pictures of the places in their prime time
Makes me wonder what Norm and the boys from This Old House could do with that place. With the proper budget of course.
"Yep that's a basement"
*"We'll do that later"*
My words, my words.
It's such a shame to see a big old mansion just left to rot. I wonder what the odds are of anyone who ever lived or worked there actually finding this video and remembering it from better times.
wow I love how you get the courage to go into these creepy places. It's so cool!
3:39 That's about the best chair, just chillin' I've seen. All surrounded by moss. Sweet!
I would have noped right the fuck out as soon as I saw the hobo camp/drug stash.
how am I just finding this channel
"It only holds 750lbs... that's like 1 modern day American." Damn Michael, the shade. 😂
"It only holds 750lb...that's like one modern day American."
I'm dead laughed too hard
😂🤣🤣
That mansion looks like the perfect spot for a clicker ambush if this was The Last Of Us.
Loved the creepy Ghostbusters violin music.
honestly one of the best channels on youtube. Love you guys, keep up the awesome content!
This channel is one of the only channels that don't use (as long as I know) clickbait, congratulations! :D
What a fantastic building! Loving all the fireplaces and the main stairwell! thanks for sharing it! Safe exploring!
Michael and Brian please use your respirators and wear boots when needed. Love this channel. Great to watch.
All kidding aside, I bet that this mansion still has great bones, And I Mean The Wooden Studding And Joisting Variety Damn It, not the calcium ones. Take the lath plaster off the walls and ceiling, remove the planking floor boards and replace where necessary, bring the electrical and plumbing up to code, install HVAC throughout the house, insulate all of the exterior walls and roof bays. Then re-sheath the walls in modern drywall and blue-board, plaster the joints, sand, paint anew, install new carpet/tiling and fixtures as well as new doors and windows, new toilets, sinks and countertops where necessary and stairway ballisters (and service or replace elevators as needed) and that should take care of the interior of the house. On the outside do some aggressive gardening and pruning, re-plaster and paint as necessary, re-sheath and shingle the roof and repair or replace concrete and stonework as needed for the walks, and you practically have a new mansion to occupy.
Later on you can remove / demolish any later attached annex buildings at your leisure. Aside from the cost of materials and any specialized trades work, if you're willing to invest a few years of labour on the house yourself, I bet you could renovate that house for around a half million or so, give or take a hundred-thousand dollars. Brand new, a place that big would easily go for a few million.
this is 10 mins from my house. The stairs are gone now - roof collapsed and destroyed the grand entryway
12:29 OMG Resident Evil on PS1!!!
quick ! Save your progress!!!!
If I may, I suggest the following, more for others than you guys, since this is an old video and you've probably already started taking these precautions:
- Get Respirators and/or bandanna's. They're ESSENTIAL. I don't know if you've considered it or not, but whilst it's a good practice not to kick up the dust from asbestos and the like, the breeze and other environmental effects can still render those particles airborne.
- Make sure you're at the very least, lightly armed, such as a pocket knife or something similar with a small, movable blade, that won't get you done for concealed weapons etc, though more for places like this one in the video, where there's a moderate to high probability that there may be some shady stuff and or people in there. Alternatively, Maglite's are nice and heavy, so if you ever need to defend yourself, they'd be able to do that and still work perfectly fine afterwards.
- Long Clothes and steel capped boots OR steel toed joggers - they're pretty similar in price range, though personally, I'd prefer boots in places like the one in this video.
- Gloves, preferably thick working grade gloves if you plan on touching anything, otherwise latex or leather gloves should be fine.
- ID and a permit, if possible.
Other than all that, and I'm assuming you're well aware of what I've said already, keep up the great content! :)
What I’d do to own this amazing place.
Imagine how beautiful it was and could be.
Thank you guys brilliant exploration!! 👍
Beautiful place! Damn! Would love to have seen pictures of it during it's days as a home. But, the basement looks like something out of a James Wan movie lol
'Imagine if this was during the zombie apocalypse and you got here to late and there's just a list of all the food you missed out on' 😂😂😂
"That's a nice fuckin' staircase"
the best quote I've ever heard
You should try Rehmeyer's/Hex Hollow forest at night (not just the house, in the forest, too). Easily the most haunted place in the US. It's in Shrewsbury PA
Awesome video. Not far from me... Was last used as a vacation home for the nuns that belong to the property right next to it. Place has gotten a lot worst. I got a tour of the place 3 years ago from one of the workers in the assistant living place. Township been talking about trying to rehab it and build a park around it but its been a slow process. Mold is really bad in there now. It is an historical mansion.
When you took that shot of the window, chair and moss on the floor, made me think of The Last of Us.
I believe that room that you thought was "another foyer" was the original dining room. Awesome explore guys!! Loved it! Just wish we knew who lived here back when it was just a home.
Yo guys are so lucky you have all this creepy abandoned shit. There is basically near to no abandoned places in the UK. Not compared to the US At least. The closest abandoned place to me I'm aware of is about an hours drive away.. You guys make it look like there is one every corner of the street!
We travel A LOT to get to these places. We put about 3,000 miles on the odometer on our last trip.
They do a lot of traveling to these places.
The Proper People To be fair we have lots of old renovated buildings that have lots of historical background. They may not be abandoned, but its interesting to walk in a step back in time. Preserved Railway lines, Old House etc..
dude, you can't be serious. Europe is full of abandoned places, and the UK is littered as well, but there is a lot of investigative work involved in finding them, it's not like they have a big bright sign that says "abandoned place here, go check me out" :D
I'm the same. I live near Newcastle and there is one place and it's getting knocked down
Of all the explorers I’ve seen on CZcams and despite you guys being young You guys are the best. No fucking around no one yelling or getting scared no sound fx/music background..Keep your channel as it is. I wouldn’t change a thing about it. You guys are awesome.
