Yeah, Tzekel Kan is a genuinely good villain. One could argue he is a bit like Frollo (and with this I mean he is a murderous weirdo who uses religion as a mean to hold and abuse power claiming the world is unclean), but seriously toning down the darkness around him. Most of the "lame" villains here are actually good, like Ms Tweedy or Dave the Octopus. Sure, they're no Tai Lungs... but still good to watch. P.S.: you forgot Tzekel Kan also straight up murdered his assistant to summon the stone jaguar.

Tai Lung is a bit more misunderstood to me ngl, like the reason why he even snapped like that because he was leading himself into being the Dragon Warrior, only for him to not be "chosen".
They are all top teir, but out of all of them, Kai was the worst in my opinion. He just didn't have quite the buildup shen and tai lung had. He felt rushed, while the other two were set as terrifying forces throughout all of China, he wasn't recognized anywhere, and didn't make much of an impact until he had met some of the main cast. She and tai lung would terrify anyone from just them being mentioned. And tai lung even scared Po without him truly knowing him. Therefore, in my opinion, Tai lung and Shen are better than Kai.

I like how both HTTYD villains were added in top tier, they were actually scary. Seeing what Drago Bludfist did to the guy at the end of the RTTE and what he did to Eret, scared me lol. Also if you look closely at the areas around the ships and the clothing of Drago and his men, there’s some torture devices and body parts from their clothing. Then Grimmel was also scary because the entire time he was just playing around with Hiccup trying to get him paranoid and hunt him down. Hiccup literally felt like he was being hunted along with everyone he cares about.
Along with the singular fact that he was the reason Toothless was the last of his species when the Night Furies were, through our little dragon(cat) boi, shown to be absolute menaces. Like, can you imagine how terrifying a Titan Night Fury would be?

Death, however, was an unstable force that committed to his job and when something falls out of order, it's his job to take responsibility on the matter revolving around life. So him seeing a cat taking life so lightly will obviously want him to commit to his job since he spared Puss at the near end of the movie when he saw he changed.

If you think about it more in depth, Puss was literally asking for death every time he played with his 9 lives. So on his 9th life, Death had enough and wanted to therefore intervene. Death COULD have played as something else, but he decided to go as his physical form (because if you obviously are toying with life, then you'll have near death consequences/circumstances), hence why Death started to hunt down Puss as a physical force of nature rather than a villain.

@@lucky6961 It was valid though. A villain is someone who cares to destroy everything and everyone in it (or just to gain control over everything and everyone). Death, however, was an unstable force that committed to his job and when something falls out of order, it's his job to take responsibility on the matter revolving around life. So him seeing a cat taking life so lightly will obviously want him to commit to his job since he spared Puss at the near end of the movie when he saw he changed.

@@lucky6961 Death can come in many shapes and forms. He doesn't necessarily have to be a wolf to kill Puss. If you think about it more in depth, Puss was literally asking for death every time he played with his 9 lives. So on his 9th life, Death had enough and wanted to therefore intervene. Death COULD have played as something else, but he decided to go as his physical form (because if you obviously are toying with life, then you'll have near death consequences/circumstances), hence why Death started to hunt down Puss as a physical force of nature rather than a villain.
@@carlostheflea you're forcing it, he took a physical embodiment, to directly kill puss, he wasn't some unstoppable force, puss fights him, if you want to interpret him as a force of nature it'd be trough time, dying of old age, which he didn't do, he went out of his way to kill puss as a physical beast
