i don't actually believe in block voting at Eurovision. countries vote for their neighbours because they know the artist/song and have the same musical tastes. This is not meant to cause any offense or to be negative cos most of the songs got points from all over Europe and deserved to however i thought it would be fun to do a compilation of how much certain countries do stay within their own region

There is one pretty big difference:
The Scandinavian countries don’t really vote for the neighbours with poor entries. Sure, when Norway send a really good song they get 12 from swe and den, but not if they send crap. And they don’t give ALL their points to neighbours.
Balkan on the other hand, used to give every single point to neighbours regardless if they made an effort with their song or not. It was like they ignored all other nations even the winners.
That is why the system had to change into the voting we have today. when the televote is combined to a mix we won’t have to see how self centered some nations are.

For Montenegro and Bosnia it is more expectable since, subversive politics aside, we are the same people with Montenegro (kinda like Greece and Cyprus) and half of Bosnia is within the "Serb Republic" plus basically every pop culture artist is shared among these countries.

I don't think cases like Sweden voting for Norway in 2009 are that serious, as there were several other countries voting for Norway that year. You should concentrate on cases where a participating country got its votes mainly from it's voting block. Perhaps you should exclude top five songs of each year throughout, as they probably get relatively high points from everywhere.

    Thanks for the video :)
Some of those really don't deserve to be called "block/neighbour/predictable voting" tho, for example the ones who actually won the contest. Marija Serifovic from Serbia won, so obviously she's going to get lots of points from the former Yugoslav countries, there's nothing wrong with that.
Or Lena from Germany got loads of 12p from all around Europe, in fact Germany has 9 neighbours but only 2 neighbours gave Lena 12p, so it's kinda unfair to label the one time Switzerland didn't give its 12p to Serbia/Albania/Turkey as "block/neighbour/predictable voting" for Germany here :D And the one time Denmark didn't vote for Sweden/Norway/Finland/Iceland...
Same goes for Alexander Rybak, Mans Zelmerlöw, Loreen and Emmelie de Forest. They WON, so of course the Nordic countries gave a lot of points to the winner in that year. Nothing wrong with that.
Or when Germany gave 12p to Nadine Beiler from Austria, which was actually the first 12p from Germany to Austria in like 50 years or something :D Wasn't predictable at all, actually. It was only possible because Turkey wasn't in the final that year. The only predictable thing about that year was the 10p to Greece.
And literally the same applies to Germany's 12p to Tom Dice from Belgium. Wasn't predictable at all. The predictable things here were, again, the high points to Turkey and Greece.
Also Maja Keuc, Jelena Tomasevic etc were amazing and deserved those points :)
And how does Netherlands and France voting for Denmark belong into this video? Or Denmark voting for Ireland? Am I missing some secret connection between those countries? :D

Oh pls, I'm not sure if u can find it on the internet but for instance in the 1st semi final in 2019 every single one of the Serbian jurors put Montenegro 1st. I mean, come on I think we all remember that dreadful performance.
On the other hand I get it. They literally participated as Serbia & Montenegro until 2007.
With the Nordics I think it's a different story. Yes, they all (except Norway) gave their 12 to Sweden in 2019, but Spain, the Netherlands, Armenia and Czech republic did too. Which is not the case with Serbia and Montenegro for instance.
Another fun fact: None of the Nordic juries gave a single point to Iceland in 2019.
Anyway it's not the exact same story with the Nordics and Serbia and Montenegro and also Cyprus and Greece, bc the Nordics don't gave that kind a connection with each other. Like they don't share the same language, they have never been 1 country and I also don't think they share the same stars.
So if u wanna say something about this, do it right and do ur research. Again I kinda get why Serbia and Montenegro exchanged their 12 in 2019, they were the same nation, but it's not really how it should be bc that song and performance from Montenegro were really...not good

Fact (just check it if you don't believe me): no 2 other countries have given each other as many points as Greece and Cyprus. Sure, other countries might be guilty of block/neighbour-voting, but Greece-Cyprus win this shameful 'competition' hands down. No other countries even come close! Funny how all Greeks/Cypriots in this thread don't even seem to understand that saying 'but we are the same nation' is not an excuse for voting for each other: it is a SONG contest in which you're supposed to vote for the song you like best - not for the COUNTRY you like best...
