    I think this was a great end to the first season. The CDC was the last glimpse of the old world and it gets destroyed marking the end of civilization as we know it. It's basically telling the audience the world will never go back to the way it was.

    1:13 I love Jenner's rant here, it's chilling cause he's basically saying that the CDC could protect humanity from almost any disease, and if they couldn't keep them safe from the walker virus, it's arrival likely marks the end of days for humans.
    Jenner made it his dying mission to find a way to stop the virus, and to see this man now so passionately convinced that there's no stopping it is frightening. This finale totally set the tone for the series: no hope, no chance at civilization, just survival until the day comes you're no longer grateful to be alive.

    • @vladdracula8103
      @vladdracula8103 Před 7 měsíci +51

      Yeah it's pretty chilling to hear the tone and stuff, it kinda tries to represent a part of reallity, how the CDC have to literally burn their heads to come up with a cure to save people, probably deal with the worst diseases ever, all sorts of crazy stuff, and it's scary to think that what happens if one day they just can't come up with a cure like in this scene, scary to think how our lives depend of the CDC, and if one day fails....

      After the first season, the show ceased to have a story. In the first season, it was all about the outbreak, it's aftermath, people joining forces, and making their way to the CDC. There was actually a goal with momentum behind it. Subsequent seasons just got really dull. It's literally the same shit over and over again. It's just them traveling place to place, looking for shelter and trying to survive. And that's it. There's no plot besides that. And the fact that they just keep killing off characters simply for shock value got really annoying.

I mean even his walkers had way more depth with them being able to retain certain memories and use objects. It made them seem more unpredictable and it really added to the horror element. Also, the way Darabont wrote his characters and the dialogue felt way more natural. I just love the conversations of morales and stuff he brought into it like real stuff that people would think if this was to be a real situation. It felt really authentic. Later, it really become a gore fest with a whole lot of fighting and action which is cool but you need that balance.

Full stop. So people whining about the insanity of camouflaging oneself with infected blood can stop it. These characters are infected. ALL OF THEM. Hence the title 'Walking Dead.' It's simply a matter of the virus overwhelming a bodies defenses. Get sick, there's a chance. Get stabbed, there's a chance. Get bit,..there's a really good chance. Death = you're a walker.

It sort of feels like I just jumped into a different dimension because now I'm just here wondering how the entire group got out and even more importantly, how is it that they forgot that this man said that everyone is already infected. When Jenner tells Rick "The day will come when you won't be [grateful]" really was prophetic. They really might have all been better off if they had just accepted it there and then.
