Asya Fateyeva sets out to rethink the idea of the muse. She applies herself to asking what truly supplies the inspiration that a person needs to be active, to generate art. Is it perhaps the unattainable as such? Central to this approach is a musical tribute to the art of the troubadours. “The troubadours of medieval France sang of unrequited love,” says Fateyeva, “but more than that, they sang of l’amour de loin - love from afar.
Bertrand Plé’s interludes link the arrangements and orchestral works with one another, setting them in a free, aesthetically contemporary context. “We studied the texts of the original songs and tried to imagine what was going through their authors’ minds,” explains Asya Fateyeva. “What we do with it is highly abstract and a completely new episode. It’s not the tune that we regard as the big thing, it’s the atmosphere it radiates.”

Of all the copycats of Ridenour this one is best. But it's still not as good as Ridenour.
Shame the performance tails off so quickly. You have to wonder what is wrong with this messed up world that such talent only attracts such a small number of views, and "cat puts itself to bed" gets 12 million views.

Messiaen has a well-known bird song orchestral composition perfectly conducted by his pupil Boulez. About 11 minutes into the composition there is a pause, it is almost as if the next few minutes are pure modern music magic with all sorts of bird calls sounding, some bassy and weighty others mocking and playful. I'm not entirely familiar with all modern music obviously but I know enough to appreciate all the very aspects and avenues of art in general.

Pausing at 2forty9 to say doesn't bother me so much that I understand zero german, Sabadus is not to be "understood" & so aren't his musicians. To me it all belongs to another sphere of maybe "life", if that word suits.
