Some of this arrangements sound quite weird, interesting to hear the final result. Although in terms of performance this is simply outstanding.

Klingt absolut hörenswert - vor allem auch, um die nächste Stufe der Evolution im Blechbläser-Klang zu erleben. Hier scheinen erneut Maßstäbe gesetzt zu werden. Sogar die Piccolo-Trompete (bei German Brass häufig Störfaktor...) fügt sich organisch in den Gesamtklang ein.

Laut Urtext sollten die Abwärtstriolen am Ende des dritten Satzes Pathetique in harmonisch-Moll stehen nicht natürlich. Ohne diesen übermäßigen Schritt ist der Abgang irgendwie zu brav... Pedanterie at its finest, ich weiß ;)
Ich schätze Matthias Höfe sehr. Bei diesem Projekt bin ich jedoch sehr zwiegespalten. Spontan auch ablehnend. Die Kunstwerke die hier adaptiert werden sind, wenn man so will, "Denkmale".
Die adaptiert man nicht. Zu Zeiten Bachs mag das anders gewesen sein... Es erinnert mich ein bisschen an St. Florian in Österreich, wo man neuerdings auch der Ansicht ist, Bruckner eben zu verjazzen...