What ever happened to the "Hey look at this chair... just chillin"
ikr
3:48 I can see teenagers trying to get cool pics in that chair lol
your background sound makes me creep out letirally...
That place is incredible! In its days as a mansion I cant imagine living in a home thay size. Blows my mind to think of this place originally being a single family dwelling!
Are those knifes STATRAK?
Yea but they were field tested so we left them
You guys play CS? XD Great video like always :)
Oh dang, I knew TF2 had skins, didn't know they had different conditions under the same names like CS
+Sir Pootis the III
any idea what's the song at the begining called?
+Sir Pootis the III your really helpful
Ohh, this is the same place Dan Bell was at and someone was sneaking around during his filming. You could see shadows in his video where people was hiding ;)
You guys should really be wearing boots I think
They should both be wearing masks. Black mold is really not good for you.
Zabe 3 Thanks, I know, having watched the video. It's just that one (or both) of them seems to keep forgetting their masks, and this looks like some of the heaviest mold I've ever seen in one of their explorations. I wanted to remind them how sick mold could potentially make them.
Not just mold, asbestos is quite common in older buildings. Edit: Oh, and lead paint...
+Jason Miller but this is like really old buildings. maybe before asbestos? (i dont really know anything about that but hopefully???)
***** Even then, parts of an older building could have been remodeled when asbestos containing materials were available.
i have been subscribed to this channel before it even reached 100k and i'm surprised how much it has grown. I hope you guys will keep growing and I can't wait for more upcoming content
God seeing those knives I wouldn't have stayed long
I've seen big mansions before, but this place is RIDICULOUSLY huge! Sad it might be torn down to become a big park, but in the condition it's in I can see why. It's cracking and peeling looks like it would be a nightmare job, but more than anything all the mold and potential asbestos looks like a bigger nightmare. Amazed at some parts that look like they were just polished yesterday.
Stay outa that bathroom better yet get outa that house! Like The Shinning on acid up there so scared
Bryan and Michael: Oh theres a basement, well check that out later
Me: If you don't leave 1st or/ excuse to leave lol
This is perfect example of a place from the early 60s.
+. Scout Just people who know architecture
1860's maybe...
It was actually built at the turn of the century., late 1800s, early 1900s by Edgar Scott, son of Thomas A. Scott who was a prominent railroad businessman and U.S. Assistant Secretary of War during the Civil War.
King of Thailand where is this house located at
Your reflection at 3:56 scared the crap out of me!
love your videos and bryan sounds like darth vadar with his mask
It must've been a beautiful home at one time. Would love to see photos of it as it originally looked. I'm sure there were many servants.
"Here's the elevator carriage. It only holds 750 pounds. That's like one modern day American."
I laughed so hard.
Good one!
The top floor of these homes were usually for the staff/servants. That's why the rooms are smaller in that area. Also, they were used for storage of extra linens, clothes, etc. The cabinets were possibly made of cedar to prevent months and silver fish but become useless when they remain open. You probably could have know what was stored, but it doesn't appear that you read the labels.
Speaking of that, I would have loved to have seen more of the labels and the sign on the door by the bathrooms.
I'm too much of a scrapper. I'd bag those chandeliers. Real lead crystal ones are worth big bucks. I scarfed one from a house that was being demolished, cleaned it up, got it working and got almost 8K for it on fleabay. At first I was planing to keep it and use it for my breakfast nook but it was just too big a gaudy for that little space.
James Crow who tf cares
J MONEY obviously you to comment
I love the background music of the violins at the right spots.
"That's like one modern day American." 🔥🔥🔥👏
This should be a show. No joke what-so ever. If it was a show, I would totally watch it lol
The music adds a very nice eerie feeling. Reminds me of the first season of American Horror Story.
That intro song is just pure amazing....
3:40 is really cool.
The Proper People. more like the best people to exist on earth
So what Does The Proper People Think Of House #1? .......... Find out In The Next Episode Of House Hunters.
lol
Hi guys you are so right about that room looking rather like the haunted mansion at Liberty square Disney World we are going there in a few days time .. great explore thanks for sharing with us x
"Looks like the Haunted Mansion" Walt Disney would be proud!
You guys deserve more subscribers.
I love your videos an all, and I usually don't mind the ambient stuff you add to make the video's atmosphere stronger, but the violin sounds make me wanna end myself.
3;40 The mystical lone chair. I sweat after watching hundreds of vids of urban explores from coast to coast there's always a mystical lone chair that looks like it's been there forever. Do I dare say Synchronicity or just coincidence.............Anyway, another great vid, thanks for sharing!!!
"any of these drug people" lol
i just love when nature takes over the concret. i only se art and history. love your videos!
How do you usually find out about the locations you explore?
Lots of exploring, other times you find some treasures and trade locations with another urban explorer who respects the locations too.
People. I'm sure they've gotten lots of locations from friends thank live in their area.
I think they have explained it in the QnA video.
hmm sparrow we explorers normaly have a network of friends who also persu this hobby and normaly we don't share locations :) mutch love bros of decay
In my case, lots of Kms and hours in the road. Is the best way to find interesting places... shure this guys do the same + Google Maps.
lol the way he tries to get in JUST by opening the first door
Man I would kill to be able to be a part of an exploration like this. Historical stuff interests me to absolutely no end.
When you guys were in that basement room with all the mold spores, all I could think about was how one of you didn't have a mask!!!
